I was a Greenlawn Landscaping customer for over 15 years. They were well run and responsive. Before they changed ownership to Kord Staley, they had become less responsive. Kord took over and was great. A couple years in and they’ve gone back to being unresponsive. When the crew does come they do good work. However, you have to pester and follow up via email phone and text to get them to respond. And usually it’s, “we have been busy”. They are clearly understaffed. This October, after 15+ years, they stopped coming and stopped responding to any form of communication. DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT IN BUSINESS.

The crew did a great job. The job was well staffed. They pulled out the grass and replaced it with leaf much. They cleaned up the site after they finished.

The work is wonderful, and the maintenance reasonably priced (less than half what others have charged). My only quibble echoes what others have said: they have not been great at keeping me informed of delays. But apart from that, really a top-notch company (who would get an easy A were it not for the one flaw).

Very well. Everything went in last fall and, with the exception of a couple of small bushes, the arbor vitae and the other bushes have been blooming and look healthy in the Spring. Our contact at Greenlawn has agreed to come back and look at the small bushes to discuss options for further care or replacement

My experience has been extremely varied. Last fall they were unable to do a cleanup for the season, due to an “unforeseen emergency“ and did not inform me until I called them. This season so far, they did a great job at reseeding and a spring cleanup, but today was my first maintenance, and the crew was here for less than five minutes and didn’t attempt to go into the backyard — and in fact blew everything from the front into the back under the gate. Very responsive but poor quality of work performed — or actually, not even performing the work that I’ve been billed for.

Like other reviewers, their responsiveness is poor. When they do respond, and it’s mostly their fault for a problem, they find innovative ways to acrobat out of honoring their policies. Just all-around terrible customer service. Prior to installation of a $3K job, didn’t even bother calling Julie to make sure they weren’t going to sever power lines (which they did) and, of course, they find a nice acrobatic way to contort our of paying the additional $1,000 emergency repair costs. The plants they put in in July were sad, sad, sad—like the leftovers from some back-of-the-yard nursery; I found nicer stuff at Gethsemane at the same time of year, so why? I specifically say in design that I want NO daylilies and they plant daylilies but under the Latin name... grrr! Fruit tree is diseased because of its waterlogged location (which they couldn’t tell when they were doing a French drain for the property?) and, of course, they don’t cover the warranty. It has to be dead, and not dying. But you shouldn’t have put the plant there if it has water problems you know about! Nope—my fault because I should be spraying and blah blah blah. Another acrobatic contortion to have zero liability. Lawn service is good, but $5 more a month than most other places. Billing is a disaster! Some months you’ll not get a bill and then a scolding email that your invoice is overdue. I really did love their spring clean up and fall clean ups. They did an awesome job at that. But the other shenanigans can’t outweigh their poor designing skills, crappy customer service, and inconsistent billing. They just don’t seem to have their stuff together and if they can get out of doing any customer service, they will. I’ve decided that their service is just stinkeroonies so I’d go with someone else since they’re not the only game in town.

My main complaint about this company is that they are very poorly run and unresponsive. I had to chase them down with multiple phone calls and emails for pretty much everything. It was a very frustrating experience and took up way too much of my time and effort. Once you hire someone to do a job, you expect them to proactively schedule dates and notify the customer of when that will happen. I waited months for them to do these two pretty straight-forward and simple tasks. When I decided to hire Greenlawn to do this job, it was around the middle of May. I understand that this is a busy time of the year for most landscaping businesses, however, it shouldn't take over two months to get to the job. If that's the case, then they are over scheduling, need to hire more crew or perhaps need a new manager. The workers themselves were skilled enough and did a nice job with the raised bed with hardscape. The quality of the work was good but overpriced considering the hassle I went through to get it done. Under their current managerial infrastructure, I would never hire these people again.

Response time to get a quote was good. Quote was clearly laid out. It took some prodding to find out when were on the schedule, once we had sent in partial payment. I then had to follow up when they missed the first date due to weather. They did show up when they said the second time and completed the work as described in the quote. Nothing more, nothing less. The business office was communicative and responsive in a timely manner. I would utilize them again, and anticipate doing so on a different property in the spring.

Original contract signed in mid-May. There were several changes in getting it calendared to a specific date (the scheduled date moved three times, because of weather and other clients) and so you don't have say you have in the date they select. Work was completed on July 20th. The crew that came onsite were excellent, very responsive and personable. Didn't have enough sod (needed one roll) to finish and came out first thing the next morning. The crew definitely made up for the scheduling delays.

