I have been using Dogs Love Running for years, and cannot say enough good things about them. Beyond the walking and running Heidi and her staff are caring, compassionate, to not only the furry ones but to the humans as well. They are very accommodating with their scheduling and will step in even open short notice.

I can't say enough how much we love Dogs Love Running. What you get with them over other dog walking companies/apps is the excellent customer service. As a new customer, Heidi comes to meet your dog so she can introduce them to whatever walker will be coming. I have called Heidi in desperation when we were in a bind and she walked our dog immediately. Their scheduled walkers are beyond amazing. We have a regular walker now, and I look forward to her notes when I get home from work because you can tell from what she writes how much she loves our girl. Our dog is super high energy so I love the fact that she gets to go on a run and play fetch with her in our yard. She's exhausted when I get home and I am happy because I didn't have to worry about her while she was in the hands of Heidi and her wonderful team.

The experience was outstanding. They provide visit notes and pictures when they come to visit that way you know your pups are doing well. Heidi went above and beyond the call of duty when our A/C in our apartment was not acting properly during the summer heat. She took the initiative to contact maintenance and the issue fixed. Our dogs didn't have to sweat in the heat. Heidi and her team take care of our dogs like they were their own.

Dog Love Running! is such a wonderful company. I was refereed to them by a local Humane Society, and couldn't be any happier with my choice. I used the company twice for 2-3 weeks each time. Heidi and Karen were reliable, honest, and used their best judgement when it came to caring for my dog.
For the first time last fall/winter, I needed to find a dog sitter for my 13 year old Apple, as my normal day sitters (parents) were out of town. This is the first time I was leaving Apple in someone else's hands, and I was very nervous. Apple was dog-aggressive and also having an array of health issues (including irregular seizures).
Heidi and Karen were great providing for my dog. Some days, Apple would be ready for a long walk, while other days she just needed a potty break. They were also prepared to take care of her if she needed immediate medical attention. Luckily, none was ever needed.
I always enjoyed coming home to their notes about Apple's day. They would always leave a little summary about what they did. I would encourage everyone to use Dogs Love Running! I plan on using them in the future!

we love 'dogs love running' -- heidi and every single person who works for her is so completely wonderful and caring. our dog walkers come rain or shine, sleet or snow. they are so good with our dog who has arthritis and whose condition sometimes makes him lively and sometimes a bit slow. our dog walkers always provide a note saying how the walk went and anything of note. i know our dog is in such good hands with 'dogs love running'!

She was good. Her customer service was a little different. But overall, she did good work. I can't remember the exact cost anymore, but I do remember it being affordable. She charged per session and per dog.

We needed someone to watch our Yorkie for 3 days but didn't want to lock him up at a local kennel so I found "Dogs Love Running" on Angie's List. Heidi Janss was very nice and insisted on meeting with us at our home and meeting Rocky. She took all the details and the price was very reasonable. She clearly is an animal lover because she immediately took to our dog and Rocky reciprocated. We left early on Day 1 and arrived late on Day 3 so we never actually saw the person who took care of Rocky but he was well taken care of and not traumatized in the least. Rocky became accustomed to the twice daily walks and seemed to be looking for the dogwalker at the prescribed time in the morning and evening.
I will defintely use them again when the need arises.

I had to schedule this last minute while at the airport catching a flight. Heidi took payment by credit card and scheduled it without a problem. We will definitely use again.

Beth had her hands full watching our 9 month old puppy, 5 year old mastiff and our 12 year old cat. She walked our puppy every day and played with our older dog and cat. When the puppy had a sore open up on his leg, Beth contacted me right away and was able to find solutions that helped heal his leg. Beth was great about giving me updates and even photos so I could see that all was well at home. I would absolutely use them again!

We are repeat users of Dogs Love Running. We will never use a kenneling service again. They are reliable and cost effective. For less money than boarding, my dogs were loved and exercised 3 times a day. I definitely recommend this service.

Heidi and her staff are extremely friendly and flexible. Heidi came to our house to meet with us, meet our puppy and get down his normal routine. They leave a little note each day they come with what they did with the dog, how he was, and other miscellaneous information. Their services are great and I would highlly recommend them!

Great!!!
Dogs are very excited to be taken out for a run. After their visit, they provide feedback; how the run went, potty time, they give praise, treats and point out any concerns they may notice on their visit

They were professional and obviously caring. They kept in good communication and left us note cards describing their visits and the name of the staff that made the visit. They came three times a day for 1/2 hour each visit. All of this cost us less than boarding and our animals did not have to leave their home for our week long vacation. I will definitely hire them again and have already recommended this service to a neighbor.

Heidi and Jen from DLR are wonderful. I had arranged for DLR to let out our puppy while my husband was out of town and I was at work. We usually have a friend do this, but I wanted to have a professional come out as well in order to better socialize our pup, Kaia. As others have noted, Heidi came out for an initial visit, and it was clear that she really knows what she is doing. More than that, Jen left detailed notes about her walks with Kaia, which gave me peace of mind.
What really stood out, however, was how accommodating Heidi and her team are. One of the days our usual friend/dogwalker was due to come, he cancelled last minute. I called Heidi, and even though she and her team were very busy, she personally went out of her way to go to my house and let Kaia out. It was incredible that I could call in a panic, and Heidi calmly took care of our pup with such short notice. Within the hour, Heidi called me back to say she had seen Kaia and gave me an update. Such professionalism and caring is well worth every penny, and I will definitely work with DLR in the future.

