MR. EDMONDS CLAIMS TO HAVE 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE CARPENTRY BUSINESS, AND WE RELIED ON HIS JUDGMENT REGARDING THE COMPLEXITY OF THE WORK AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT WOULD TAKE TO COMPLETE THE JOB. CLEARLY, HE UNDERESTIMATED BOTH. WHEN HE REALIZED THIS, RATHER THAN NEGOTIATING A COMPROMISE, MR. EDMONDS DEMANDED MORE MONEY AND SAID HE WOULD QUIT IF WE DID NOT PAY HIM. HE LEFT THE NEXT DAY AND NEVER CAME BACK TO COMPLETE THE WORK. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR.
Description of Work: WE HIRED #1 CARPENTRY (BILL EDMONDS) TO REPLACE THE INTERIOR DOORS IN OUR HOME. HE ESTIMATED THAT THE JOB WOULD TAKE ABOUT ONE WEEK FROM START TO FINISH. WE PAID HIM $3,000 INITIALLY, AND WERE TO PAY HIM THE REMAINDER UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK. MANY DELAYS AND SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE WORK WAS STILL ONLY PARTIALLY COMPLETE. THE NEW DOORS AND OAK CASING WERE ONLY PARTIALLY STAINED, AND NONE WERE HUNG.
