Rick was referred to us from a co worker. Seems nice enough pictures look nice brings in quality cabinets for kitchen. Gives us a three week time line. Great. Except 8 weeks later we still aren’t done. We had no change orders. Nothing delayed. All quality of work. Cabinets look good. But the backsplash is crooked and joints don’t match. Floors look nice except the places he scratched them (and denied) and nail holes through the tops of the boards! Paints trim after it’s put on a wall and comes back to paint the wall after he makes a mess. Smoked like a train leaves messes including cigarettes all over the garage. 6 weeks into a 3 week project (his date not ours) he’s off going fishing (never told us). Accepted the 9k countertop even though it was cut incorrectly. When o asked Rick how long he was going to be here and when is he going to fix Ian the floors or the paint or the back door replacement. He begins to yell at me in my house. I warn and remind Rick of who’s house he’s in and he continues to use profanity and blame everything and everyone else for his failures as the General Contractor. Finally finished the kitchen. Oops he forgot to vent the stove and microwave to the outside. Fine. Let’s cut our loses after the sloppy unsafe stair railings he installed. Offered either fixing all of these sloppy mistakes or walk without getting the last 10% of payment. He walked right out the door. He’s a hack. Awful work. It’s easy to take a picture of 10k cabinets and 10k floor and say it looks great. He didn’t build the cabinets. He didn’t manufacture the flooring. This is a 100 remodel. Looks great from 100 feet looks lousy at 10. Awful paint, can’t stress how bad his painting is along with his painters. Very messy. Grossly incompetent so much so I was willing to let him leave just so he didn’t continue to damage my home. Stay away
