I am a new member to Angie's List and this is my first experience with any of the contractors in the service. I did not even know that one could have their roof shampooed. Last July I had my driveway redone and that is when the dirty stains from algae growth and age gained more attention from my husband and me. I had a roofer come out who said that the roof was not in as bad a shape as I thought but the stains were extremely unsightly. So I researched the list and found Gary at Home Shampoo.
From our first meeting you could tell that Gary loves what he does and takes pride in his work. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical because the roof was so discolored. But he promised me that he could handle these stains and that he did!! I had forgotten why I chose the color of my roof and today Gary helped me to remember what the house looked like when I moved in after it was built in 1998. It was a very wonderful feeling to see its grandeur bought back to life after so many years.
Today's temperature was in the 30's and I really did not think that he would be able to do the job.....did not even expect him to show up until it warmed up and I would certainly have understood. But when I contacted him and told him we could postpone he said he was ready to go. He came out with a helper and the way in which they treated my home with care and all the items surrounding the house was really nice. And aftter he finished he cleaned up, took away all the debris and even washed off my driveway. The results are stunning and I am so proud to show it off to my neignbors. Many have rung my doorbell to ask about the process so I am sure that Gary will be getting some substantial business in the Bolingbrook area.
If we all as customers are fortunate we get a contractor when we need work on our homes who is competent. But Gary and his team go further than this. When a contractor takes such pride in his/her work and works on your house like he/she lives in it that is special. I enjoyed working with him from the beginning quote. I even asked him for proof of insurance as I do with all contractors and he sent it to me with no questions. If you want the beauty restored to your roof by a true artisan who will look at it afterwards with a twinkle in his eye this is your guy!!! I promise you that you will love his work and I have developed a friend in the process.
Within the next two years or so I will purchase a new roof. When I do I will keep Gary's info and ask him to clean it after a few years to avoid staining and preserve it's longevity. I wish I had known about this process earlier. Thanks Gary for your workmanship and professionalism. I am deeply appreciative of what you have done for me and Jershon (my home's name which is a combo of my name and my husband's). She is once again something to behold...................
