we had a unit that went bad and they came in and replaced the old one with a new one.We had some trouble with the unit and it wasn't their fault (bad equipment from the manufacture. Called them and they came out and replace the whole installation with a new unit much better.

I thought it was going to be great and inexpensive, but in the end it has cost me a lot of money and we are still repairing the damage. They did an unprofessional job on the duct work and did not put in a cold air exchange in a two story home, thus taxing the system to its limits. Every company that has come out to look at the problem has been shocked at the poor quality of the duct work. I think they could handle small repairs, but I sure wouldn't hire them to install a system.

I don't do this often, but, if you find yourself needing a new air conditioner or furnace, DON'T contact Affordable Heating and Cooling. HORRIBLE SERVICE except for one guy.
The first day they came to install the inside unit there was two or three guys I think. They took the old unit apart and did some work and then they had to leave to get other parts to it, but said they would be back the next day. Turn to the next day, and my friends, who were kind enough to drive me to the new house at 8am, and I sat in a freezing cold house for a few hours. Dustin called the place and was informed that the one guy who was going to come back that day had the flu. Which, in our minds, amounted to the day they left was that guys birthday (because they had mentioned it) and he was hungover and didn't come into work. But, we didn't get a courtesy call that they weren't going to come.
Speaking of the office employees, if you leave messages with the secretary, or ask her questions, she won't call you back or let you know anything.
We had nothing but problems with our brand new inside unit last year, it would freeze over and leaked all over my office floor causing me to rip my flooring up so they could replace the sub flooring. But not my carpet. In fact, before we talked to the ONE guy we liked from this company the owner was refusing to fix my floor! I'm not sure what the one guys name was that we liked, he was an older gentleman that always let us know what was going on and what needed to be done. And I'm pretty sure he's the only reason why my sub flooring was fixed. Because as the boss told my father in law over the phone "I'm not paying to fix the floor in your trailer (I live in a ranch style house?) the floor in there is ruined already."
Our thermostat that they installed also had issues. Now, this year, when we turned on our thermostat, nothing was blowing through the vents. Since our warranty (woo...one year warranty) was out with Affordable my husbands parents found a guy that one of their friends knows to come look at it. Long story short- its the outside unit that is BROKE because as the new guy put it "Affordable most likely put in the wrong kind of freon because the inside unit takes a different kind than the outside unit." And there is a chance that the coils in the inside unit are shot. We paid $1,500.00 when we first moved in this house to get a new inside unit...I'm SO glad that that $1,500 is going down the drain and this mistake that they could have made is going to cost us between $1,300-$3,000. And that's if the inside coils aren't broken I think. Do your research on this company! Don't choose them just because their quote was cheaper.
It is horrible that our inside unit is now potentially broken because it just turned a year old in Feb 2014.
UPDATE:
The problem that was found with out inside unit is they installed a 2.5 ton unit while our outside unit is only a 2 ton. Our new guy told us it caused the air compressor to burn out. We've been running on emergency heat all winter. There was NO reason why they should have installed a unit inside if it didn't match out pre existing unit outside. Now we need a new unit inside and outside for $4,000.

The work was excellent! When he came over, he found a leak in our system. Every Spring, the unit would freeze up on us and another company would refill the freon. They would explain that they are running out of freon and within the next few years, we would just have to replace the unit. When Doug came over, he found a leak in the freon and repaired it. He also completed a few other repairs as well. He is very affordable and reasonably priced. We have used his services three times now and he has always arrived exactly at the time he said he would.

We called this company twice because our furnace runs continuously even when the switch is off. A man named Roy came out both times and did nothing. He added freon to the air conditioner and that wasn't even necessary. He then talked to us like we were incompetent. I would never use this company again.

I do not recommend them. They did a faulty installation that cost 13,000 worth of damage to my house. They didn't put a sleeve in the chimney when they installed the furnace. The price was more expensive than what it should of been. Their punctuality and professionalism were horrible.
