Our Central air went out during 100-degree weather, so we needed to fixed ASAP. Doug’s came out to give us an estimate on replacing the whole system, including removal of old boiler. The price wasn’t bad, and they could start on Monday the following week, so we agreed. 1 guy showed up to start tearing out old system, and we were told that everyone else called off or had "school". He didn’t even show up till around 9:30, when they were supposed to be there at 8am. Needless to say, not much got done the first day. He informed us that his plan was to drop the new furnace beside the old boiler and then worry about tearing out the old later. This would make us lose a huge portion of our basement, which is also my fathers-in-law “apartment”. We told him we wanted the new furnace where the old boiler was sitting (on a raised concrete slab). He got the old boiler and the old central air removed (which we partially helped with), the new furnace in place (not hooked up, just sitting there), and then called it quits around 2pm. The next day nobody showed up! Three guys showed up on Wednesday. They tore open the old thermostat, which still sits on my wall, wires all hanging out and exposed. They also started cutting holes in my tile floors for the registers, but they had nothing covered or had no venting for all of the dust. They didn’t even so much as open my windows for fresh air. When I came home from work, I couldn’t even breathe it was so bad. My whole house was nothing but a dust cloud. It took me 4 hours that night to clean my entire house and get rid of all the dust, just to have them come back the next day to do it all over again. He offered to send the guys back out to clean it up, but this was after 5 by the time I finally got ahold of someone. I didn’t want a bunch of people in my house after 6 o’clock at night, cleaning and staying till probably 8pm. I worked all day, all I wanted to do was sit down and relax in peace and quiet. They locked my cat in a bedroom and left him there for most of the day with no litterbox or food. I had cat poop all over my bedroom floor. They installed the return vent next to the hallway and kitchen and the cover isn’t even stable and flat. There’s a 2-inch gap between the floor and the cover, so every time you step on it, it’s like a teeter totter. They said they would fix that, but never did. They also cracked a couple tiles while cutting the hole for the return and never even attempted to fix that either. So now I have a jagged ceramic tile tilted up where the grandkids or anyone can stumble on or get cut. The return register is also so loud, you must have the TV volume up past 30 to even barely hear it sitting 5 ft away from it. One guy showed up on Friday. I asked for 2 vents in the basement but to please make sure my disabled father-in-law could close the air vents off if it got too cold in the basement since the thermostat is upstairs. They put ONE vent in, on TOP of the furnace where my father-in-law CANNOT reach! We must go downstairs to shut it for him every time it gets to cold downstairs. They were also supposed to close off the registers going to the old whole house fan in the ceiling that was left, so we weren’t cooling the attic, but that was never done either. The house is never below 70 degrees, so what did we pay for? The windows are always fogged up because the registers were put directly underneath them, blowing up. We told the guy what we wanted fixed, and he told us he would let his boss know and the boss would get back to us. That’s been about a month ago, including me calling them a couple times, and still nothing. My advice….If you want it done RIGHT without all the headaches and stress…DO NOT call these guys!!!!

Service was good. They did a good job. Workers where prompt, cleaned it all up and they took a week for the installation. It was a difficult system to figure out and they did a good job in that.

I submitted a service request through our home warranty service due to our furnace not working and unfortunately was directed to Doug's. I submitted the request over the weekend and had someone call me first thing Monday morning which was great. Our furnace at that time was running a little better so I spoke with the woman who called me and explained the situation. She was polite but told me that if it was working when the repairman got to our house, there would be nothing for them to fix but I would still have to pay the $60 fee to our warranty service to have someone come out. I told her I would hold off and if the furnace was still not working right when I got home from work that evening, I would call back and leave a message.
The next morning, I woke up and there was cold air coming out of our vents and our house was freezing. I called and left a message for them explaining that our furnace was still acting up so I would like to have someone come out and take a look at it. A different woman returned my call and said that they were pretty booked but they could squeeze me in that day. I explained that I had several meetings at work that morning I simply could not miss but I would be available later in the day. She assured me that was fine and that no one would be availbale until the end of the day anyways. In between meetings at work at about 11am, I received a call from the same woman letting me know that someone was on their way out to our house now and would be there shortly. I told the woman that I was currently unavailable and unable to leave work. I also reminded her that I had just been told a few hours ago that someone would not be out until later in the day. I even said I would be available in about an hour and a half but could not leave work at that time due to circumstances beyond my control. Her response was " Well he's on his way out now and he can't just wait around, that's not what they pay them for."

Are you kidding me?!? I immediately called our warranty provider and requested a different company which they happily provided. The only reason I didn't give this company an F was that the first lady I spoke with was polite and I never actually used their services. I would strongly recommend, however, that they provide their operators with some customer service training.

Price was a little high but have used them in the past. Professional install in a timely fashion. They will continue to be may Htg and A/C company of choice. Would highly recommend the company and the employees. Had a little problem with water leak after the installation but they returned the next day to fix problem, it was simply a cracked pvc elbow .

Technician was prompt, courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and explained the problem. It was not necessary to perform any repairs since the furnace managed to engage on it's own by the time the technician arrived. He did check the system prior to leaving.

Matt, owner, came to give me an estimate on Trane or York central air conditioning system to replace my leaking one. One of 7 estimators. Showed me the exact location of the leak within 5 minutes of looking. Gave me the best unit, with the best estimate and 10 years parts and compressor warranty and 5 years labor warranty as well. Pleasant, positive, courteous, and prompt. Work was done well and unit has functioned perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone for heating, air conditioning and back-up generators as well. They are now working on my back-up generator.

Doing the A/C check things went fine. When Josh removed the vent covers, however, it turned into no easy task. The vent covers have been up there since my house was built several decades ago. The screws to remove the covers were a really tough for him to remove and when he pulled the covers off bunches of insulation fell on him. I was so impressed when Josh stayed upbeat and polite throughout this job. It was a gross job and not once did he complain. He was a very polite and professional young man. I continue to be very happy that I bought my new furnace and A/C from Doug's a few years ago.

We love the furnace; they have done a good job. The price for the checkup was part of the initial installation agreement. They do what they say they are going to do and are all professional; they are really good. I will use them again in the future.
