Our project started early due to availability. In the first day the demolition work was done, and the site was left clean daily. We were able to live in the space despite such a major project. All of the daily workers were outstanding people and accommodated my curious old dog who wanted to check in on the projects. Each day we were updated either by the workers on site or by Matt on the progress and the timeline. The kitchen is absolutely a dream come true, and we look forward to being in it the next 30 years. Philbin had remodeled our bathroom previously, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to do a major rennovation.

Their quote was extremely high. We had received another quote that was $10,000 less.

You get what you pay for, which is perfection from Phibin Construction and Remodeling Co. in Mokena, IL. Approximately 3 years ago, we hired Phibin Construction Company to remodel our Kitchen. We are still amazed by the outcome of the project. Our choice came from ongoing research on similar companies, and a recommendation from an extremely fussy friend. Matt provided us with great ideas and was very patient with us when working on the design. We were always able to get in touch with Matt anytime. His team was friendly, reliable and very professional. They were respectful and made sure there was no mess for us at the end of each work day. We felt completely at ease during the whole project. We did not worry at all with their workmanship, following codes, cutting corners, etc. Even three years later we were able to count on them to fix a small problem that any other company would have charged us for. You may pay a little more, but in the end, peace of mind and a great job go a long way.

The Philbin team was highly professional, paid great attention to detail, and dependable. Expectations were clear, additional ideas plus some other ideas I wanted to incorporate were included and it was a great experience all around. The experience and results were beyond our expectations and we would highly recommend the Philbin team to anyone looking for a high quality experience without any surprises.

They had a major job of redoing our basement. They were here to do work on venting and bathroom fans and we're very pleased with the work. That's why we got them back with the way they did our basement. They had flooring and a lot of rebuilding a bar and all that. They were out here recently to get the venting done properly for our bathrooms. When we called them we were told we had to have a two month delay. They already were committed to other job, but they were right on time. They were here right on time, in fact they were here before.

It went very well. Matt Philbin came to the house to estimate the time required and quoted their hourly rate @ $72. John, one of the company's electricians came on the day promised and made short work of the outlet extension and the fixture replacement. The under-cabinet lighting required a fuse that was difficult to obtain. We eventually tracked one down and put it in ourselves, but John had correctly diagnosed the problem.

The quality and professionalism is top notch. Above all I was able to come and go trusting the Forman John in my home. I have kids with allergies and the dust was kept to a minimum and every night before they left the workspace was clean! When the job was complete and I experienced a leak above the kitchen sink, unrelated to the kitchen remodel, they came out and fixed the problem,

We have been extremely satisfied with Philbin Construction. From the initial consult to the finished product, Matt and his crew are professional and friendly. Matt is always prompt, and he takes he time to listen to what I want. He provides an estimate with a few options. They stand behind the products they offer, and I liked that I was not pushed into anything. I felt like I was provided with the information needed to make the right choice for me. I really trust Matt and his men and feel very comfortable having them work in my home. They are always courteous, careful when hauling their equipment and materials in my house, and clean up the area when they are done. They provide quality and professional work. Matt has also followed up to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, and to happily answer our questions and provide any additional information. I would absolutely recommend Philbin Construction for both large and small projects.

I was very impressed with Philbin Construction. We were in a bind when our "contractor" bailed on us after we were into our remodel & Philbin came in & did a beautiful job. Not many contractors would do that. We already had most of the material so Philbin checked the materials we already purchased & found some problems in size & amount purchased. I know from experience that most contractors make a lot of their profit in material but they did not bat an eye. We love our new bathroom & it did not take 4 months to complete. They came when they said, Mon thru Fri. 8 to 4, never late, never missed. If we had a problem they fixed it immediately. I highly recommend Philbin & would hire them again on our next project. Matt was terrific to work with. He was very helpful with suggestions, diplamatic when my idea wasn't the best, amazing at all the details, super at keeping us informed and making sure everything was on schedule (except quartz countertops which were out of his control). Matt is big on quality products as evidenced by the kitchen cabinets and outside doors. Glen, John and John did all the day to day work. All three were wonderful craftsmen, great personalities and always bent over backwards to make sure everything was just as we wanted. They were always on time each morning and left each night after clean up. Matt, Glen, John and John made this big project seem effortless and were a real joy to work with!

