We had ideas of what we wanted they helped with some design elements.  Specifically with placement of the door for the custom shower. They coordinated with our contractor with ordering and measuring for the countertops.  Helped with contacting our contractor with starting dates for the project.  They made a couple of trips to our home to measure and remeasure.  They were real helpful when we went to the showroom to pick out styles.   They even made suggestions of where to go to get the best quality products for what we wanted that they didn't carry yet.  They can refer excellent contractors to perform work for you if you don't know someone.

 The installation was accomplished by Mitch Place of Ratliff Brothers (618.294.2801) and I was extremely pleased with his skills.  Mitch was punctual, a problem solver, and came with both experience and knowledge that made everything run smoothly.  Mitch was  the gentle teacher type who lets his workers work until they falter, or seem distressed and then steps in with help or advice so that no one loses face.  He doesn't have to say much because everyone knows he is so very skilled at everything.   What I especially appreciated was that he helped me with some of my projects- like one of my walls that I had painted just wasn't smooth like it could have been.  I just couldn't seems to get it smooth- old wallpaper glue.  Well, his workers call him the mud king for a reason.  He took his trawl and put on some mud, let it dry, sanded it, and voila, my wall was improved.  The soffits look perfect, too.   If you want a no nonsense, low key, efficient guy, highly skilled, Mitch is your man.  Mitch builds houses.  He knows everything, it seems.  Alain Pierce picks good people.

We decided to remodel the kitchen which we were not looking forward to since it was involving tearing everything out to the studs.  Home Styles of Mt. Vernon made the job must easier.  They were recommended by another business in Mt. Vernon (that I trusted) due to the owners' experience and knowledge.  They have a good selection of quality cabinets available as well as counter tops, etc.  They came and measured.  I told them in general what I definitely wanted and they drew up the plan.  It worked out perfectly.   Good quality at reasonable prices.  The owners definitely have the experience and the knowledge.  Everyone very friendly and professional including the delivery staff.
