Very good. We discovered on a Friday morning that our 17 year old furnace had stopped working. I called two local HVAC companies that morning. Skokie Valley was able to come out that afternoon. Michael gave us quotes for the available options, (80 or 95% efficiency, one or two stage.). They came out Monday morning and the new furnace was installed by noon.

Great job at cleaning. Really liked the estimator and details of information. Just could not afford the $8000 cost of a new basic line Carrier furnace and air conditioner.

We've used them for 30 years. We're getting ready to contact them in a couple of weeks to come out for the fall for the furnace. They come twice a year. They come once in the spring and once in the fall. We've had to replace two furnaces since we've lived here. They've done both, a central air unit, water heater, they've done all that. We trust them. They're always professional, and they're honest and reliable. I wouldn't go to anybody else. They're not the cheapest.

I've been using them for years. I'm so happy with them that I didn't shop around. They gave me an estimate, and I said okay. They came out the same day so triple-A. They come to my house every spring and fall. They're very helpful, very professional. They don't overpromise. They gave me exactly what I've asked for. I've never had a problem.

I have been using them for so many years, even before Angie's List. They are in the ballpark. Its not like that offer bargains, but they aren't outrageously high. That is why I still call them. I don't think there are any particular bargain, but I trust them. Any problem they come right away. This was an schedule thing. If I call and say my air conditioner isn't working, they come right away. There was one worker. The work took less than a half hour. What can you say about someone who comes to service your air conditioning. I can't get poetic here.

I do it every six months

They have been operating in this area for quite a long time, in my mind they are steadily going downhill. They have a very high turn over, you never knew if the person that showed up was qualified. I just didn't have faith in them anymore. I think they pulled one over on me. They said there was something wrong with my condensor, I saw what the problem was and they ended up tearing the guts out of this thing, I would not recommend them. If people are going to use them, they should be very careful on what they purpose to do and double check what they are saying is the truth.

Arty was here within an hour of the call and replaced parts quickly. He also clarified how the unit should be working when all is properly functioning.

They did the job, they knew what they were doing and the price was good. It was a bargain. Here?s the thing, there is a very expensive thermostat that goes with the system. I think another company?s bid included that expensive thermostat. These people gave me the option of not having it, because the system would operate with a very basic thermostat also. That might have accounted for the $300 or $400 difference.  I resent that the other company didn?t give me that option. I appreciate that Skokie Valley Air Control did. To tell you the truth, the personalities of the people at Skokie?s, they were not user friendly. They were kind of cold and took care of business, no smiles. I didn?t feel real comfortable, I don?t know how that would come across. I didn?t like them, but I used them. I would use them again.

The technician made sure to let me know what way the filter was supposed to go and any other information regarding the tune-up. The technician was very thorough and competent and I would use them again in the future.

We've been using Skokie Valley Air Control for more than a decade and appreciate their dedication to fixing HVAC units, rather than trying to sell new units. So, when they declared the furnace dead, we knew we could trust them. The project went quickly and seamlessly--and since we were without heat and the house was about 60 degrees inside--time was important. We were not charged an emergency fee. In fact, they worked with us to minimize the cost as much as possible.

In addition to good attention, interest and detail in the quote and information phase, their work on the installation day was A+. They arrived on time, laid protective floor covering across floors leading to basement and worked throughout the day until the job was done, system checked, radiators fully bled and work area thoroughly cleaned. The workers were very friendly and conscientious. I heartily refer this company. I will use them again to review and refresh my A/C system when the time comes.

OUTSTANDING. MIKE BYRON STOPPED BY TO GIVE ME AND ESTIMATE, AND HE ANSWERED MOST OF MY QUESTIONS BEFORE I COULD EVEN ASK THEM. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. HE ALSO THREW IN THE COPPER TUBING AND A CONDENSOR PAD ON TOP OF AN ALREADY VERY COMPETITIVE QUOTE JUST TO GET MY BUSINESS. THREE WORKERS SHOWED UP PROMPTLY ON THE INSTALL DATE, AND COMPLETED THE WORK IN ABOUT 3 HOURS. EVERYTHING WENT VERY SMOOTH, AND THE SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN RUNNING PERFECTLY SINCE THE INSTALL. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN HAPPIER OVERALL WITH A CONTRACTOR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.   

They are terrific.  We've had them come in a few times over the last few years.  When we first bought the house,we had to replace the water heater and they came out & vented it for us.  In the last couple of years the old A/C units were dieing and we did not have much cash to spend on replacing them.  They gave us a freon injection last year, which was great, but this year, both condensers died so we had to replace them.  We got 2 quotes, and Skokie Valley's was the least expensive by far.  We're still waiting to hear from the 3rd person who came out to give us a quote.  Once we decided to replace the units they came out that same week and were done in about half a day.  It has been SOOO nice and cool ever since.  They also provided financing through Wells Fargo.

I have used Skokie Valley Air Control for 14 years and with three houses.  They have serviced my air conditioner and furnace, installed 2 furnaces, installed 2 humidifiers, fixed a knocking noise in my ducts, replaced a thermostat and now taken out a free standing fire place in a new house I just bought.   I have had a number of different service men and all of them have been great.  They come on time, are friendly, honest with pricing, and do a good job.
