REED'S GLASS & MIRROR CO

Called for an estimate on a window. Came to my house in clothes he probably slept in. Asked for a check for $200.00 to start the ball rolling. He cashed the check within days of receiving it Took all my trim from the large window and probably recycled it ...Gave him the down payment and have not heard from him since. Saw him once in the dirtiest mask I have ever seen at the dollar store. He said he lost my number and will be able to do it this weekend which was the end of October 2020. Will not answer my calls, texts. I have to hire a reputable glass company. I have learned my lesson but have a receipt so I will be going to small claims court soon.

We called Reed to replaced glass for windows, his estimate was okay (not too cheap and not too high), and we picked him because of his availability and commitment for 15 days delivery. He was very responsive with the initial communication. Later, after 2 weeks, when I called him, there was no immediate response. I had to call him for like 4 or 5 times then only he responded. He had also taken an advance for 50% of the money. His quality, delivery, etc was good.

One of the cabinet doors was cracked so we had to get a new one. Reed installed the mirrors in the other five doors and said to call him when we had the sixth door and he would come back and install the mirror. We have called him more than 12 times and spoken to him 3 times over the last few months, and he says he will call when he is in the area and stop by, but he hasn't been back to install the last mirror. Glass shower doors are fine.

Came out and gave a quote. Next step he came out and measured and I gave him a deposit check. Overall it went well. Showed up about ten minutes early the day of installation. Had some unexpected issues but worked through them. Cleaned up the glass. Could have caulked a little more careful. Also did not have enough caulk supplies. But we substituted clear caulk which looks ok. Not as cheap as other window companys, but a better warranty. I would hire again.

Contractor responded promptly to an initial telephone inquiry. I was concerned about having the work performed soon; contractor was willing to fit me into his schedule. We agreed that the work would be done early afternoon on a particular day. On that day, he called to advise he was available to do my project earlier than expected, which was just fine with me. He arrived timely with a helper. They worked competently and efficiently but not in an apparent rush. Contractor was cordial, confident, and optimistic (unlike some others with whom I inquired who fretted about the difficulty of repairing the Pella window). Work seems to have been done correctly, and contractor cleaned up after himself. Aluminum storm windows were repaired on-site, avoiding an additional delay of a shop repair. Contractor charged exactly the price earlier quoted by phone and accepted a personal check for payment.
