About us
Howard "Dean" Thacker has 35 years experience in the construction field. He began working as an apprentice for the union at the age of 16 . He graduated from Washburn Trade School and went on to work for the Carpenter’s Union. Dean worked building houses out in Hoffman Estates. He then went on to working in Downtown Chicago building the Sears Tower and the first Drive-thru Walgreens. He continued building Jewel and Walgreens buildings over the years. Dean eventually worked as an accoustical ceiling engineer and earned a certificate with the US Government as a certified ceiling specialist. Dean is currently a master carpenter in the union. He finally decided to own his own company in the late 1990s and continues to be self employeed today. He currently owns DuPage Contractors based in Naperville and does both residential and commercial work. Dupage Contractors has a staff of its own. No work is subcontracted out. All the staff are licensed as required. This includes the staff electricians and plumbers. The company has a $2 million liability insurance policy. Each family or company who hire them are provided with a certificate of insurance in their name. The company comes highly recommended. In fact, they finished 5 basements in Aurora, on the same block, in 2007.

They arrived on time, were very professional, neat and fast. They stripped the floor and applied 2 coats of wax, allowing dry time and buffed to perfect shine. Our tile floors look better than ever! We will use DuPage again and again for all our future tile floor waxing and buffing! Thanks for the excellent work and glossy gorgeous tile floors!
