They ended up doing a nice job. They came out to my house one time to measure my windows. Then they came out a second time to check the measurement. When they came the third time to replace the windows one of the windows didn't fit. They made a mistake with the measurement. They had to reorder the glass and come back a fourth time to finish the job. They took ownership of their mistake and made it right. I would use them again.

Upon initial contact, representative was very polite, courteous and helpful. We had several windows and doors that had broken the seal. This was covered under manufacturer warranty. When ECFCO came out to measure the problem windows and doors, things went extremely smoothly. They knew exactly what they were looking for and took care of all of the measurements. When they came back to install the windows and doors, they were also very courteous, polite, and clean! They also made several adjustments to hardware and weatherstripping while they were here. I would highly recommend this company.

They came in and tested all windows for condensation to determine which windows to replace. They facilitated the order for the replacement windows with the manufacturer (which took a little time though that was likely the manufacturers issue) and then promptly scheduled installation. The installers arrived on time and wer both very polite and tidy. If I ever need to install windows I will contact this company. I feel that the price for installation was reasonable given the scope of the work.

I got Ed's name from Angie's List. I called the number, left a message, and he returned the call promptly. He came over within a day to estimate the cost and mailed me a written quote. I signed the quote, sent it back with a 50% deposit, and he called me when the window came in. We arranged a date for installation, he came when he said he would, and did the job quickly and carefully with no mess left behind. I paid the remaining amount. I would recommend Ed without reservation. He does business the old fashioned way. He returns calls, keeps appointments, charges fairly, and does the job well. Every contractor should follow this model. By the way, another contractor I called for the job took a look and said, "I can't replace just the window. The sidelight is part of the whole front door unit and you would have to replace it all." Not true. Just ask Ed. : )

Ed is an older guy, very hard working and honest. When we found many of my old balances could be re-used, he took the new ones back and negotiated a return credit with WS that saved me about $185. On the overall job, I now have some good reliable windows that should be good for another 20 years with modest maintenance. This is a fraction of what I might have spent to have new window sets installed in the existing frames.
