We decided to remodel our 50 year old bathroom. We had no idea of the cost or details involved in the project. After receiving three estimates, we selected HomeWerks of Naperville for the project. Their initial estimate was over our budget, but their architect, Matt Goyke, worked with us to tweak the plans to bring the price within our budget and still provide us with everything that we wanted. Scheduling became a brief problem because of the holidays, but Matt worked to get done between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They started work on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and one worker working eight hours a day, completed the job in two weeks. We are totally satisfied with our new bathroom. Matt and HomeWerks helped us get the new bathroom we wanted at a price we could afford.

Disappointing experience. Natasha was professional and on time - which was appreciated. Though, it was ultimately a waste of time. She said her company did not do remodels for anything below $40,000. And free 3D renderings are only for clients within their target budget. She explained why they couldn’t do this on the phone - though, ultimately doesn’t change that this still wasted my time. Sharing so that others don’t have the same experience.

Our design consultant Kathy Harvey exceeded our expectations. Homewerks was not the cheapest option for our remodeling job but was certainly the best value . Not only did the job come in on time and on budget, Kathy stayed with us every step of the way in getting us the best price on options and working with the contractors on any design changes. The best part is how she was our contact person to resolve any issues, and there always are w any project of this size, and how she made this the most stress free home remodeling job to date. I have used different contractors on my basement, my patio, and finally my bathroom and the bathroom job w Kathy was by far my best experience. I would certainly use her again.

They were here everyday on time and worked diligently! They were wonderful. We hit a snag as there was more damage than we thought and both the foreman on the job, Greg and also my sales person, Kathy Harvey, came right away and told me my options and cost etc. They cleaned up everything as they went along and removed everything! I did not have to go buy tile etc as it was all included in the price! I would rate them higher than excellent if I could and fully intend to use them again on future projects!

We met with designer Kathy Harvey she was amazing. She listened to our ideas and came up with beautiful designs. When the first bathroom was finished it was so beautiful I couldn't imagine how the master bath could look nicer. She exceeded our expectations. Kathy and the Project manager Ron Linares were quick to resolve any concerns we had. They were professional and personable. They worked extensive hours in our home but also looking for the right materials to meet our design. They would come to check on the work frequently. We knew it was not just another job they cared as if it were their own home. The workers were on time professional and we felt comfortable with such a great crew! Thank you for giving us stunning show room bathrooms we feel like we are at a luxurious spa. I highly recommend them.

Most of the work for our bathrooms and kitchen remodeling project was completed in about six weeks. HomeWerks pricing for the project was less than some quotes we obtained but more than others. We chose HomeWerks because we felt they would provide the professional quality we wanted for our project. We also wanted assistance from a designer and HomeWerks' contract included the services of a designer. We are thoroughly enjoying our remodeled spaces and are very satisfied with the work done by HomeWerks. I can't say enough good things about our project manager Greg and his team. They arrived promptly at 8 a.m. each day and worked well past 5 p.m. on most days. They patiently and thoroughly answered all our questions and addressed our concerns in a timely manner. They were always professional and made sure our floors and furniture were protected during this extensive project. Greg stopped by before noon every day to provide a project update and to answer our questions. Design consultant, Kathy, is very talented and has a sparkling personality. We really enjoyed working with her. This was our first remodeling project and the information she provided regarding what to expect was very helpful. Her patience was unwavering as we viewed numerous tile samples and made several trips to granite yards. We really appreciated her tips, design ideas and recommendations. As with any major project, we did encounter some minor problems (material on back order, out of stock tile and hollow core doors). Only one issue (hollow core doors) was not resolved to our satisfaction. Communication with Gregg throughout the project was excellent. Whenever we called or texted Greg with an issue or concern, he quickly returned our call and promptly addressed the problem. We would definitely use HomeWerks again and would recommend them to others.

