overall good! It took a little longer than expected (three weeks) -I was quoted a week-but I was able to add on other side jobs for his crew as they went along. His painters patched and repainted some other spots in my house. His electrician installed more lighting in my basment area and crawl, and changed out some switch plates (this was additional $400). One of his worker removed some debris in my garage I wanted disposed of for an extra $50. Jay also took my other shower's broken handle to have it repaired. I will also have him fix some things in my half bath.

One thing about Jay is that he third parties a lot of his work, so your work and the punctuality and professionalism and price all depends on who is in charge of that aspect of your job. The granite guy--not good. The door person, Phil--failed to finish the doors, does not answer phone calls. The paint crew-ProPainters-AMAZING!! The tile guy-union tiler, Mike--fantastic. The crew that put in my venting on the roof-great-additional $250. The people who installed my granite and cabinents--not so great Jay (of JW) seems like a good plumber--we'll see if the results hold up. His tiling is so-so. He did not switch the hot and cold water as asked so it's still backwards and then he told me it's too late, because he tiled. He's not returning phone calls, now that he got paid for the job. Wished they had finished off floor.

Update 2013: never returned to fix floor (from bathroom to hall, or doors, or broken piece on shower, or do additional water spigot. Bottom line--basically good work, decent cost, but does not care about following up on details. You end up being the general contractor (not Jay) and you have to delay payment or work will not be completed as promised. A bit shady.

My bottom of the line advice....dont make the final payment until EVERYTHING you want done is finished. I worry about companies that stop returning phone calls after they get the bulk of the payment. One thing is for certain: you cannot go wrong with Pro Painters (see my review of them). They have returned several times, punctual, and professional to finish small jobs in my house, and even fixed what the door guy from Jay left undone.
