No problems - the blockage was about 60 feet from the sink and was flushed out. Plumber was Steve; he was on-time, professional and continued working until he was confident the blockage was clear. I feel the price was fair and contacted R. J. Graham Plumbing again to have a laundry room faucet replaced on May 12th, 2014. The plumber was Steve again; price was fair and he did an excellent job. I intend to call them one more time to fix another plumbing issue we have in our home.

I am very happy with the service, as it has solved a problem that we have had since we moved into the house. The technician came and gave an estimate on Saturday and they installed the system that Monday. He installed the sump (which is whisper quiet) and the backup and it took about 6 hours total including the trench work. Since the installation we have had several heavy rains and the system worked as advertised. While the company did not have the ?cheapest? price we did not want to skimp on quality or service. I would recommend this company to anyone of my friends or relatives and I found them here on Angie?s list.

RJ Graham Plumbing was an impressive company to work with. I had an appointment with them for next week, but my leaky sump pump got worse yesterday. I came home from work to a lot of water in the basement. I called to see if they could come out the next day instead of the following week. They returned my call, which was after normal business hours, almost immediately . They were able to schedule a plumber to come out with extremely short notice today (the day after I called, a week ahead of the original appointment). I was so impressed right off the bat with this excellent customer service! Then, today the plumber came, he was punctual, professional, courteous, answered all of my questions, and fixed the sump pump quickly! The price was very reasonable, and we are so grateful that they were able to fix our sump pump. Thank you RJ Graham Plumbing! Will call you for all of our future plumbing needs!

I'm looking over my reviews and re-thinking some initial feedback. These guys did good work, were friendly, etc. I have no issues. In f act, I changed the recommendation from No to Yes. and tweaked my rating. That said, I do think this offer is a bit disingenuous. All installations need to be fitted. Almost all water heaters are old and use older connections. I don't think my setup was special. Thus, you cannot really get a water heater for $800. At $1000, it's still a good deal, but you may want to go with your normal folks at that price.
Description of Work: Installed new water heater. They added $200 in fees. They blew out the oven pilot so house was filling with gas. They came back and resolved that issue.

Thank you for the review . I want to clarify the fees that you stated in your review. You purchased a water heater big deal special for $799 . It was stated in the big deal offer that any adjustments if needed were not included in the offer. They were an additional charge if needed. All houses are different some need them some don't. These adjustments are usually on the gas, flue and water. Member was made aware of the possibility on adjustments being needed both by angie's list messaging and via phone conversation prior to scheduling the appointment. These potential charges were never hidden. Upon arrival we found that the water pipes and gas line had to be modified to fit the new water heater. The gas valve was also replaced. With labor and materials it came out to the $200 that the member stated in his review. This price was given before work was started and member agreed to the additional work. At any point the member could have said no and not had the new heater installed and got a refund from angies list. He chose to go ahead with the installation. To install the new gas valve we had to turn the gas off to the house. When the gas was turned back on, the water heater was fired up and tested for operation. The member has an old stove that still functioned off of pilot lights which went out when gas was turned off. We were unaware of this and the customer called a few hours later stating they smelled gas we went back and discovered the pilot light issue. We lit the pilot light on stove and problem was solved. We apologize for the inconvenience we didn't think to check for pilot lights due to the fact that most appliances with the exception of the water heater have electronic ignition.

I was very pleased with the services provided by RJ Graham. They made three trips to my house, one to assess my problem and two more to do the work. Each time they were professional and efficient and took the time to explain what they were doing. I really appreciate the fact that they worked around my schedule without alot of lead time. They replaced my sump pump on the first trip. I later decided to fix the second problem I had which was a hole in the sewage basin that was causing the basin to fill with ground water. They came back a second time to do this work. The quote they provided to dig up the sewage basin, replace with a new one, hook everything back up and pour new concrete around the pit was only 1/3 of what others wanted to charge me to do the same. Yeah.....I'm happy!

I wrote the service via Angie's List pm after the service made initial contact via pm, and never received a reply. However after calling, I found out they had a technical challenge on their end, and the receptionist was very polite, nice and helpful- so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I had a problem with their original scheduled time, and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. This is a small company- maybe half a dozen people or so, small enough to really listen to the customer and be helpful without the "big business" mentality one so often sees. Very pleased with the service- enough so that if there comes a time to need their service again, I will surely call them.

