Hoff Disposal

Description of Work: It has been over a year since our neighbors had a fire where they rented a large dumpster from Hoff Disposal of Loves Park IL- Hoff Disposal (semi truck) drove into our yard , damaged our sidewalks, left ruts in our yard, and has not fixed. Our neighbor saw everything. We immediately contacted Hoff to report the damages. The driver did not even attempt to leave a note or apologize for driving in our front yard. Eric Hoff said they would look at it next time they were in the area. The next time they came to pick up another dumpster I never heard anything. I knew they had been in since the dumpster was different. Eric did not return phone calls. I left several messages and no returned call. I finally reached Eric again he said they would repair damages but did not. I was 6 months pregnant with complications at the time. Walking was hard enough at the time especially with the obstacle course of ruts and broken cement I had to walk on getting in and out of the house. No response after this. My fiance and I would make several calls over the following months. With no response. Then it got too cold to do cement work. By this time I was 7 months pregnant and could not see my feet and would trip on them all the time and still did nothing. They were impossible to shovel and would ice up. It was not only an inconvenience but extremely dangerous for me to get out of the house with my 2 year old and very pregnant me. Still nothing. Never returns calls. It would not be an expensive repair, It is the principal of the matter. When you break it, fix it. That is why companies carry insurance. Because everyone makes mistakes it is how you handle the problem that really counts. And they are terrible. No one ever answers the phone or calls back. They have never once apologized or recognized their bad business practices or said what measures were in action to make sure we were satisfied. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We have repaired the sidewalks and yard ourselves and will be sending Eric Hoff a bill and copying our lawyer. Our lawyer has been notified of Hoff Disposal's non-compliance.
