"Thank you so much for trusting us with your kitchen project. Our team truly enjoyed working with you again, and we really appreciate the review & kind words you've left for us here. We sincerely hope you love your new space for many years to come, and look forward to working with you again on future projects!"
"Thank you for the opportunity to discuss your project, and for taking the time to post your comments here. We do regret that we weren't able to work together, but understand that we're not always a perfect fit for every project. We have found, especially in regards to kitchen remodeling projects, that no two quotes are ever the same, and there is often a significant reason why one quote might be substantially less than another. We do wish you the best of everything with your project, and sincerely hope everything turns out as you expect."

"We'd all like to say a big "Thank You!!" for having us in your home and for trusting us with your project while you were out of town. For you to leave your home in our hands while on an extended vacation must have been a leap of faith, and we are very grateful for your trust! We all thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, and we appreciate the hospitality you showed us once you arrived home! Thanks again, and enjoy your new spaces!!"
This was not a small project and after a frustrating search of many months we found Philbin Construction. We have a tri-level and did a complete remodel of the main floor - taking down walls, pulling up old floors, installing new hardwood flooring, some new cabinetry, new lighting and granite counter tops. While not the least expensive bid for the project it met and went beyond all of our needs. Matt worked within our budget and provided us with a couple of estimates with different choices. We had a number of contractors who said they couldn't or didn't want to work with our existing cabinetry - Philbin could and did! We also felt that one of the biggest selling points was that the work is done by company employees - so there is no waiting for sub-contractors!
Matt provided us with a very open, beautiful and functional floor plan. He recommended a cabinet that complimented our existing cabinetry extremely well - you wouldn't know it wasn't done at the same time. He worked with us on all the choices we needed to make, offering suggestions but not pushing in any direction so it was totally ours. His crew was cordial, polite and very professional. They were there when they said they were going to be there, the work space was left spic and span clean at the end of each day. Did I mention that they worked around two very active, eight month, large-breed puppies! The super clean space at the end of the day was awesome for this reason alone. Thanks John, Glenn and John for putting up with our pups and having fun with them too! The job was also completed pretty much in the time frame expected (we had to wait for the granite which was out of Matt's control).
The end result is absolutely gorgeous! Now all we need to do is decide how to decorate all the new space we have! We would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, quality and beautiful end result for their project.
"Thank you so much for your kind words, and for having us in your home this year! It was a pleasure to work with you and we hope to do so again in the future!"

"Thank you for clearing this up for us! Our biggest regret is that we weren't able to reach you sooner. We would have enjoyed being that "pleasant surprise" after the negative experiences you seem to have had in the past. We hope to have the chance to work with you in the future, and just wanted to say "Thanks!" again."
"Thanks again for having us in your home! We enjoyed working with you both and hope to see you again soon!"
"Thank you for your review & kind words. We enjoyed working with you as well, and hope to see you again soon!"

Asked to get an estimate for a basement remodel. Showed up took all the measurements and never came back with an estimate. A complete waste of my time.
"It is almost unfortunate that members are able to tell a story in the form of a review that may not be entirely accurate, or the whole story to say the least. It is also unfortunate that you feel that you wasted your time with us. We are sincerely sorry you feel this way. Yes, we did visit your home to discuss your project, and to take some preliminary dimensions. I believe we responded to your initial call promptly, and were on time for our appointment. We did spend an hour or more in your home one evening, to take those dimensions and to answer all of your questions. But our communication did not end there, as your review implies. We had at least one additional conversation by phone after that evening in which we expressed our wishes to decline your project. Why would a contractor decline a project? After all, we are in business to absorb as much work as possible, aren’t we? It is not this simple. Part of being an honest and responsible company means managing clients expectations. Our work schedule, at the time of our meetings, was quickly growing and was resulting in extended wait times before work would begin. We explained that if we had been hired for your project, your project would have been done in the order it was signed, and your wait time would have been longer than you mentioned being comfortable with. This conversation did take place by phone. You were not left waiting for a contractor to return or respond, as your review implies. To again be honest, a prospective client should understand that the first visit(s) with a contractor is really a 2-way interview process. Yes, we do come out to see the project and to answer questions, so you can form an opinion whether we will be a good fit for your project. Everyone knows this. During this visit, however, we are also forming an opinion whether we will want to move forward with you. We are not required to accept every new client onto our schedule, just as you are not required to hire us. When a prospective client verbally describes issues she has recently had with other contractor(s), pending disputes, etc, we have to stop and ask “Can this client be satisfied?” Though we may not have mentioned this earlier, it weighed heavily on our decision to decline your project. In closing, I am sorry you feel things should have been different. It is obviously not our goal to disappoint any of our clients. We do wish you the best of luck with this and all future projects."
"Nothing we could ever say about ourselves in marketing or otherwise can carry more weight or resonate more with future clients than the testimonials of our current ones. We treasure our Angie's List reviews, and are always grateful when clients take the time to write them. To the member who rewarded us with this review - thank you so much for having us in your home, and for the kind words spoken here!"
"Thank you for taking the time to write this, and for having us in your home! I think everyone involved sincerely enjoyed being on your project, and I hope to be able to stop back soon to see Dakota (woof!)! Thanks again!!"
"First, and perhaps most importantly, we apologize for the delays you experienced with our company. We sincerely wish we could provide a faster turnaround between the date of a first appointment and the follow up meeting when we show the first drafts of your new kitchen plans. By design, we are a smaller company, at times requiring a little additional time to complete the 8-12 hour process of creatively designing and carefully estimating your new kitchen remodeling project. Springtime is always the busiest time of year for any reputable remodeling firm, and this year has seen and even larger volume of new potential projects. When you initially called for an appointment, we scheduled your visit quickly, and in the evening for your convenience. When that day came, we arrived on time. We willingly spent well over an hour discussing your ideas. At the conclusion of our meeting, during the conversation when you described how busy your own business has become, we expressed a sincere interest in your project and asked for your patience while we worked on your initial designs and estimate. Had we decided that we were no longer interested in your project, we would have mentioned this in person or in a phone call. We genuinely felt that we would have worked very well together with you. Interestingly, the day before your review appeared here, we had already left a voice mail expressing an interest in meeting in the coming week to go over your plans. Again, we are sincerely sorry that we did not respond more quickly. We certainly wish we had called sooner to schedule your appointment. In closing, we can’t help but wonder if we really deserve an “F” rating for this. We often hear horror stories from our clients about their previous remodeling experiences with other companies– the projects that took 2-3 times the expected time to complete, or 2-3 times the expected budget – experiences surely worthy of an “F” rating. In over 27 years of our company’s history, that story has never been told about us. We hope the remainder of our reviews above will offer the members of Angie’s List a better view into what to expect from Philbin Construction & Remodeling. Thank you for taking the time to read our reply."