I want to say up front that I have been absolutely thrilled with DLR and their service and so glad I selected them for my dog walking needs, a selection that was based on the high reviews given here on Angie's List. But I'm not going to lie, my first few interactions with them were not great, and had me wondering if I had made the wrong decision. When Heidi, the owner, called me for the first time, she had an awful connection on her cell phone and it was a truly painful conversation to try to have, and at one point I thought she might have said something rude - but in retrospect I am certain I misheard due to the awful connection. Then she had to reschedule our initial meeting and didn't apologize for it - I'm a service provider myself and I cannot fathom not apologizing to a client (or potential client) for the inconvenience of not being able to make a prior scheduled appointment. Really, a very minor thing in the grand scheme of things, but again, these were my initial interactions so I was a bit put off at first. But I decided before doing anything to at least meet Heidi face to face, based on the fantastic reviews DLR had recieved. I'm SO glad I did - and would suggest anyone else do the same if they are similarly situated.
My whole experience after those initial hiccups has been fantastic. I brought DLR in because I had just adopted a puppy and work full time and needed someone to come in during the day for potty breaks for the puppy. I adopted the puppy on a Friday, Heidi's initial visit with me was on the following Monday, and the regular visits started that Tuesday - while I had told Heidi a few days before adoption day that I was going to need someone, it was still amazing to me that they were able to accomodate me so quickly. Heidi's initial visit was great, she was very kind and careful about getting all the information they would need about my puppy and any other related matters.
I also have an adult dog who is extremely fearful of strangers until he really gets to know them (which can take a while). He didn't require a potty break/walk during the day but I had hoped we could get him comfortable enough with the walker to eventually be able to be included. DLR was SO accomodating with him. I gave them very explicit, very detailed directions as to how to slowly interact with him, and they followed them to a T and provided regular progress reports. He is now friends with our walker and is able to go out with her every day.
Our walker... Patricia... I cannot say enough good things about her. I've only met her in person once, but it is obvious from her notes that she really enjoys her time with my dogs and them with her. Yes, DLR leaves daily notes, they actually have a form "report card" with check boxes that they leave daily with the appropriate items checked (dog did #1, dog did #2, they refilled water, turned on lights in house, etc.) and a personal note on the back. I love the check boxes - I can see the basics quickly and then flip the card over to enjoy the personalized note about what cute thing my dog did that day, or that my dog may have had some apparent GI upset, etc.
When Patricia was away on a short vacation and had a sub (Heidi) I was advised of the change in advance. And Heidi called me so we could discuss the best way to deal with my fearful adult dog. I'm so so thankful that they are so respectful of my adult dog's needs.
DLR is also extremely flexible. I have a regular schedule set up with them but randomly add or cancel visits with changes in my schedule and they are always prompt in answering my emails to confirm the changes, and I've never had a problem with any of the changes.
All in all, a fantastic service. Right now I have them coming for two 15 min visits at $14.95/visit but we've already discussed moving to one longer visit when the puppy is able to manage that. And when she's old enough, I plan to have them start running her, and it's great that I have that option in addition to normal dog walking. DLR charges by time - no upcharge for a second dog, or different activities, so in the future I will probably have them take my adult dog for a short walk and then run the youngster. I love that there's that kind of flexibility in what happens during visits.

They’re fantastic. I tried to use them for a dog walking service but my dog is a rescue dog. Heidi, the woman who runs it, was super professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. She offered to come and visit my dog so she could warm up for her and help me train her. I didn’t think it was gonna work out but Heidi was great.

"Roo is a super sweet pup! I'm sorry that she was so scared that day, even with meeting me ahead of time. Dog walking just wasn't going to work for little Roo. I'm sure she is flourishing with your love and care, Aimee!"

We were leaving town for a week and wanted to have our dog, Hunter, stay with my mother so both would benefit from each other's company. My mother's mobility is limited but our dog relies on his half hour walks twice a day (he is fastidious about elimination away from home) . We hadn't used a dog walker before, only relatives and close friends, since our our previous dog didn't get along well with strangers and we didn't know anyone in my mother's neighborhood to ask to help us. So we contacted Dogs Love Running. We received a response within 24 hours from our inquiry and Heidi accommodated a free trial walk on a Friday evening for us. From our initial meeting Heidi was warm and friendly as well as completely professional. She was solicitous of our needs and clear in communicating her requirements to us. It was obvious that she loved dogs and knew how to handle them from the questions and experience she related. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. Since my mother was there every day when Heidi came to walk Hunter we know she was punctual, thorough and treated our dog well. We were relieved and very pleased that the experience was so positive. We recommend Heidi Janss and Dogs Love Running highly.

"We loved coming to walk with Hunter! Both Patricia and I enjoyed his company during the times you had to travel. Hunter is a fantastic dog, who loves being on his walks. He was so excited to go; we could hear him barking as soon as we got out of the car. And he always greeted us at the door. I'm glad we could help you, Hunter, and your mom!"
