ABLE HEATING COOLING & REFRIGERATION

It's a small outfit, I like the guys.

I've used them before. When he called me, he said that he didn't have enough hours. I had them look at my furnace and the part that is causing the issue cost about $30 if I were to get it myself. They wanted to charge me $577. I declined to have the work done.

It's a small company. He's really good at what he does and done what has to be done. I would use this provider again in the future.

We called several service providers for estimate.  Upon knowing that we are Angie's list member, Don offered a good price and to match lowest prices.  He gave several options for furnace and AC.  Upon receiving deposit, we scheduled a date to install furnace.  AC was installed a week later.  There was no urgency to install them sooner.  Don is very detail oriented, and installation was carefully done.  We would definitely recommend him and will call him for our furnance/AC maintence.  Thanks, Don.

Don had the blower motor out in half an hour and went out to get the replacement.  He returned and installed the new motor.  He had it fixed in two hours total.  Don is very skilled and knowledgeable.  I am a retired mechanic and he is a craftsman I can appreciate: pleasant and value orientated.  If you need a furnace repair, you want him.

Don, the owner of Able Heating, responded immediately to a request for fall checkup / maintenance for two furnaces.  The other (larger) HVAC outfit I formerly used required a 2 week lead time, so I really appreciated the timely response.  What especially impressed me about Don is this:  He determined why my air purifier was not working, assessed what it would take to get it working (essentially a replacement), and MOST IMPRESSIVELY, recommended how we could still maintain some air purification from the unit by utilizing special replacement filters inside the unit .  NO other HVAC service company ever took the time to evaluate the issue, explain it to me in easy-to-understand terms, and provide an economic workaround.  I'm always on the lookout for good service companies where excellence is a passion -- you normally only find that with an owner-operator situation -- as with Don at ABLE.   I've used a lot of HVAC firms over the years, and ABLE is head and shoulders above the rest.  (Oh yes, his price for the service was very economical, as well.)

Don was very punctual and professional when he came out to fix my boiler.  He identified the problem right away and fixed it for a very reasonable price.  He was friendly and helpful the whole way through and I would definitely use Able Heating and Cooling again.

Called Don on Friday evening after our 16-year old furnace went out.  He came out Saturday, diagnosed the problem and replaced the spark igniter module...pretty pricey but our furnace apparently needed it because it worked immediately.  Unfortunately, there was a problem with the module...it kept showing an error message.  Don kept trying to get it to work properly but  was unsuccessful.  He said he would call the company Monday, return and reinstall it without charging additional labor.  
Which he did...but he still had issues with the module and returned it to the vendor to get a replacement, where he learned it was out of stock.  He was offered a different brand module...and that one didn't work at all!  So he went to a second vendor and purchased out of pocket a module that was the same as the first, knowing that the initial vendor would probably not take back the return.  After all, what's the likelihood of  two bad modules?  
My point is this.  The reason we selected Don to begin with was his excellent reputation and he lived up to it...he was not willing to leave until the job was done right, even if it dug into his own pocket.  While we all wish companies would provide this service -- that's why we're Angie's List members, after all -- few are as thorough and committed to getting it right, despite whatever obstacles occur.   So thanks so much, Don, for your perseverance!

I called Able around 2:30pm and Don showed up by 3:30. I was having issued with my a/c and needed it repaired quick due to incoming guests. Don showed up quickly and repaired my a/c right away. He also gave some quick tips on how to save some money on my gas bill. He was very professional and polite. I would definetly recommend Able for quick, reasonably priced HVAC service!

VERY WELL.  DO TO EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS CREATING SOME EMERGENCIES, THERE WERE SOME SHORT STOPPAGES WITH WHICH WE HAD NO OBJECTIONS.  WE ARE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE UNIT AND OUR EXPERIENCE WITH ABLE.  DON WAS A TERRIFIC VENDOR, AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS COMPANY.

Our air conditioning unit stopped functioning last night. We called Don at 7:30 am this morning and he arrived at 9:15 am. He was on time, polite, courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem within 20 minutes, answered all questions and explained the procedure he would use to fix it. He left to get the parts, returned and completed the repair in 30-40 minutes. He thoroughly tested all components of the ac equipment afterwards, everything was working properly and he honored the Angies List coupon. We will definitely call Don again for our heating/ac needs; he was quick and efficient and we are very happy to have our air conditioner back in working order. Thanks, Don!

Able came in and replaced an A/C unit, a furnace, routed a new line set and installed an A Coil.  From start to finish Don and the crew worked hard and were very courteous. They finished on time and all the workmanship was above and beyond my normal contractor experiences. By far Able was one of my top contractor experiences.  If and when I have to do this I will most definitely go with Don and Able.  

We got an appointment the same day and weren't charged extra for an "Emergency Appointment" that others were charging. Don was very nice and worked very quickly. He cleaned up after himself and took the time to explain exactly what was going on so that we were kept in the loop. We're just happy that we finally found someone who could fix the heating for good!

Everything was done per contract, and timely manner.

This summer our company building A/C went out on a Friday afternoon and the employees were without any A/C! Able HVAC cooling service came in the afternoon and thankfully we had our A/C back in full effect! They replaced some parts tested it and viola!  I strongly recommend Able HVAC! Prompt, clean, and professional are the only words that describe Able. Don , the tech was very polite and did the job quickly and efficiently. They even followed up with me on Monday evening which was nice. 

The month of July this summer was HOT HOT HOT, unfortunately my AC busted. A neighbor suggested Able Heating Cooling & Refridgeration and I couldnt be any happier with the company.  Living in Northbrook, IL and having to drive to the city for work, with my busy schedule staying at home and waiting for a "anytime from 10a.m.-5p.m." service is almost impossible, but with Able Heating Cooling & Refridgeration company they assured me they would arrive within the hour.  Although they came litterly 30 mins after I hung up; they promised to call right away if they would be late for any reason.  I like a company that keeps me in check.   Starting with pricing they were the most reasonable.  Don came out really fast, he answered any questions I had and was really nice, professional, knowledable and courteous.  He assured me that the problem was fixable.  My new AC was installed in 3 hours his work is very clean.  They warrenty their services and I would recemmend them to everyone!
