One Stop Intercom

Exactly as described. A new box was inset into the door panel and each unit had a new intercom installed and tested before Jay and his son left.

We are up and running. Jay knew the exact problem and repaired it the same day with 2 hours of labor.

The intercom/door entry system at my condo building was not working properly. I contacted One Stop Intercom and Jay came by that same day to provide an estimate. He was open and honest and suggested repairing rather than replacing. Within a few days, he secured a few parts and fixed the system. While other providers recommended more expensive replacement options, Jay was able to save us a lot of money by doing the repair!

I do not appreciate my time being wasted nor do I appreciate being lied to and would like a refund.  The representative from One Stop Intercom came to our building the week of 9/28 to look at the doorbell/intercom system and offer recommendations.  He spent approximately one hour and during that time told me that Doorbell Fon was no longer in business and therefore we would need a new intercom system.
I asked about replacing the current system with a more traditional system but he had objections to that and said it not feasible.  The building next door had the exact same system we have and they replaced it with a more traditional system for $700.00  He then told me "DoorBell Fon is NO longer in business."  I paid him $45.00 and he left.  A few days later the quote arrived for $1900.45.
When I contacted the other provider who had given me a quote $1100.00 using the Door Bell fon system he was appalled that a company would LIE about another company, claiming they were out of business.  I also checked and sure enough here's the link to DoorBell Fon - alive and well in Lisle Illinois.  http://www.homephone.com/
My reaction  stay clear of this unscrupulous company.  I have no doubt they will claim I am mistaken and their representative did not tell me DoorBell fon was out of business.  If that occurs it just add more insult to the already poor service.  Makes me also question the reliability of Angie's list. 

Great service. Responded quickly, set up an appointment same week. Was on time and communicative. Promptly diagnosed a problem that his competitor completely botched, and then fixed it. Then troubleshooted and repaired a bunch of other more minor issues. Got the system up and running and tested everything. Would definitely recommend.

It went very well.  Jay identified the problem right away and fixed the lock and intercom buzzer and buttons for a very reasonable price.  I would definitely use Jay for any intercom problems in the future and highly recommend him.

Jay returned my call immediately and agreed to come out the next morning to fix the intercom system for our small condo building.  He arrived exactly on time.  He seemed to really know his stuff and had the intercom system working again, as well as a separate entry system that was also malfunctioning, within an hour.  He installed a new speaker and corrected a poorly-done wiring job that had been worked on previously by another company (ET Locksmith).  He was very professional, courteous and efficient and his fee was very reasonable.  I would definitely use this company again.

Jay Walthall couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable. He identified the problem quickly and took care of it. I recommend him very highly and without reservation.

After having a couple less reputable providers explain to us that there was no way of knowing what was wrong, and that "the problem could be in the walls" (which we knew was ridiculous) Jay diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes of being at our place. He replaced the speaker downstairs, as well as moving it away from the power source, eliminating a loud buzzing we fought through even when it had been working. After that, he located the amplifier unit and then repaired it - testing the intercoms with us at every step so we saw what each repair improved. Finally, he replaced our head unit's buzzer buttons, letting us know that they were listed as being recently replaced in 2011 and making sure we still wanted them replaced (we did.) Overall, a ruthlessly efficient, yet totally friendly visit from Jay fixed out intercom to brand new condition at a cost far lower than we had been quoted previously.

He deserves A's.

Jay was great!  He was punctual, polite and helped me to understand the issues we were experiencing.  He really knows what he is talking about, and was kind enough to answer all the questions I had regarding the system.  I would recommend Jay to anyone having intercom issues.

He did a great job.  He's punctual, thorough, and explains things very well.  I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of.  I would use him again and recommend him to others.

This is the second time I've had the pleasure of working with Jay on an old intercom system in my 3 flat walk up. I couldn't be in town for this repair so I assigned an agent to meet him. Jay showed up on time at 8 a.m., ran some tests, figured out that the issue we had last year had become an issue again (no fault of his repair, rather a tenant placing a heavy item on the wire which had shorted out previously.) He repaired the wire and tagged it so as to hopefully avoid this in the future, and repaired a speaker that was also an issue. I had found Jay last year and am very happy with the service he's performed for me.

Doorbell Repar service was performed. Less than a month later the same problem occurred. Left 4 voicemails over the course of over a week to try and get resolved and NO one called back. 
I believe one should stand by their work. At the very least have the courtesy to call back.
Would NEVER recommend!
