Mount Prospect Appliance Repair

Well I signed up for Angie's list basically just so I could put this review in and help others from dealing with this company. The service was for my condo (tenant experiencing the problems). I'm not sure if the guy they sent was someone that works for the actual company or if this is just a dispatching company that outsources to local handymen.  Guy showed up on time as expected.  The way he checked the ice machine was to press the button to distribute ice (which was already working).  He opened it up and decided he need to replace the entire ice machine (literally about 5 seconds of looking at it).  Not much troubleshooting involved. Ok so I could have purchased the part myself and easily swapped it out but I was hoping to save some money.  Fine, overpriced part + labor + service visit fee.  Next was the dishwasher.  The dishwasher was leaking from the front.  He messed around with it for a bit and ended up saying he was going to adjust the water level (extremely difficult to understand on the phone).  Messed with it for a bit and then basically said he needed to order the parts for the refrigerator and would be back.  Ended up coming back with a bottle of Dishwasher Magic Liquid (Cleaner) with the label ripped off (I can tell because the top part was still on there.  You can buy this at the grocery store for about $3.00.  So basically when all was said in done I paid $640 for basically a new ice maker and $3.00 bottle of dishwasher magic he tried to hide.  When going to replace the refrigerator my tenant asked him to put something under it when he moved it out (to protect the really nice hardware floors) and he argued with her basically telling her if she wanted something she needed to put it there.
To top things off the dishwasher was leaking the next day but after I found all this out I went over to the condo and basically figured out that the issue myself to avoid having to deal with these people again.  It was the soap the tenant was using was too sudsy and pushing out through the front door.  
The company called me a couple days later to ask me how much he charged me?  I told them and also told them that I would never hire them or this person again.  I said it several times and at no point did they even ask why.  
So absolutely AVOID AT ALL COSTS.  I wish I would have had angles list membership and spent 5 minutes looking for someone more reliable.
