Ups Store #4099

In good faith, I went to the UPS Store in Marion, believing I was going to the professional. I paid to have the presentation boards (20" x 30" foam core) wrapped and sent out to arrive by 10:00 am the next Monday. This was on Thursday, so I paid $179.85 for 2nd day air am service, $21.05 for a service fee, $22.48 fuel service fee, $12.50 additional handling fee, and $21.95 for the packing. Total paid was $258.03 for 6 foam core boards to arrive in Maryland from Illinois from a Thurs to Mon. When the presentation was not delivered on Monday, I contacted the local Marion UPS Store and was told to call the toll free phone number for UPS. After many phone calls back and forth between the toll free number, myself and the local store, I was told no refund would be made since the package was oversized. Why would they send a package that would not qualify, but would charge for 2nd day air was my question?!? Derek, the local csr that sent my package never cautioned me that my package was oversized and therefore there would be no guarantee that it would arrive on time. I was told by one of the reps at the toll free number that the regular freight charge would have been around $54. I paid $179, plus the other fees and asked that I be refunded the difference, $125. The home office of the franchise for the UPS Store finally agreed to refund $50, but the local store owner never returned my phone calls or my emails. Take your chances and use the post office or Fed Ex.
