Davey did a great job from the start. I got a call, a quick visit for an estimate and a relatively prompt schedule, considering the permits we had to get to prune a tree in my parkway. The permits went smoothly and signs appeared to block parking. The team arrived on time and expertly drove the cherry picker into my 30' mulberry (male, no berries), cutting away dead branches, suckers, and shaping up the big branches below the canopy. Another team member pulled 3 arbor vitaes out of the back. They were just unnecessary and were shading my garden, so they had to go in the chipper with the mulberry branches. Every person was extremely professional and I'd say deft, based on observing them working. The tree looks great, the new garden bed looks great.

They are by far the best people I have had in pruning trees, the price of the large and diverse job was very reasonable, they sort of come when they come to do the work, but as long as there is not a tight time frame (which there wasn't), the quality of their work is excellent

Excellent! Care of Trees is the best for tree pruning and tree care. It makes me feel very comfortable with the work to be done when I meet with the arborist first and we talk through the work to be done. I highly recommend them and my arborist, John Kelly.

John came out promptly to give an estimate. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and took time to explain the need for his recommendations. He also followed up when the crew came to do the work making sure that I knew who to speak to with any concerns, walked the crew through exactly what was contracted for. I had asked for some additional work that day, expecting to pay extra for it. They did the extra job with no additional cost to me.
The 3 man crew was very efficient and set to work immediately and worked three straight hours to finish the job quickly and efficiently. I was impressed with their speed and skill in dealing with the overgrowth due to our neglect in keeping up with the maintenance of the yard and hedges. They cleaned up all debris and we were very pleased.

They were on time, efficient as can be and super neat. They were very friendly when our 5 year old twins wanted to wave at them from inside the house while they were working (they waved back, smiled, etc.).

We've been using The Care of Trees - Barrington for a number of years. They're an excellent service. They do excellent work. The prices are very fair. They're superb. We got estimates from other companies for the most recent job and they were all $1,000.00 over the price we got from The Care of Trees. They were very good. Everything went well. They cleaned up after themselves. You can get guys who take down trees who just hack them down. They're not professional and these guys are professional. They're medium priced, not necessarily low.

I own several rental homes and have used this company at several properties. I had no issue with the company - and would have wholeheartedly recommended them to others until my most recent experience.
On 6/5, I called to get an estimate for additional services at a previously serviced address.
On 6/11, I received a phone call from the office to see if I was satisfied with the work done. I mentioned the outstanding request for an additional quote. She said that she would look into it and have someone get back to me.
On 6/20, I called to see what was holding up the requested estimate. The arborist returned my call, citing his busy schedule (a drop-by had been added to his schedule on 6/6). He stated that it normally takes a week to do an estimate and again said that he had been busy. To date, the property has not been visited to prepare an estimate. From the argumentative tone of his voice, I believe he is more interested in defending why he was unable to visit the property or appraise me of the delay for two weeks than to provide the requested service.

Dan came and looked over the lot and spent time discussing options with me. He sent me a quote and property map. We scheduled a time for work to be done and the crew came out and did what we had discusse and cleaned up afterward. All in all it was a good experience.

They are very knowledgeable. They work with you and they are very professional. The owner Rich will come out and do estimates and make recommendations. I think they are one of the better tree service companies in the area.

They are just the best. Their price was A+ and the service was phenomenal. The professionalism and their clean up were also A+. They then had to take down a big portion of my fence to get their equipment in the yard. After the work was done, they came back the next day and put the fence back up. They were here all day working. They then had these huge logs; they were here at 8 in the morning the next day and cleaned up every log.
They were beyond excellent. All their workers were phenomenal with taking the trees down. The stump grinding and follow up was superb. They were very organized and very systematic. Their service throughout the years has been excellent!

The trees did all that until The Care of Trees company cut off all of the branches on one side of it. All that is left are several skeletonized trucks baking in the sun, some skinny little branches close to the ground, and some leafy branches fifty feet up. From 10 feet above the ground to to 50 feet in the air, my tree is bare of branches. Additionally they didn't even seal the raw stumps against insect infection, and they did all this butchery to my tree during the worst of the drought stress on the tree. When I asked the landscape manager of the subdivision about the mutilation of my tree, he stated that if all the branches were not cut off, the tree would just grow more leaves! This logic is similar to amputating an arm to get rid of a hangnail. It is painful to see that tortured tree everyday. And costly to me also in sun damage to my art and furnishings and plants. Others thinking of using The Care of Trees company (or moving to this subdivision) might wish to reconsider!

John Kelly was the individual who coordinated my tree removal. He provided me with a prompt and free quote to cut down one dead tree and prune another massive evergreen that was encroaching alongside my house. I agreed at a very fair price with him and then he subsequently even additionally included removal of three overgrown bushes at no extra charge. The tree removal staff came prepared with cherry picker, a whisper chipper and a stump remover. The staff of three quickly and professionally accomplished all of the requested tree services and cleaned my property with a leaf blower, broom and rakes. I am very impressed and would not hesitate to use The Care of Trees and John Kelly again!

They were really good but their estimate was more than another company, so we went with the other company. They were very responsive and quite punctual for the estimate. They seemed to be quite professional.

They never actually performed any work, just came out to take a look at the work, then were supposed to provide an estimate. The man who came showed up an hour early at 8:30am waking up my baby (who never sleeps). He apologized and came back at the right time. I left the house for work, my husband said he was nice and was emailing a quote w/in the next few days. I had to follow up w/ them 2 weeks later asking for my quote. The rep. said they'd send it to me right away. It's now been almost a month and no quote. I just emailed them to say to forget about it, I am no longer interested. Unfortunately, this has been a huge waste of my time.

He was very knowledgeable, and his prices were very fair. He has been recommended highly from other people in the community that are very experienced in this area. He is going to do the work for us.