Things went well...They successfully rodded the sewer line within about an hour. Steve was very professional (and also has a good sense of humor !). No other details to share. I have used RJ Graham for other work in my home since this time, and they did an excellent job (I had a utility room wash tub installed, old water softener removed, and new water heater gas line and water lines installed. They gladly took away my old water softener and worked without breaks until the job was done. Pricing was competitive and reasonable.

Overall, I was pleased with the work. The gentleman arrived promptly, was courteous and friendly. He flushed the hot water heater, and checked for a gas leak in our hot water heater that we asked for. During the inspection, they recommended a new sump pump, and fixing the water spout in our shower that was sticking out a little far from the wall. He was professional, and everything was great. For replacing part of a pipe in the gas line for the water heater, I thought the price was at least double for what he ended up doing. He did fix a sink handle fixture at no cost, so that mitigated some of my cost issue, Overall I was pleased and would recommend and consider them in the future.

We called our usual plumber but he could not till the following monday. We were worried that the leak could get bigger by then. The man came out within the hour. Assest the problem end told us the kitchen faucet was leaking and two copper elbows has failed. We agreed on the price and he quickly repaired the elbows and replaced the faucet. He cleaned up all I asked him to & took care of the rest. It was sloppy outside so he wore shoe covers.

I used RJ Graham Plumbing twice. The first time was a pleasant enough experience. Two people showed up to assess and fix the problem. All the work they did the first time seemed reasonable. They arrived on time. They were polite. They were professional. They did work hard to recreate the water flow and isolate the problem. Water was all over the carpet and coming from the bathroom. They figured it was probably the toilet wax seal as soon as they lifted the toilet and saw the pipe. However, we had already booked a camera inspection with them to diagnose the problem and they had brought out the equipment so I ended up paying for that and the wax seal. Obviously, they can't see through walls or the floor. They did do a good job of trying to isolate the problem and they were nice. It ended up costing a bit more than I would have like but they were profession. The problem was fix and remains fixed. So when I had another problem coming from the same bathroom. I called them again. They did fix the problem the first time and they were professional. We believed the water was coming from the bathtub. We had already ran water ourselves to isolate the problem. Waited a long time until things dried up then ran water only from one source for a long while. We were pretty confident having done this over several days that it the water problem was when we took showers. Called RJ Graham again. They changed there policy, instead of free estimates, they charge $80 if the person is at the home longer than 30 or 40 minutes. Although, I could have called a different company to get a free estimate, I was happy with how they treated me the first time. This time, a worker arrived again, on time. We told him the issue and about the tub and past history. He did run water for 30 to 40 minutes from the toilet, sink, and shower to isolate the problem but really didn't seem to be paying that much attention. He seemed to just be running water. Had an attitude and didn't seem like he wanted to be working that day. We after touching a small pipe that screws into the wall from the shower head, he concluded it was that pipe that was leaking. We didn't believe that this could be it and told him. It was like a bathtub had emptied on our carpet. He pointed to a small drop of water on the pipe and said he was sure it was that. No water damage was evident anywhere near from the top of the pipe down both side of the wall (shower side and the side of the other room). We told him it couldn't be it, but he was agrumentive and insisted he was a professional with many years of service. He said, it was cracked and he could replace it for $20. So unscrews the pipe and shows it to me. He points to a manufactures seam in the pipe and tell me that its a crack. I fill the pipe up with water in front of him and show him it holds water without leaking. It's just a tiny pipe. He then takes a wrench to try and press the pipe open to expose a crack. But, no crack is there. Why? Because there isn't one. STILL he goes ahead and screws a new pipe it that takes about as long to put in as screwing a light bulb. Then he acts like he fixed it. And charges me the $80 plus the $20. So, what upsets me, is that he was rude and that he knew he didn't fix it and acted like he did. I knew when I called them I was going to pay $80 anyway, even if they didn't fix it that day, just for coming out. The extra $20 was only annoying because he knew that I didn't need a new part once he saw the old part. Obviously, wasn't the problem. At this point, I did not necessarily expect him to know what the problem was, again, he can't see through walls and floors. But he was rude and he absolutely knew that nothing was wrong with the pipe. I called a friend latter that day. They came out, cut a whole in my drywall, located the problem on a drain cap had water backing up out of it and all over the place. Bathtub full of water backing up and running down under the tub and under the carpet. Not a drop from where he touched his wet hand to a small just fine pipe. To sum it up. Had good service the first time. Second time, had someone who appeared disinterested in working and acting like they fixed a problem rather than telling me they didn't know and would have to do something else to figure it out. Remember, the first time I was willing and paid for the camera. The second time, they could have cut my drywall and unclogged the drain and made more money than the $100 they charged me anyway. Bottom line, first time good service. Second time, very disappointed.

