On the day of the scheduled installation, Dennis showed up 15 minutes early and installed the new deadbolt lock in about 45 minutes. He was very professional and personable. The price for everything was the same as the quoted price except for the tax.

Greg arrived promptly when he said he would. He rekeyed the locks, cut new keys and made adjustments to the jamb making the locks fully and smoothly engage.

Greg was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix both problems.  He was polite and expeditiously fixed both issues.  Although he was held up at a previously customer, his office called to inform me he was running late and ensure that would be okay with me.  The charge for his service is very reasonable.

My door handle to my garage door broke in a locked position.  After several attempts and much research and advice I could not remove the handle myself.  I called MGN Lock, Key and Safe based on their proximity to me and their Angie's List reviews.  I could not have had a more positive experience. Dan at first gave me more information for what was needed to fix the problem myself.  When I still could not do it he offered to come right away himself even though all their other technicians were occupied till the following MOnday (it was Friday).  Dan came and within minutes pried open the lock, rekeyed the new doorknob to my existing key, and installed a brand new knob.  His professionalism, kindness, and customer service were impeccable.  They have just become my go-to locksmith for all my key needs. The price also was much better than I expected for such an issue.

Even though I had bought the lock at a competitor, they were extremely helpful in giving me tips for installation. Based on their advice, I was able to complete a difficult installation. I will definitely be using MGN lock in the future.

I had 4 Kwikset locks I wanted to rekey. I first checked the internet and found instructions for rekeying locks; the process looked somewhat complicated so I wasn't sure I wanted to do it myself as I had never rekeyed locks before. A few days later I bought a Kwikset Rekeying Kit at Home Depot for $10 but when I got home and tried the kit, it didn't work so I returned it for a refund.
I found MGN on Angie's List and the overall rating was and quot;Aand quot; I then contacted MGN via email, sending photos of one of my pairs of locks, one a deadbolt and the other a doorknob lock. I wanted all the locks accessable with the same key. Carl, the owner quoted $162 for the work so I scheduled an appointment for the following week. Pete showed up at the scheduled time and rekeyed the 4 locks. The job took about an hour and cost $162. My old keys no longer work which I what I wanted as some of them were in circulation. The new keys work on all 4 locks. I am pleased with the result

Not at all satisfied with the technical competency or quality of the repairman sent to my home. On a separate request, they sent a truck to unlock a padlock on my boat. Sent an older and more experienced locksmith, who did the job quickly and even returned my padlock. So overall mixed reviews with them, but still disappointed in the original house trip. I may or may not call them back to fix this lock again. However, if I do, I will insist on a more experienced locksmith and fair price.

We had used MGN about six years ago when we moved into our new home. They are a small business that has been around for many years. Their pricing is very competitive and they do good work. Friendly and easy to work with.

My husband went to MGN to purchase the lock and try to replace it himself. He had to go back several times for different parts for the door. In the end, he couldn't do it himself, so MGN sent out two techs the same day to replace the lock. It took 1 guy less than 5 min, and the other guy was talking on his cell phone the whole time and they charged me a whole service call. I was a little upset about that, but in hindsight the job got done and they did it right away.

The person who came was very good. The cost was a little high but he came immediately after I called him. The service he gave me was very good.

I knew that they had an office in Mundelein and that they had business for many years so I chose them for this particular specialized work that we had a need for. On a Saturday, Dennis very quickly and easily knew exactly what to do and he also took the time to elaborate on what we needed to know about it.

MGN did a great job. They came out the very next day and changed the tumblers in the existing lock and provided 5 keys per my request. I was very impressed. They got the work done quickly and very inexpensively given that it was a house call.

MGN had installed the original lock and when it gave out and needed to be replaced after many years of daily use we called them to come out again. They were prompt and efficient and replaced the mechanism.

Went very well. I called on a Friday and made an appt. for Monday morning. They called to say they were running a little late and were very apologetic. It really didn't matter to me. He replaced the locks as discussed, adjusted a back door lock that hadn't been installed properly (by someone else) and replaced a doorknob that had been discontinued because it could be broken into easily.

The technician arrived promptly. I pointed out the doors I wanted keyed. He noticed that the doorknob also had a spring lock in it and asked if it should be changed to match too. He changed all the locks and cut new keys. He even showed me how to reprogram my garage door opener codes for complete security.

THE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT AT 7 PM ON A SAT. AND GOT THE DOOR ''FUNCTIONING'' AND SAID HE WOULD COME BACK MONDAY AND FIX IT CORRECTLY AND REPLACE OUR CLOSER. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND REASSURING THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT MALFUNCTION OR FALL OFF SUNDAY AND HE WOULD FIX IT ON REGULAR RATES ON MONDAY. THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY ABOUT TO FALL OFF ITS PIN HINGES AND HE SHOWED ME THE PROBLEM. I AM JUST AMAZED HOW WELL THE DOOR FUNCTIONS NOW WITH THE NEW CLOSER AND THE FIX HE DID TO IT. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND CONSCIENTIOUS. I WILL NO LONGER HAVE TO REFER TO THE PHONE BOOK FOR A LOCKSMITH, THEY WILL BE MY FIRST AND ONLY CALL.