are proud of the results of the project.Ā  We would use Homewerks again inĀ the future.Ā 
Designer
OurĀ designer was Kathy, and we clicked with her from the moment we met her.Ā She isĀ friendly and knowledgeableĀ about what goes together (i.e. colors / tiling).Ā Ā  After signing theĀ contract, we started deciding on colors / vanities / backsplashes / tiles right
away.Ā  Kathy had several examples in the showroom ? and also met us at differentĀ showrooms/stores in both Orland Park and in Chicago.Ā  She was able toĀ quickly ascertain the kind of bathroom design we wanted and worked towardĀ achieving that with her selections.Ā 
OneĀ concern of ours was the location of the showroom.Ā  Our condo is inĀ downtown Chicago, whereas, their office is in Orland Park.Ā  However, thatĀ did not end up being a problem as Kathy wasĀ accommodatingĀ with us ? meeting on weekends in the Orland Park office or meeting us in theĀ city.
KathyĀ also handled problems that arose that we did not even know about until afterĀ the fact.Ā  For example, the hall bath?s backsplash became discontinued ?Ā which would have been a huge disaster as we had designed the bathroom around
that backsplash.Ā  Kathy called several vendors before she was able to trackĀ down and get a shipment of the last box of backsplash.Ā  We also had issuesĀ with the master bath quartz as it was on backorder for several weeks and theĀ vendor was continually telling Kathy ?it would be ready next week?.Ā  ThatĀ week would then come and go.Ā  We eventually found a different quartz ? butĀ this was all the week before it was to be installed in our bath.Ā  KathyĀ handled all of these issues on her own and never seemed stressed and alwaysĀ presented different options to us.Ā  When life handed her lemons, she madeĀ lemonade for us.Ā  Which is exactly what you want in a designer /Ā remodeling company.Ā  A condo remodel is stressful enough and having aĀ company eliminate some of the stress for us was much appreciated.
Contractor
OurĀ contractor from Homewerks was Greg, and he was really good.Ā  I would useĀ him (and his team) again in a heartbeat.Ā  During the demolition andĀ remodel part, Greg was in constant contact with me.Ā  If I would text him aĀ question, he would answer within minutes.Ā  A day would not go by that IĀ didn?t hear from Greg.Ā  During this construction time, plans sometimes go
awry and quick decision making is needed on the home owners part.Ā  It is aĀ little nerve wracking for someone like me who likes everything planned way inĀ advance, but Greg and his team made this process much easier.Ā  They wouldĀ give me their opinions and while sometimes they needed answers right on theĀ spot, sometimes they would give me a night to think about it.
GregĀ and his team worked extremely efficient, always abided by our condo rules, andĀ cleaned up the condo when they left each day.Ā  I had no concerns aboutĀ them being in our condo w/o us there and I trusted them implicitly.Ā  WhileĀ the time frame for our job was going to be about 8-10 weeks (according to theĀ contract we initially signed), they finished everything in about 6-8 weeks ?Ā much to our pleasure.Ā 
GregĀ and his team were alsoĀ accommodatingĀ to us.Ā  We ended up having some medical issues with both our dog and my
mom, and so during the last three weeks of the remodel, either my husband or IĀ were at home during the construction with our dog.Ā  It certainly was notĀ ideal to have a dog home and living in the bedroom while work was being done inĀ other areas of the condo, but they were very nice about it.
While the positives outweighed the negatives, IĀ would be remiss if I didn?t mention some of the issues we did have withĀ Homewerks.Ā  As I look back, none were monumental, but they felt large atĀ the time.Ā  We thought that the construction would start soon after theĀ custom vanities were in.Ā Ā  However, our project manager was on otherĀ projects and wasn?t available.Ā  It was several weeks before the demolitionĀ started ? which when you?re trying to plan things, was a little frustrating forĀ us.Ā 
WhileĀ I really enjoyed working with Kathy, there were times where she was a littleĀ absent minded and not as communicative as I would have liked.Ā  I usedĀ email for a lot for communication with Kathy so as to minimize personal callsĀ from my work.Ā  However, I found that days could pass before I would hearĀ back in email from Kathy.Ā  Having done aĀ remodel before, the details and communication are very important once demolition starts, and meĀ being organized with exact measurements/ layouts beforehand is key.Ā Ā 
ThereĀ was also one time where we scheduled a meeting, but Kathy forgot to put it onĀ her calendar.Ā  Fortunately for everyone involved, she had time to spareĀ for us when we showed up at the showroom.Ā 
OneĀ other issue that did arise related to the master bathroom backsplash.Ā  IĀ had a lot of problems deciding on one I liked.Ā  I had gone to countlessĀ showrooms in the city and suburbs.Ā  Kathy said she would order severalĀ backsplash samples, and we would then look at them at our next meeting. Ā However, several meetings went by (as well as weeks) and those sample
backsplashes never arose. Ā Due to time constraints, I ended up ordering sample backsplashes onlineĀ and having them over-nighted to me (at an extra cost).Ā  Eventually, IĀ chose one of those samples and it turned out beautifully.Ā  But I just wishĀ Kathy had been more forthcoming with me in that she had not ordered the otherĀ sample backsplashes.Ā Ā 
HomewerksĀ was not the cheapest remodeler that we interviewed ? nor were they the mostĀ expensive.Ā  What we really liked about HomeWerks was that they were aĀ one-stop shop.Ā  They would help us on the design as well as do all theĀ demolition and the remodel.Ā  Can I guarantee that you won?t have problemsĀ if you choose them?Ā  No.Ā  B/c there is no perfect remodel of a house. Ā There is always bound to be some problems that arise.Ā  It?s a matter ofĀ choosing the company that you work well with, and for us, Homewerks, Kathy andĀ Greg fit that bill.

