I've been dealing with this company since I moved to the area back in 2011. I live in a Kennedy subdivision that is known for loosing shingles every time the wind blows. Dan came out the first time I called. He went on my roof and informed me that I didn't need a roof yet. He replaced some shingles and all was good. The following year same thing. Finally, my husband and I decided this year to just replace the entire thing. They showed when they said they would. Did the work, picked up and left everything like they found it. I never would have known they were even there.

I had used them twice before and thought they did excellent work. This time I called and was given the name of their employee who would do the work. I spoke to him and we agreed that the insurance adjuster there when he inspected my roof and the adjuster would call him. A week later I was contacted by my insurance adjuster and was told that he left several messages and was not called back. I then called Jerry Newman employee and left a message and had the same experience. I wound up using someone else but lost 2 weeks time in the repair. I did call the office again and they said they had no record of my call - of course, we had been calling their employee as requested.

Jerry and his team were a delight to work with and what earned them high marks was how responsive and helpful  they were over the fact that the shingles were from a different color batch.  Although it set back the work a bit, Jerry contacted the vendors and they handled it perfectly.  Within a short period of time we had our roof done and perfectly. 
We would highly recommend Jerry Newman Roofing to anyone.  He and his team were professional, punctual, friendly and great dealing with the issue.

Company roofing specialist (Steve) carefully climbed and inspected cedar shake roof – attached loose shingles and replaced missing, split or curled shinges with new, matching cedar shake shingles.    Also applied new caulking to wood stove pipe in barn to repair leaking at rain shield.   All work was performed carefully and with very high quality.   Steve accomplished what other roofing companies were unwilling or unable to complete.

I explained what problem I was having. The situation was assessed. I was given a fair quote and a date was set for the repair. The company was punctual and the repair was made to my satisfaction.

He did very good work. The crew cleaned up the after the project and left the yard in the condition that it was in when they arrived. I would recommend him highly.

Jerry has a very large crew(10+) and the work started on time.  They completed this large job in 5 days which was surprisingly fast (nice weather helped).  The crew was professional and completed the job with just a modest amount of damage to the gutters and landscaping.  It was a pleasure watching them work.

I was very pleased with the job Jerry and his crew did.  He was very professional and thorough when I first contacted him, and he also provided great guidance on product selection, color, etc.

His 10+ person crew literally swarmed the job.  Each had a script and completed the large job in 3-4 days.  It's also noteworthy that they kept a tidy job site which isn't always the case.  I was very concerned about rusty nails on the driveway or in the yard, but they scoured the site each day and at the end of the job.

Lastly, it's worth noting that I had a few small problems,  however Jerry addressed them immediately.  Sometimes it's challenging to get everything right, especially when the job is large and there are many details to tend to.  Jerry was always timely with a reply, and had no qualms answering questions or dispatching someone to investigate and resolve.  This approach is why I would have no qualms using him again or recommending him.

Great work, now we know why many neighbors use them.

Estimate was provided in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Work was begun promptly (albeit not immediately) and workers were very attentive to protecting the house siding, windows, shrubs, and flowers. The work was done quickly and completed in a day and a half, even with an early quitting time on Monday for the Bears-Packers game on Monday Night Football (understandable around here). Clean up was thorough and done before the workers left. The job was inspected by company mgmt for quality within a few days. All-in-all, a very professional and well-done job.

Jerry submitted a proposal to do the work, but was not selected because another quality Angie's list contractor was willing to do the work for a lower price. Jerry's company does quality work and he is a good person. He has done roof work for me in the past and I would not hesitate to ask him to do work for me again.

I got 3 estimates from local companies and they all came in the same. I chose Jerry Newman Roofing because of their proximity to my home figuring if there were any problems they were close by and I was supporting a locally-owned business. Also, I had warned them if they did shoddy work I lived close enough to picket their office everyday until I was satisfied. Fortunately, this extreme tactic was not necessary because Jerry was very professional, experienced and forthright in explaining what we needed and how to keep the expenses to a minimum. I had inquired about a more expensive roofing material, and instead of selling me something I didn't need, Jerry explained the pros and cons and suggested I go with the mainstream product and suggested other ways I could save money. He even suggested I could wait another year to do the job, which I appreciated greatly, however my homeowners insurance company would not wait. The job had to be done before winter. Barry the Estimator was flexible and courteous in scheduling the job to be done in November despite the possibilities for inclement weather. We scheduled the job for a Saturday morning and they arrived promptly at 7:25am . Five minutes later there was a small army of workers covering my shrubs and beginning the tear-off. At 11:45am the hammering stopped and I thought they were breaking for lunch. At noon, the doorbell rang and the foreman stated that they were finished! A few workers were magnet sweeping the yard for nails and finishing clean up. The roof, the gutter covers, the attic fan and the code-required ice shields were installed and the job was done. My home is not a small cottage, nor is it a mansion, but I expected it to take all day. Even in such a fast pace, they were careful not to damage my property and I haven't found a nail in the flowerbeds yet. We had a very snowy winter and my new roof held up great, as it is expected. Overall, I started out very nervous because it is literally the roof over my head. However, their professionalism made me feel good about such an important job. I would recommend them to anyone who is in the area who needs a quality job done for a competitive price with quality materials.

Jerry did an excellant job in replacing my cedar shake roof in the end of December. There was snow on the roof and it snowed on occassion during the work, but that did not stop his men from performing their work on a timely basis. His workman were extremely professional; he used excellant materials, and the workmanship as about as good as it gets. I would highly recommend Jerry for any roofing project, and, in fact, I have already.

He was fine. It took him a long time to get the right people out here, however. There was a leak that they didn't seem to be able to find, but once they found the source of the leak, they were able to correct it quickly. The roof installation went just fine with the exception of that leak, and they are just exceptionally nice people. I have used them in the past and have recommended them to many people. Jerry Newman and his wife are both very charming, and I have been pleased with their service.

EXCELLENT RESPONSE, DID THE WORK AS QUOTED AND FOUND AND FIXED OTHER PROBLEM AREAS AS WELL. WORK WAS TOP NOTCH AND COMPLETED IN A TIMELY FASHION WITH NO MESS LEFT BEHIND!

VERY PROFESSIONAL, HONEST AND FAIR QUOTE. PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE. WOULD HAVE BEEN MY CHOICE TO DO THE WORK UNTIL PRIOR CONTRACTOR, WHO PUT ON MY ROOF 4 YEARS PRIOR, RELUCTANTLY AGREED TO SHARE IN THE COST TO REPAIR IT.

HE ACCURATELY ACCESSED WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SIDING. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS ABLE TO DO THAT. HE WAS ALSO THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD FIX THE DAMAGE AND NOT JUST REPLACE IT.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES FOR SMALL REPAIR JOBS. PREVIOUS ONES INCLUDED REPLACING AN ATTIC FAN AND CAULKING AROUND A VENT PIPE. ONE SUMMER SEVERAL YEARS AGO(AFTER A SEVERE HAILSTORM) THEY WERE SLOW TO GET TO MY JOB, BUT EVERY OTHER TIME THEY HAVE BEEN RESPONSIVE.

HE GAVE US A REFERENCE ON THE SPOT FOR A GOOD PRODUCT FOR KILLING THE FUNGUS. LATER ON, HOWEVER, HE CALLED BACK SAYING HE GAVE US THE WRONG #. HOW MANY CONTRACTORS WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO DO THAT? ITS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT NOT MANY WOULD.
