I was impressed with A-Abel Roofing from the sales rep all the way through the installation. Price was competitive (actually the lowest) and they didn't nickle and dime you to death with add-ons like permits, etc. When I saw a crane show up to lift the shingle bundles onto the roof, I knew I was getting my moneys worth! And what other job do you know where the owner shows up to the job site and actually works? Was very impressive. And to top it off, they even registered the warranty with Owens Corning! I plan to get new gutters next year and A-Abel Roofing will be my first call.

Efficient, reliable and competent company. Staff punctual. Tore down and finished a tri-level home in 1 1/2 days. Left the area spotless.

A. Abel Roofing did an excellent job with a tear off and also new gutters. All work was completed on time and within budget. I did get three quotes and based on pricing and reviews hired A. Abel Roofing, as their quote was the lowest of the three quotes. Great company to work with.

They did all they promised and when they left they had cleaned up everything. They were awesome.

Jeff and his crew came on time and left on time. They were very courteous and professional. I did a great deal of research on different companies, these guys were the best. They had up to date equipment; why this matters to me is I have a very steep roof, they were able to cover the roof in no time because of the new equipment.

Very reliable, very courteous and explained everything. Our work has not been completed yet as they are extremely busy but looking forward to seeing the completed project. And have decided to have them do additional work on our garage.

We feel that the cleanup was not properly attended to. We had to pick up soda and water bottles, paper, pieces of metal and worst of all, metal nails in the driveway. Our roof is fine, but I wish I had chosen another company that was $3500 less. The roof does not leak and for that we care very grateful.

A-ABEL returned my call quickly. After a thorough inspection of my roof and an explanation of the scope of work a reasonable estimate was given. The roofing knowledge of Mr. Abel was outstanding. A-ABEL did a great job on my roof. From the estimate to the final clean-up I would highly recommend them. The office and field people were great to work with.

A-Abel returned the original call promptly, gave a competitive bid, used quality materials, and worked with us on some special requests. They showed up when promised and finished early. The roof looks great!

They had a large crew and worked very well together. They completed the project in less than a day. This was a complete tear off of the existing roof and they did an excellent job of cleaning up.

I live in New York and my parents live in Midlothian, Illinois. They are in their 80’s and when they needed a new roof on their home, I met with and received quotes from 8 local contractors on one of my trips back home. The house is over 100 years old, and has many changes/additions through the years so the roof is a mix of pitch, areas, and joints. Every area is different. My father wanted a simple re-roof done over the job that was a Tear Off 18 years ago, so that is what I explained to the 8 bidders. One of the Contractors said they would re-roof over the existing 1 layer (which would still be to code), but all 7 of the other contractors would only quote a complete Tear Off because they could not personally guarantee their work based the previous roofers work and the many angels and joints. Those 7 all would rather decline the job than compromise their Quality. Originally I was also thinking a re-roof would work, but after talking with each of the companies, I was convinced the Tear Off was required. This was not a “standard” Re-Roof job. Scratch 1 contractor from the list. After completing the Reference checks and quote reviews on the 7 potential contractors, I met with the final 2 "contenders" and added some additional specifications for them to quote: Removing no longer used chimneys on the house and garage - Structurally, they were a risk of falling and causing roof damage, and, - Are a potential leak point because of their age and condition. Additionally, I let them know it was just them or someone else, and we would make our decision immediately after getting both revised quotes. We selected Jeff and A-Abel Roofing. We coordinated with Jeff in advance for the work to be done during my scheduled trip back home last week. Rain caused a 1 day delay, and because of my limited time back home, Jeff had a crew of 6 guys on the job the next day. They finished on time, and I am very impressed with the Quality of their work and attention to detail. The extra effort to complete the job while I was in town, extra Ice and Water Shield, extra drip guards, the removal and new fascia work on the chimney, and attention to detail on the job and clean-up was outstanding. As an Engineer, I appreciate Jeff and A-Abel taking the time to explain the details of the job to me, and his reasoning for specific recommendations. His personal attention to detail, customer service style, respect toward me and my parents, and the Quality of Work is impressive. No, he was not the lowest cost of the potential contractors, but I strongly believe he provided the best value. I strongly recommend Jeff and A-Abel Roofing. I could not find a better Roofer.