Response from RJ Graham Plumbing Inc
We are sorry about your experience but I would like to bring up a couple of points. First being when we go to a home and see bathtubs full of water on the carpet in the hallway next to bathroom we are looking for any and all water sources. And when we spend time in your home trying to locate and diagnose your issue yes there is a charge for our time. That water took time to accumulate we were not there when it happened so we are were trying to re-create it. We tried a simple solution that didn't work obviously(but you never called to say anything). Did you want us to guess and start gutting your home and opening walls? No. Your friend opened the wall and rodded the bathtub only after we eliminated everything else. Had your friend found something we overlooked or missed then I would agree with your anger. But he didn't he opened a wall and found a pipe that wasn't capped. There is no way ANYONE could have found that without a process of elimination. And even that is by shear luck that he found it. Even when we televised the line there is no way the camera is going back up a tub drain. But you said the charge then was a lot. We were there an hour the first day looking around and we pulled your toilet and televised(at your request and you agreed to the price of $275) on our second trip. and the line was clear but it appeared to have some washout under the concrete around the toilet. This obviously fixed the issue he had because he had another problem 2yrs later. I understand your frustration but you are saying we fooled you twice. How did we do that when everything we did eliminated sources of the problem. You know your sewer is in very good shape no problems there, your toilet is sealed no leaks there and there is no other leaking pipes because the other one was repaired. You had a cap off of a drain that was buried in the wall. This is so odd because your carpet was soaked 8ft away. Nowhere near the tub so there was very little reason to suspect it, and since we cant see through walls we have to go with what the house tells us. I can see you giving us an F for failing to see and repair the an obvious problem or trying to overcharge you by wanting to rip apart you bathroom for thousands of dollars. But for charging $92 including parts for an hour of diagnostic time seems a little harsh. especially since other steps had to be taken( like opening a wall) to find the issue. Now I wonder what our review would have been had we opened the wall and there was nothing wrong there. Then you would have a hole in your wall and a wet carpet. Plumbing problems can be very frustrating especially since 95% of it is covered by floors and walls so all we ask is for people to look at it reasonably because every house is different and who knows what kind of work has been done over the years. And this kind of Work led to you cap problem( or lack there of)I'm thankful that your problem is resolved and that it wasn't an expensive repair

My initial contact with RJ Graham was for slow draining of a tub and bathroom sink shortly after purchasing a new house that had been remodeled, but previously been sitting vacant for a number of years. They were able to send someone out within a short time of my call. The plumber who arrived was professional and friendly and cleared the drains. He explained that a drum trap on the tub was going to need to be replaced at some point and gave me a quote for the work. My second contact was to have the drum trap replaced. They again were prompt about showing up on time for the work. Replaced both the trap and a laundry tub and honored the previous quote. Once finished, he left the area neat and clean and took the old laundry tub with them so I didn't have to deal with it. My third contact with them was a partial blockage on the sewer line leading out to the main line. The plumber arrived quickly and made multiple attempts to clear the line. Due to the house sitting dormant for many years, there was ample opportunity for tree roots to compromise the line, and it was unclear whether they were dealing with a collapse. During rodding they discovered the existing cleanout was not done correctly and made their job more difficult but not impossible. They were able to isolate where the blockage/potential collapse was, but due to distance weren't able to clear it. At this point they decided they would need to dig to identify and fix the problem and had exhausted other solutions. I was given an estimate and gave the go ahead. They secured permits and inquired with the city regarding trees on the property and easement to make sure they knew what they were working with. They called Julie to make sure it was safe to dig. They handled everything. They did their best to minimize damage to the lawn and any landscaping. In the end, they were able to clear the line and installed the existing cleanout correctly. They added a second cleanout by the treeline to make future maintenance easier and they honored the estimate. I have been extremely happy with RJ Graham Plumbing because they were conservative and methodical in troubleshooting the issue and were very communicative and patient in answering my questions throughout. The two plumbers and apprentice I dealt with were all professional and friendly. I have a high level of confidence in RJ Graham being able to handle any plumbing problem I could come up with in the future.
Description of Work: Excavation to remove blockage, replaced existing cleanout, added a second cleanout, drum trap replacement.
