I am pretty knowledge about buildings and the issues to look for since I am a hobby real estate investor and a non-practicing civil engineer, so I was hesitant to hire a home inspector. My main reason for hiring On Point Inspections was to identify hidden moisture issues which Philip's Termal Thermography detector identified quickly and precisely. That was a $300 well spent since I plan to discuss the multiple moisture issues identified with the current owner (Fannie Mae) of the townhome and seek a credit. Philip also did a standard house inspection which I thought was appropriate. Too often I hear about inspectors that are pointing out cosmetic issues instead of the costly issues with fundamentals (i.e. HVAC system issues, plumbing issues, electrical issues, etc.). If I buy another property in Chicagoland, I will definitely use Philip Taylor / On Point Inspections again.
Description of Work: Philip Taylor performed a house inspection of a townhome I am planning to purchase. He did a traditional house inspection as well as used Thermal Thermography detector to look for moisture issues.
