We contacted Dutchman on Sept. 1 that our AC unit was not working. Service tech arrived the next day and gave an estimate of the repairs. Based on age of the system, he recommended we speak with their salesman, Mark, to get a quote on a new unit. Due to warm weather and humidity, Mike B (owner) had the tech return to do a temporary fix of our existing unit until decided what to do. We met with Mark and quickly decide on installing new equipment. The installation crew arrived on Friday, Sept 4, and had all the new equipment up and running by the end of the day. The installation crew kept on informed on what they were doing and took care to keep the work area and surrounding area clean. We highly recommend Dutchman Heating.

"We love the Mitsubishi mini-split systems and believe they are typically the best choice for any space that needs heating and/or cooling. The cost can be more than the budget though and we pride ourselves in giving good information so you can make the decision you are happiest with. If you decide later it is worth additional money for a mini-split we are here for you but we never want to try and convince someone to spend more than they are comfortable with. I was called early the next morning regarding the proposed scope of work. Dutchman carries American Standard and proprietary Dutchman equipment for a bit of discount. I chose the American Standard unit. A formal proposal was sent via email that afternoon. I approved the work immediately and was placed on the schedule for Wednesday, PM, two days later to install the new equipment.
The installers, Doug and Jimmy, were very professional and polite during the installation. The entire installation was ~4 hours with final start up and testing. Everything is running great.
"I think you made a wise decision in replacing the system. The average life of an air conditioner is considered 15 years so you outlasted the average with the system. The equipment is most expensive to own and operate in their last years of life since this is when they are most likely to breakdown and are least efficient. The unit will perform the same and usually a small defect in appearance doesn't matter on a water heater since they are usually tucked away in a closet or the basement. We are happy would could find earlier availability for your work. We rarely have trouble responding quickly to our customers needs even in the extreme weather conditions. Crew of two arrived as scheduled. Reviewed all duct locations. Brought vacuum unit into and through the house to each vent. Removed and vacuumed vents one-at-a-time, then replaced neatly. About as noisy as a Shop-Vac. Left areas clean.
Most challenging was the main return air duct near the furnace. There was a considerable accumulation of dust in there; but I could see the metal of the ductwork when I looked inside after they finished it. Job took a bit under two hours.