They didn't tell us when they were coming to do certain things. They aerated our lawn really late in the season like the last week of October. I think it was a little late to get that done. I had it done like 6 weeks before that. I remember I sent them an email saying, 'When are you going to do that or when are you planning to do that?' They had actually just done it the day before or earlier that day. I felt a little silly. It had been a long time and I was thinking, 'When are they coming? Have they forgotten?' That was the only thing where I really kind of felt that they dropped the ball little bit. Other than that they are very good. For price, I think they are very competitive. Price is all broken down depending on what you are doing. They charge us I think $25 or $26 to cut our lawn but that is just the tip of the iceberg. If you have them doing any kind of seeding or putting down pit marsh, fertilizing and all that kind of stuff, there is a whole range of pricing. They do fall and spring cleanups and all kind of stuff like that. We probably spend over the six month season or whatever it works out to close to $700 with them or more because it is $25 a week just for cutting the lawn. It is probably close to about $800. They are inexpensive for the grass cutting but I can't really say whether they are competitive or not for other services but they do a good job. Aerating was $95, spot seed and putting down some pit marsh was $155 and they charge $9 a bag for disposing yard waste like weeds. That was all part of the fall wrap up of the season. They are very good with responsiveness. For punctuality, they come on the days that they are scheduled to come. I would give them an A except for that late season aeration. Their work is very high quality and they are very responsive to any questions you have. They also have a lot of options in terms of services that you may not consider but you might pick them up on like yard decorating/Christmas tree decorating. You may not thing that that is something that your lawn company would do but I got an email from them about that. They have a good variety of services and they are kind of innovative in that sense, that is good. They are female owned.

We had some problems because they were originally supposed to be here on July 22nd, but it was too hot. It eventually got moved to Wednesday. Eventually they did the work and they did it quickly. They did a beautiful job, and they were nice people.

There was a little delay in getting it calendared to a specific date (the scheduled date moved twice and there isn't much of a say you have in the date they select) otherwise the work itself was completed quickly and effectively. The only feedback I would share is where they replaced some river rock along the side of our house there was a decent amount of old building scraps (old broken pipes, bricks, etc) that was all moved out of the original spot but then just scattered into different piles in other places around our yard and outside our home. I would have preferred they asked and just moved it all to the trash. This isn't a huge deal but just wanted to mention.

The installers showed up at my home for the installation and said they ran out of the color of patio bricks I chose. Who shows up at the customer's home ready to work and announces - we don't have the color you selected? This should have been dealt with the day before installation with a phone call to discuss and not when the installers show up. The skills of the workers are good however, whoever is coordinating these things ought to be reprimanded on the tactic that was used. I think this points to Dee. I am a little disappointed about the clean up as well. I had rocks in the alley by my garage and leftover sand pouring out onto my sewer cap. I am getting ready to sell my home or I would have sent the workers back to install the correct color. They didn't even offer me a discount to make up for this and why I will not use them again.

They charge $23 to cut each time. They charged for weed applications. I had a big problem with that. They have my e-mail address and as soon as I ordered something, within a short while, I get the bill for it. I got the bill for weed applications, but they never came to do it. So each month, I would get bills for it. When I wanted to meet with them they were always busy. I have security cameras. When they did the lawn service, I went back and filmed it and put it on a disk drive and I took that with me. That took hours. We finally met. He went through all the information and they forgot to put me on the list. They always bill right after I order a service. It's really annoying. There are people who do weed control and I would never ever do that again. I'm really seriously considering not using their lawn service. They do excellent work with cutting the lawn. Unlike other lawn services, they did not run into the garage or do any damage. I was satisfied with that but weed service, I would never go through that again. They don't forget to charge but they don't remember to put me on the list to have the work done. They did reimburse everything I paid. It's still a sore spot with the weed control.

Everything went great. From start to finish, they showed up when they said they would. They worked with me on my custom design I created for my brick paver walkway, something other landscapers would not do. I received multiple quotes and Greenlawn was the best. Communication, which I prefer to do through email, was always quick and responsive. There was a little extra work that I forgot to mention at the time of the estimate, and they quickly assessed and added it to my project. The finished product exceeded my expectations.

I've been using them for a year or two. When they see big weeds or something, they could pull them but they don't seem to do that. They just do whatever needs to be trimmed in the yard. Their pricing is good. They come when they are supposed to every week. I am pretty satisfied with their work.

It looked beautiful, but the sod and a couple of the plants died pretty quickly after install.  We let Greenlawn know about the problem and they came back out within a couple of days and replaced everything.  Good as new!
