Our contact at Poul's, Jon Lee, and the crew that did the planting, was fantastic. Jon came out to give us an estimate, delivered it in a timely manner, followed up with us and arranged for all the work to be done exactly as promised. The day the bushes were planted, his crew showed up on time, did a great job with the planting, dealt with our disgruntled neighbor and took every bit of yard waste with them. They then followed up with us afterwards to ensure everything was satisfactory. I highly recommend them and would use Poul's again in the future.
Everything looks better than expected. All landscaping damaged during the project was replaced. New grass seeded.
Lots of compliments from my neighbors. Project could not have gone better.
Mr. Dan Kjeldberg was the project manager and did an awesome job from beginning to end.
very pleased with the job.
Job proceeded flawlessly from initial meeting with salesman (Rick) through design & completion.
I couldn't be more pleased.
They were a joy to work with and delivered on everything they promised, on time and on budget.
First class, professional firm.
This is the third time I've worked with Poul's. I found them on Angie's list in 2013. The first year, I worked directly with Dan Poul. That was an excellent experience. The project was a thorough spring clean up after a couple years of neglect; mulching; removing raised beds and replacing with sod, etc.
The quality of the work was excellent. From a cost perspective, they were a little higher - but I was ok with that, given the level of confidence I had in the work - and I just had a good feeling about Dan. Super nice, thorough, gave his honest opinion about what I might do to the yard, and even suggested a phased approach, with a little done every year to achieve the "goal".
Last year (2014), I worked with Jon Lee, and noticed a definite decline in responsiveness. I had to follow up a couple times to get a quote. The quality of the work was still good, though there were a couple small things that didn't get done (and they never came back to finish, despite Jon saying they would).
This year, I decided to give Poul's another chance. When I called, they told me that I'm now outside their business area, but because I'm a repeat customer, they would give me a quote.
Jon was again assigned. He came out over a week and a half ago, we discussed what needed to be done this year, and he left promising to e-mail me a quote for the work. I'm still waiting.
I'm thinking it might be time for me to reevaluate this relationship, which is a bummer - because I was really happy with the first experience. For the first time since starting my business relationship with Poul's, I'm actually seeking other quotes.
I'd say, if you're within their service area and can work directly with Dan, that would be best.
My house is on a corner lot and we decided that we wanted to have more privacy during the winter. Although this wasn't in the original plan we had worked on a year prior, he was able to fit the items we needed into it. The project was quickly scheduled and the team finished all the work in one day. Rick was on site at the beginning of the day to go over where everything was going to go, and to make sure we were still happy with the placement. of all the landscaping.
Although Poul's is not going to be the cheapest estimate you receive, the extra cost is worth it for the quality of the plants that you get, the warranty that goes with those plants, and the quality service you get from them during and after the project.
