Pro Tree Svc

Called Pro Tree Service from Google, made an appointment for a Free estimate. John Came over, look things over and gave me a good price for all the stuff I wanted done. $1700 was the Quote, and the Next Day when the Crew came, they seemed to be in a hurry and didn't want to do all the stuff John and I had talked about. Don't mind working fast, but do it right. The Crew Leader was Not Professional at all. He didn't want to do the things that me and John had talked about during the estimate. The Little Crew Manager even tried to charge me an extra $40 just to remove some tree branches that was already cut down. I thought that was in the estimate, but it didn't get done. They did about 85% of the Whole Job that I thought I was going to get. But they rushed through it, and left, The Crew Leader is Not Professional at all. If I knew this, I wouldn't have called this Company. Little Disrespectful Guy make your company look BAD John!

Very good price estimate. The crew did a very good job with the tree removal and disposal of waste.

Needed to have 5 trees cut down that were very close to a fence. Geraldo showed up, evaluated the job, explained how the job would be completed, and presented a quote for the work. The team showed up on the expected date and expertly cut down the trees as planned with no damage to the fence.

Pro Tree was excellent. We watch the whole process. The team worked so well together and were pleasant to talk too. It only took two and a half hours to do a big job. They cleaned up the whole area leaving no debris behind including from the stump removals. I would recommend them in a flash to anyone who needs tree work.

Reported this company to BBB. Showed up unannounced in the late evening, cut up trees, stacked logs next to my rear garage, did not grind 2 tree stumps. Insisted on full payment with the verbal promise that a different crew would show up in a day or two to finish the work. Did not happen. After numerous phone calls and emails, logs were picked up but 2 tree stumps not grinded. Finally, contacted BBB and hired someone else to finish the job. Never again would hire John's Pro Tree Service.

Came on a Sunday, removed the branches and cleaned up the yard. Very professional. Highly recommend.

Tree Trimming

Everything went well. Brian came out to provide estimate. I explained that it was somewhat urgent as the squirrels were jumping from tree branches onto my roof. Although they were busy, he got his crew to me same week. His crew did an excellent job with their team work and trimmed my huge tree in less than 2 hours. Tree looks great and ended my squirrel problem too!

Great! Fast, efficient and professional. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

Excellent job. Great cleanup of our yard and neighbors'. Even volunteered to trim additional large arborvitae. Friendly and excellent work by professionals.

Once crew arrived the team never stopped. Very professional,checked on what exactly was needed. When job was finished the cleanup was excellent. They not only raked the yard, but they used the leaf blower to do the roof tops, gutters and driveway. There cost was the lowest of three estimates.

The quote request from Angie's List was responded to the same day by this company. The price was very reasonable and better than an earlier quote we had. We contracted immediately. They showed up when they were expected, and the team reviewed which exact trees were to be removed, I have quite a few in my yard. They had the first two down quickly, then started on the larger one near the house. They did a terrific job removing the limb over the house, and never touched the house as they came down. The team did a terrific job in total, and cleaned up the yard, it was actually better cleaned than before they started. Stumps were all ground down, and the mulch will go nicely around our house this spring.

DO NOT HIRE THIS GROUP! Wish there was a 0 star rating! Besides the lack of service noted by many on this forum, the rudeness, not showing up when supposed to, bad clean up, etc. THEY CUT DOWN THE WRONG THE TREE!! Hired them to cut down 3 dead trees in BACK + trim a front yard tree (Hawthorne). Cut the 3 down (came through my yard vs via the field in the back as I asked), did a terrible job on the Hawthorne, and for some reason decided to also cut down my 35', marquee, beautiful, healthy flowering pear tree in my front yard! Since that time, the response to rectifying this colossal mistake has been terrible, starting with a bunch of lies - said they would replace with the biggest tree they could find (a tiny 3.5", 12' tree) and that you can't replant bigger than that bc they won't survive. WRONG on both. A few weeks later when talking with a different company about new trees for the back, I was told they routinely plant 8-10" diameter, 30' trees! Also said no one called them from this company looking for a large tree. Called 2 other groups - exact same response. Still fighting with John the owner (same issues, attitude, etc. that others have noted here) who told me to no longer contact him and cc'd his lawyer. Also is claiming that since I 'accepted' the other tree (even though based on lies - my fault for believing him), that I have no case. He must not know about IL treble law. So again, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS AND TELL OTHERS. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.

I contacted three companies about removing three trees from my yard. Initially, Pro-Tree told me that they were busy for a couple weeks, but they contacted me a day later. They came out, left a written estimate for me, and came back that evening to discuss it. Their bid was competitive, and the work was scheduled for 9 days later. However, they came two days early, waited out a rain storm, and started the work about 5pm. I had an appointment, and when I returned home that evening, the work was completed. The logs were removed on Saturday (3 days later). From what I observed of the crew, they know their job and were professional.

John was reasonable and provided services quickly. His guys showed up the day before promised and did great work. They even completed work for my neighbor on the fly. Great job.
