I own a service business. My wife is almost compulsive when it comes to a neat house and she is an attorney. Dean Sordyl is an honest and skillful man. He takes great pride in everything he does. Even the smallest tasks. He makes sure you understand what he is going to do, makes sure you understand costs and is always on time, and is the neatest most careful craftsman I have ever met. He treats his clients like I treat mine. My wife was worried about a mess. It is hard to tear down drywall and carry it down from the second floor without dust. But when I came home from work. I saw no mess. Dean puts drops everywhere and cleans every day before he leaves. I believe,''you get what you pay for''. You can always find someone less expensive but quality is worth the additional cost. Dean is a real pleasant individual. He worked four weeks in our home and was always a pleasure. Bottom line Dean is an excellent man to call with any remodeling or carpentry project. Dean will never disappoint yo

I would not hire him again. After I explained what needed to be done he had a question for me every 5 minutes. Plus, he wanted me to fetch, bend and go get things/tools for him or bend over and clean up his sloppy work. He did not complete the all the caulking I had asked him to do. Then when I had to run to the store and when I came back I found him casually flipping through a magazine instead of working on the task I had asked him to do. So, I imagine I was charged for his magazine viewing time. On the plus side, the plumbing, screen door repair, and stove hood install was done well. His hourly rate (if he is actually working) is also very fair. If you can stand being annoyed to no end and have the time to babysit him, he'll do a decent job.

I CALLED DEAN SORDYL ON 8-23-05 AT 11AM AND WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 1PM THE SAME DAY. HE SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND PERSONABLE. HE FIXED THE DOOR BY USING A CIRCULAR SAW TO SHAVE DOWN THE PORTIONS THAT WERE STICKING. HE ALSO REPOSITIONED THE LOCK PLATE WITHIN THE DOOR FRAME SO THAT THE LOCK WOULD WORK. HIS PRICE WAS FANTASTIC. ON THE DOWN SIDE, I DID HAVE TO ASSIST HIM AT TIMES DURING THE WORK PROCESS. HE ALSO DAMAGED THE TRIM ABOVE THE DOOR WHILE REMOVING IT. I PLAN ON REPLACING ALL THE TRIM SO IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME MUCH, BUT IF IT WAS GOOD TRIM I WOULD HAVE BEEN UPSET. HE ALSO WASN'T AS THOROUGH CLEANING UP AS I WOULD HAVE WISHED (I RE-VACUUMED SAWDUST IN THE COMMON HALL). I WOULD RECOMMEND SORDYL SERVICES FOR SMALLER JOBS THAT DON'T REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF REFINEMENT.

DEAN IS CONSISTENTLY PROMPT, EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY, AND HELPFUL. HE IS GENEROUS WITH ADVICE AND REASONABLE WITH HIS PRICING.
