I am sorry to have to write this negative review for Jim because I think he is a good person and his installers do a good job. However he recommended a sliding door from Climate Solutions that warps when the temperature drops which makes the door very hard to open when it's below 50 degrees. Climate Solutions replaced the door but the replacement door has the same problem. Neither Climate Solutions nor North Shore Window and Door have a fix for the problem and will not give me a refund for the slider so I can get a replacement. This is a very expensive door and is the main access to our house from the garage/driveway. I think it is Jim's responsibility to stand behind the products he sells and installs and should have leverage with the manufacturer to get a refund when they provide defective products.

North Shore was great!  Jim and his team measured for and installed all new windows and a french door into new spaces during a larger rehab. The team was flexible on timing to fit into the larger rehab and even came back to re-do one window due to an error by the general contractor at no cost.  In addition to great work, Jim had excellent customer service and was a total professional overall!

Somehow toys got wedged into our sliding patio door and it went off the
track. Jim came out within an hour and fixed it for me, at no charge!
He also gave me very credible advice on windows and doors we plan to replace later this year.
He has extensive product knowledge, and is honest, pleasant and helpful. I'm now actually thinking of other windows we need to replace, just so I can call him!

Jim was great: professional, knowledgeable, courteous, honest, and affordable. The only downside was that we had to come up with the money up front, and we couldn't afford that much at one time, so we went with a company that offered financing. I would definitely recommend him and his products!

They were very accommodating, timely and did what they said they were going to do. The installation went smooth. There were a couple of issues that they had to come out to correct. They even had the window manufacturer come out and address some products that were not fitting well. They came back and took care of it real well.

I had an amazing experience with Northshore. I moved into a newly purchased townhouse condo from out of state knowing that it was going to need renovations. From the home inspection, I knew that many of the windows needed to be replaced. When I actually took possession, I quickly realized that it was ALL of the windows and the doors too. (see review of home inspector) I was referred to Northshore by a neighbor and called immediately. Jim was out to see me within a couple of days. We went through all of the windows and doors and put together a plan grouping the replacements into phases. He listened to my concerns and my plans for each room and helped me to pick the right windows with the right features for each spot. For example, I wanted to have inside mount wood blinds in a couple of rooms. He made sure we got enough space within the opening to accommodate them. We were also in the process of replacing the "contractor absolute minimal cost trim" throughout the place with something a little more individual and attractive. Jim was able to match the new casing style exactly. We had some non standard windows that were problematic. Jim brought in a Pella rep to review everything and fine tune the order. We got the first batch on order quickly. Once he had tentative delivery dates, he contacted me to schedule installation. The whole process was organized and efficient, for which I was really grateful since the rest of the reno wasn't. Installation day was a breeze. Jim worked with his crew and it went like clockwork. My place wasn't trashed and they cleaned up at the end of the day. They were even pretty patient when I had to relocate my cats from one room to another. The next two phases went as well as the first. I have to say that Jim is very good at what he does. He does quality work for a fair price in a timely fashion, but most important he is someone I can trust.

Anyone who has ever shopped for windows and doors knows what a daunting experience it can be. It becomes even more so if you are disabled. There are special features that are essential for windows and doors to have to allow them to be accessible for someone with a disability.

It has been my horrible experience over the last year to have dealt with many well-known window and door companies. Their only interest was acquiring the sale without any regard for a customer with special needs. They claim that their product is better than their competitors product all the while attempting pressure tactics to pursue the sale. I've heard a myriad of comments from these companies. "Our discount is only valid today. The free installation is only for this week." No one ever listened to the fact that my arthritic hands couldn't open their windows and doors. They only cared about the sale and the fact that we were replacing two large patio doors and every window in our home.

This was not until I had the good fortune to meet Jim Brock from Northshore Window and Door. Jim came to our home and listened attentively to my concerns about having windows and doors that I would be able to operate by myself. He said, "I don't want you to rush into buying a window or door that you cannot use." I couldn't believe that someone was actually listening to my needs. Over the course of the next few weeks, Jim brought to our home windows from different manufacturers made of different materials. He left them in our home for me to try for a few days to see which ones I would be able to operate by myself. In addition, he arranged for us to visit different manufacturer's showrooms to try other windows and patio doors that would accommodate my disability. We ultimately placed an order with Jim . His crew did a great job and completed the job in two days including staining and putting in molding to match our existing molding around the windows. It gives me peace of mind to know that I can operate all of these doors and windows by myself. It's great to know that there is a great company like Northshore Window and Door that gives individualized attention to the specific needs of their customers.

I most definitely recommend buying windows and doors from Northshore Window and Door.
