The problem ended up being a disconnected wire. The tech went ahead and performed the Fall Furnace check we had contracted for and we were not charged extra for the no start service call.

On 10/13 our heater broke I called Bill's and was told that there were no openings for the next few days, but that they would call me as soon as something became available. Tired of waiting and with snow in the forecast, on 11/8 I called them back and was told that someone would be out the next day. The man showed up right when he said he would, but after waiting almost a month, I wasn't impressed. I had a coupon that stated clearly 1/2 off a service call. They ended up giving me 1/2 off the diognotstic fee. Apparently $70 is their normal charge. The technician was nice enough, but kept going back to his van to get things, after he returned he smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. As a non-smoker I am glad he didn't smoke in the house, but as the entire call took 2 1/2 hours I don't understand why he needed so many breaks. Overall they were only okay. I'll be looking elsewhere from now on.
