Jackson Moving & Storage

I did a 2 day move. Pick up in Chicago, store for 2 days, and deliver in Naperville. Chris & his team of movers were excellent. They worked extremely hard and fast! I offered many times to feed them and they wouldnt stop working. The packed up my place in 5 Hrs and unpacked everything in 3 hrs. True professionals. Kind courteous and didnt break a thing. Our quote came in exactly on target. I had dreaded moving day because of the horror stories, but these guys were perfect!

Fast and efficient, very prompt. Nothing damaged. I paid $3185.12 cashier's check per original quote as agreed, and was then informed by truck driver he needed a check for another $1328.66, for additional weight, but could not offer confirmation of any kind. So I ended up paying more than 40% higher than original quote, which means their quote was under estimated by 5000 lbs!

We had a horrible experience, and we are still haggling with Jackson over the final bill. They went a total of 55% over the original estimate, which brought the cost from $4,917.30 to approximately $7,622. We paid them only 10% over the estimate on the day we moved in, and they are still attempting to collect the balance. When we complained to them about the bait and switch and about the problems that led to the serious increase in labor time, their response was to accuse us of adding items to the move in order to try to blame us for the enormously inflated charges. I would rather strap my house to my back and walk from Chicago to Naperville than ever use this company again. The only good thing I can say about them is that only three items got broken in the move; a wine glass, a wooden carving, and a piece of particle-board furniture that was already in shaky condition. 9/25/06 Our problems with this company were finally resolved satisfactorily.

THEY WERE OKAY. THEY WERE PROMPT BUT I WASN'T VERY HAPPY AFTER THEY GAVE ME THE PRICE BECAUSE IT WAS ABOVE THE QUOTED PRICE.