This was not a small project and after a frustrating search of many months we found Philbin Construction. We have a tri-level and did a complete remodel of the main floor - taking down walls, pulling up old floors, installing new hardwood flooring, some new cabinetry, new lighting and granite counter tops. While not the least expensive bid for the project it met and went beyond all of our needs. Matt worked within our budget and provided us with a couple of estimates with different choices. We had a number of contractors who said they couldn't or didn't want to work with our existing cabinetry - Philbin could and did! We also felt that one of the biggest selling points was that the work is done by company employees - so there is no waiting for sub-contractors! Matt provided us with a very open, beautiful and functional floor plan. He recommended a cabinet that complimented our existing cabinetry extremely well - you wouldn't know it wasn't done at the same time. He worked with us on all the choices we needed to make, offering suggestions but not pushing in any direction so it was totally ours. His crew was cordial, polite and very professional. They were there when they said they were going to be there, the work space was left spic and span clean at the end of each day. Did I mention that they worked around two very active, eight month, large-breed puppies! The super clean space at the end of the day was awesome for this reason alone. Thanks John, Glenn and John for putting up with our pups and having fun with them too! The job was also completed pretty much in the time frame expected (we had to wait for the granite which was out of Matt's control). The end result is absolutely gorgeous! Now all we need to do is decide how to decorate all the new space we have! We would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, quality and beautiful end result for their project.

We had sought out design suggestions and budgetary quotes from 4 reputable kitchen remodel companies. Matt Philbin and his staff gave us the best value for the money. A lot of the high end nice to haves were already included in their pricing which wasn't the case with the other contractors. Throughout the project Matt was in constant contact and always available for questions or concerns. His craftsmen were there every day like clockwork. Everyone was friendly and skilled in their crafts. Throughout the project any questions or issues were resolved quickly and to our complete satisfaction. The quality of the installation was top notch and we appreciated the suggestions that were made to help give us the best result. We would not hesitate to recommend Matt and his team to anyone seeking to remodel anything in their homes. We would definitely contact them again if we needed any work done in our home.

The job went really well. Matt, the project manager, did a terrific job advising me on the risks of the job and was able to answer questions I had. He told me about the risk of lippage, which is when tiles don't lie flat next to one another due to an uneven floor. Matt used a level to inspect our floor for problem areas and then advised his crew of the issues so that they could try to limit the slippage. He also made sure the crew took care of small surface crack before laying tile on top of it. The crew were very professional and worked hard each day. This was a big job and they kept at it until it was done. It took about 6 days to complete everything. The crew was there on time everyday and focused on my project. The tile is heavy and this is grueling work, but the crew took pride in what they did. We now have a great looking floor in our basement.

We received a detailed list of the work that would be done and we told that they could not begin work for three months due to other scheduled work. They began work on the scheduled week that we expected.. We worked with a flooring company suggested by Philbin to pick out a vinyl plank floor. The previous laminate floor could not be matched. Philbin's people came promptly at 7:30 AM and first worked on slavaging the long bar. The large granite counter top had to be removed before the bottom part of the bar could be removed and rebuilt. They stained the bottom new part to match so that you would never know that there had been a problem. The granite was replaced without breaking. The large recreation room looks like it was from a decorating magazine. We had been concerned that we would have to replace the entire bar. We have stone covered posts that needed special attention when the vinyl was laid. The vinyl plank floor replaced the laminate; vinyl is more forgiving to water damage. The partially finished bath turned our beautiful. The new ceiling tiles and boxing in the fan, lights, and a/c /heat vents make the room look complete. We added door handles to the existing bathroom cabinets. We have three switches for the fan, canned ceiling lights and decorative lights on the wall which gives us options for usage. The previous owners had black bathroom toilet and sink which were puilled out for a bisque color. In our 45 years of marriage we have lived in several houses and have had lots of construction work and this experience was the best. We would recommend this company. Our basement recreation room looks wonderful and the half bath is so muich more functional. We moved three years ago to IL from OH where we also used Angie's List. We continue to use Angie's List to get competent and professional services in our home.

Our shower in the master bathroom was leaking through the tub-fitter base and we had to make the decision to just replace that or redo the entire bathroom. We had a separate small stall shower and a soaker tub, a set up that I was not in love with. When Matt came out to give us a quote, he was very friendly and personable and we felt at ease with the prospect of working with him. His quote was on target with the other contractors we saw, but his personality won us over. The only downside about the entire process was his long client list (which is great for him). We waited about 6 months to start our project due to people who had signed a contract in front of us. He disclosed this to us at our initial meeting, and we were OK with the wait. John and John were here to work every day right on time and were extremely professional. They cleaned up after themselves every day and were able to answer all of my questions every time I poked my head in. The end product was amazing. We got rid of the soaker tub and instead moved the shower into that area and created a makeup vanity area where the old shower was. We re-tiled the floor which was another challenge since we were not replacing the vanity and counter top. Matt was extremely reachable throughout the entire process. I could email or call him and he would get back to me almost immediately. We had a few small concerns after the project was complete, but Matt returned and was able to fix all of those concerns. We are now in love with our bathroom, and would definitely use Philbin Construction again in the future.