From the very beginning I was given the attention that is comparable with our investment in our home.Ā  The sales team and designers helped my husband and I choose different styles, understand the differences with respect to material and cost and gave sound recommendations.Ā  It was important for us to know the difference between choosing one brand and another and the team was completely transparent.

During the actual construction, the project plan manager and his crew was informative every step of the way.Ā  Details are soĀ important for me and with our family and schedule we needed to be sure we had a clear picture of what to expect.Ā  If there was any change, I was alerted in advance but most importantly the project manager and sales team ensured I knew I understood the functionality of my new kitchen, living room and bathroom.Ā  That experience was most impressive to me because you normally do not see the sales team stay involved through the construction period.

Pathetic. The contractors ran in taped and covered all surfaces.  In the process broke multiple glass ornaments. They ran in like bulls into a china shop.  In the beginning they had the kitchen torn apart in literally two days.  They began to install cabinets attempting to hide their mistakes.  After the coarse install, the individuals began to paint new cabinet doors to fix their neglect while installing them.  They installed new outlets that are not in plane with the original existing outlets.  The contractors installed a new window replacing a larger old window. This required rebricking the outside wall.  In the process of rebricking the mason destroyed outside landscape lighting. Inside after removing all tape from hardwood lacquered floor managed to remove lacquer  which now will require refinishing.  Contractor also managed to somehow remove vent covers in the floor and throw them away, still waiting for their replacement 11 months later.  The contractor also managed to throw away the accessories to my Dyson cordless vacuum.. this thank God I managed to save.  If for these morons, I could have basically thrown out a $400 vacuum!  When the contractor asked for tools, such portable air compressors, which I had, I provided.  Proving contractor doesn't have tools to complete the job.  Basically a bunch or wanna bes that can't fix sh?t!  Whenever the designer from the store asked for funding.. funding was provided immediately and at the asked amount.  Big mistake! Contractor very rude.  Told me he was "handed a bag of flaming chicken sh?t and expected to do something with it"... this meaning my kitchen a according to him  was a "flaming bag of chicken sh?t"  What an insult! And he was paid for these remarks!!!!  To this day now almost a year later my kitchen is not done.  The outside bricks that were reinstalled by the mason, are still not painted to match the existing bricks.  The designer basically is writing me off.  Stay away from these losers.  Homewerks is the company that will screw you over by either providing substandard components, loser employees that install your paid for kitchen cabinets, and designers that  won't respond to your calls once they get a majority of the original contracted amount.  They will not honor your concerns and will not respond to your calls.  Save your self the money and DO NOT CALL HOMEWERKS for ANY HOME REMODELING... you will not be satisfied with  BS promises!!!!

