Car Washes
I google searched on line for a Naperville car wash facility that would also do a hand wax and interior clean. I found Clarks and looked up their website. The price was listed for what I wanted was listed at $59.95.
When I arrived I asked what it would cost and the guy said $125. I told him what was listed online and he went to the back of the shop and came back and said it would be $70. I asked if they also would vacuum out the trunk and he said yes and said they'd do a extra good job for me. I decided to just accept the seventy price.
He left me a vmail later, within the 2-3 hours he committed. I later picked up the car. In looking at it at the shop, it looked pretty nice and the inside was cleaned and well vacuumed.
When I got home I looked more closely. It did not have any evidence that they actually did a hand wax job. There was no powder or wax residue on any molding, nor where there were rock pock-marks on the front hood, all where you might have expected. There were liquid/water marks on a couple of edges. There were a few smudge marks that I am certain would have come out if they had truly used any elbow grease with a hand wax. It looked no different than if I'd taken it through the automated wash and maybe added the hotwax finish for a buck extra.
Lastly, I opened the trunk and it had not been touched.