Met with Matt and went over what we had in mind. He came up with a plan, gave us virtual design. Great job in maximizing the space. The crew did an amazing job. Turned out better than I could have imagined. I can't say enough about what a great job they did. It is expensive to do a total gut on a bathroom, but when you see what is involved, I can see why. Thanks to everyone that made this remodel such a success. Anyone looking to remodel, Philbin is the way to go!

Asked to get an estimate for a basement remodel. Showed up took all the measurements and never came back with an estimate. A complete waste of my time.

Where to begin? I guess I should start by saying that this is one of the few reviews I've written, but it ABSOLUTELY had to be done! We used Philbin Construction for a master bathroom remodel this fall into winter. Words cannot express how incredibly happy we were with the entire project from beginning to end. Obviously, the project began with an estimate, and both my husband and I instantly liked Matt Philbin You could not ask for a more personable, professional contractor ( who also had an awesome sense of humor). The project went extremely well from signing the initial contract to the final inspection. Matt has the ability to listen and then deliver. He guided us through the selection process which could not have been easy for him as I am extremely particular. He answered all of my questions, which were numerous, with patience and honesty. He returned phone calls and text messages promptly and always with a hint of humor. The completed work was impeccable! Even gutting the bathroom was done with care and minimal mess. I cannot speak highly enough about John and Glen who were the primary men working on our job. Each day of the project, they were here on time (to the minute) and could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. That being said their work and attention to detail was extraordinary. Additionally, the subcontractors were skilled and efficient. Having never remodeled before, I was very hesitant to begin this project; however, all my insecurities were for naught.We would not think twice about using Philbin Construction without getting a second estimate for any other projects that arise in our home!!!

Matt and his crew were a joy to work with! Glen and John were always on time, hardworking, and they pay great attention to detail. They went over any questions (so many questions - did I mention they were extremely patient???) and concerns each day. All of them had a great sense of humor which made this project fun instead of painful. Even though the main living area of our house was under construction, they did everything possible to keep the impact on our daily lives to a minimum, including cleaning up at the end of each day. We trusted them in our house and were completely comfortable leaving the house while they were working. If we needed to reach Matt, he was available by cell phone and e-mail, including nights and weekends. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we love our beautiful new kitchen!

Pleasant - said what we wanted they did - never heard from him again.

Being as this was the first time we remodeled, I was very nervous about this whole process after hearing awful contractor stories from friends and hearing who not to hire. Somebody was watching over me because I hit the jackpot with this company. I messaged Matt Philbin from this site and within the day had gotten a response. Within a few days he showed up, on time, for the estimate. I had a good feeling from him right from the start. Matt listened to what I wanted and made the whole process sound easy and led us through it step by step. I had changed my mind on different things many times as I was so afraid of choosing something I wasn't going to be happy with. Matt was so patient with me through the whole process (I think even Mother Teresa would have written me off after the first week or so). He never made me feel like I was being a pain, and was happy to work through every little detail with me, always answering my emails the same day and always pleasant and happy to answer any questions. He told me the date the crew would be there, the hours they would work, and the amount of days it would take. His crew, John and Glenn, were there every day on time. After the first day with John and Glenn, seeing how they worked and how meticulous their work was, I really had a confidence about this whole process and the stress disappeared. I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop, which it never did. John and Glenn were so pleasant, everything was always cleaned up very nicely at the end of the day, and the work they did was absolutely impeccable. After all my apprehension, I couldn't believe how perfectly it all fell into place. I think I've had more stress trying to figure out what to make for dinner. This is an A-1, top of the line company from start to finish and you can't go wrong using this company for your remodeling needs. The quality of the materials, the quality of work, the quality of customer service, all top notch. Thanks Matt, John and Glenn for a job very well done! You'll never know how much I appreciate it.

One couldn't ask for better service. The professionalism exhibited by all involved was awesome! The worker(s ) were punctual, neat, etc., etc., etc.

Process was completely painless. The process was completed just 1 day short of 2 months. Matt, was always professional, knowledgeable and fun to work with. He listened to us, answered our questions and was attentive to any concerns we raised. He is very client focused unlike other contractors we interviewed. His staff, including John & Glen, were excellent and always courteous. Matt & his team worked to minimize the impact to our daily schedules and our quality of living. While no one likes the upheaval and dust that this process causes, I would highly recommend Matt Philbin and his team.
