I'd like to begin by saying that the gentleman that cleaned my carpets (Tom) was the owner of the business. I talked with him while he was working on my carpets, and I got the impression that Tom was very honest with the work that he did and took pride in the job that was done. With that being said, I noticed that the other review for this company was an "F" that someone decided to give based on the estimate he refused to give. While I clearly don't know the whole story, I think someone reading both our reviews may find it helpful to know that Tom estimated my job based on the number of rooms I asked him to clean (a staircase and a hallway counted as one room). Each "room" was given a flat price regardless of the size and the job was billed out based on the number of rooms he did. So while the reviewer below and the owner of this business clearly had differences, the person writing the review should have their head examined if they honestly think Tom (the owner) bidding out a job before seeing it is somehow a disadvantage to him-the person paying for it. I'll further explain what I mean by this below.
I had heard about Tom through my Realtor, who told me that she uses him for every house she sells and every rental property she manages. Based on that review, I called TLC on a Sunday to see if they could come out to clean my carpets the following week. Tom explained that he charged a flat fee for each room that would be done, and that a set of stairs and a hallway would count as one room. We agreed on a time and I met with him on the following Tuesday afternoon. Tom was prompt with arriving on the job and was quick to get started. Overall he spent about 2 hours cleaning the space, but was extremely thorough in what he did. Unlike the last carpet cleaner I had come out, Tom took the time to scrub the floors and the stains that had accumulated (as opposed to just steaming them and then leaving). That by itself was something that I thought made his service superior- that and the fact that he did all of this for less money than the "A" rated service I had called out several months ago (If you're curious about who the other company was, I wrote a review for them as well).
So to recap, Tom was available when I called, made an appointment in the next week, was prompt in showing up, was extremely thorough in cleaning the carpets, and then to top it all off he did the job for exactly what he said he would (regardless of how big the rooms were or how bed the pet stains). So as I mentioned in my first paragraph, I can't imagine why someone would be mad at this company for bidding out a job site unseen and then doing the work for exactly the quoted price. In my mind it was better to have to only meet once to get the work done, but maybe some people think it's better to leave work to go meet someone for a quote?
Anyway, I've already recommended him to a friend and would do so to others.