Please do not use this company. Ā They are crooked. Ā They verbally said things that were not on the contract. Ā In the end they didn't provide what they originally stated.Ā They were suppose to replace all the drywall in the entire bathroom and put in a new shower. Ā They didn't replace all Ā the drywall in the shower area just glued over it. Ā They promised me they would remove all the old drywall. Ā They didn't tape or mud the drywall in the rest of the bathroom because it wasn't "stated on the contract" Ā Since I only had a verbal agreement and not written on the contract they said they were not responsible for finishing the job. Ā They should have at least given me some of my money back for the drywall services rendered incomplete. Ā Instead they argued with me and made me cry a mom with two twins with disabilities. I hope this company gets what they deserve.

Their fabricator was scheduled to arrive at 9:am to measure for the countertops.  I called shortly after 9:00 & was told that he was running late & didn't know when he would arrive...she was a very uncaring voice on the phone.  I had the man's cell phone so I called him twice.  He answered the 2nd time & said his phone wasn't working but he was on his way.  By this time I contacted our kitchen designer & told her what happened & asked that one of the supervisor come out to measure.  She called me back & said the supervisor refused to come out, he does not measure anymore. I waited for the original guy to arrive which was 11:30am.  I asked him why he was so late & he told me that his office had rescheduled his appointment & they were to call me.  He said they do this all the time.  I contacted our kitchen designer, she apologized & said her manager would call us.  I never heard from him. She also called back to say they had another fabricator to use but by this time I was done with Homewerks.  
Overall, the kitchen designer I worked with was very pleasant but working with her from July to Sept for a simple project was taking too long.  And then the fabricator they use (which I was told at the time is the only one they use) lied to me and obviously Homewerks didn't care enough to follow up & call me.  If I had a problem with the granite installation, would I feel confident Homewerks would stand behind their work?  I think not!  I started working with Homewerks on July 21, 2014, they had a $5,000 deposit from me and this whole thing blew up on September 11, 2014.

"Our number goal at Homewerks is complete customer satisfaction. We are sorry you cancelled before we had a chance to start your project. Here is a brief description of what transpired. On 07-21-14 customer called to price counter tops. We requested she bring her dimensions to our showroom to view our samples. She felt uncomfortable measuring herself, so we went to her at no charge. On 07-23-14 customer came to our showroom to view tile. A sales representative then brought her to two of our suppliers. On 07-28-14 customer came to showroom to review proposal. On 08-02-14 customer came to showroom to discuss and sign contract. On 08-05-14 sales representative brought more tile samples to customer's home for review. On 08-16-14 customer and sales representative went to granite supplier to pick slabs. Customer did not find anything she liked. On 08-26-14 customer and sales representative went to another granite supplier and selected her slab. On 09-09-14 customer was to pick tile for back splash but needed to cancel. On 09-12-14 the field measure was to take place at 9:00 am. The measure tech was late and customer called our granite fabricator to see when they would arrive. Our fabricator explained he was running late from a earlier appointment and was in traffic. Customer called our sales representative to cancel appointment at 11:00 am. We offered to have our other fabricator out to measure, but that would delay the project and may not make her deadline. Customer had a party she needed this project completed for and we assured her we would have it completed. She then agreed to have measure tech come at 11:30 am that same day to measure. On 09-13-14 customer called to cancel project. We feel we spent a lot of time on this project and you would have been very happy with the outcome. We are sorry there was a slight delay with the granite fabricator."

The product is beautiful. I spent about $5300. I went to many places to get hem to do my kitchen and what I liked about the representative at HomeWerks was that he worked with me, he gave me a lot of ideas, brought out different materials, explained their types and guided me to selecting the right type for my kitchen. What I really liked was that he back splash that I picked out, the tile guy came out and made suggestions one the spot and everything came out fantastic.

I thought they were certainly okay. I did not think the quality of the cabinets was as strong as some of the other places we had been. They came out to our home and did measuring.Ā  The estimate was not itemized which made me suspicious. I do not think that I would use them in the future.

He took way to long to give me anĀ estimate and in the meantime, I already decided to go withĀ someone else.Ā So I never actually got an estimate from him, I told himĀ never mind when he finally did call me. He was a salesman and wanted to do far more than what I wanted done. He knew I was on a budget but he still wanted to make it as high as he possible could.I would not use him again.
