Regal Custom Painting

Having just bought my first house and moved in a few months before needing these repairs, to find that I had leaked on my neighbor's ceiling was terrifying.
I was referred to Angie's List from a friend, and was able to find Regal Custom Painting. I reached out to their team for assistance, and from the very beginning, they were very professional and very responsive.
Bob came by very quickly to assess the ceiling damage, and was very patient (thank you!!) as I worked with my HVAC contractor to assess the source of the leak and to correct; this meant Bob had to come by a few times, where we ended up having to reschedule the drywall work as I continued to troubleshoot the leak-source.
The drywall and painting work was done very well, the price was great and the fact that Bob was so personable and friendly really helped me win back a few points with my neighbor -- since it was my HVAC system that had originally leaked into his ceiling.
No question, if I need to use drywall or painting contractors in the future, my first call would be to Regal.

James was on time to review and go over what I wanted done. Later that day I was provided a written estimate (via email) which I felt was very fair. I agreed to the estimate and we scheduled the job. The painters arrived on time and completed the job as scheduled. I was very pleased and will use Regal Custom Painting again.

James and John came to do some interior wall/ceiling patching and touch-up painting for me this time. As usual, the work was done efficiently and professionally.  They are a pleasure to do business with.

Jim ( owner ) very pleasant fellow.  Workers can be a bit 'sloppy', but overall I got a good exterior paint job at a good price.

They were horrible. They were nice people. They told us what they were going to do and then they didn’t do it. They never came back. They left all of their equipment in our garage probably for 6 weeks. They never finished the job. When they finally did get the equipment, they didn’t want the balance of the payment which we were never going to give anyway. They never looked for it. We didn’t pay them everything. We were very frustrated. The price was partially what made us fine on with them. It seemed like it was good. If they don’t finish the job, we don’t look to pay no matter what we agreed to pay. They really walked away from the job in the middle of it and we are not sure why. They call themselves as a local company, we were new to the area and we like that. That is the reason we chose them and it was very, very disappointing. They didn’t come. We were new to the neighborhood and we had such a bad experience with them. We would not use them again and we would discourage people from using them. 

Work took a crew of 3 a few days. Work done on first two days was very good, but then became quite poor suddenly. I think the crew was in a hurry to get out of this job and onto another one. I had to bring them back to put the second coat on the downstairs kitchen (contract called for two coats), as the one coat looked terrible. They skipped over painting some of the trim, since it was already white, but it was obvious. There were a number of unpainted patches inside closets. And lastly, I was repeatedly pressured for early payment before the job was even complete.
This team is clearly good at what they do, but they need to work on their professionalism and finish what they contracted to do in a professional manner.

Quite frankly I have never seen such subpar work in all my years of working with painters.  For the touch up of walls where there were holes these painters did not even use primer! The walls looked patchy, some rooms did not even get touched up and speak to lack of professionalism! Ouch! After telling the painter his team did an awful job and I wanted them to come back and fix their work he said they said they wouldn't and they wanted the remainder of their money for a job that was done unsatisfactory.  I had to contract another painter to go back through all of what they didn't do plus the areas they did so badly.Would NOT recommend this crew! They are inexperienced and lack some of the professionalism of more experienced painters.

They were very meticulous and did a great job. The product was great. The price and quality was excellent. They came on time.

James responded to my Angie's List quote request the same day.  Job pricing was very fair. They arrived on time, used a good quality paint, and did a very good job overall. They also cleaned up well after themselves. I will use their services again.

It went very well. Even through the cold weather, the whole team was out here working. They were very patient in working with us on choosing the storm shutter color. They were fair on the price and as the repair bill for the damaged wood trims mounted, Eric Johnson, their foreman / carpenter, was very clear on how much each repair would cost me and why. I was very satisfied with the explanation and thought the price was very fair.

They did an excellent job and were very nice and trustworthy.  They offered advice and were willing to do just what we could afford at the time.  Would definitely recommend them.  They are quite busy so you will need to plan ahead.

Great service. I had gotten a number of quotes from painters, but James was the most responsive, gave me an itemized list, followed up. This really impressed me enough to choose them to paint our house.  John and James were very courteous and professional for our job and always prompt to respond to our needs. They got the job done in good time and even came back to do touch ups after we moved in. The house looks great. We are very pleased with their work. 

Overall, Regal Custom Painting exceed my expectations!!! There were some items that needed to be ironed out prior to starting the job and James was more then accommodating and was right on top of everything communicating with me every step of the way. James was even able to work accommodate me with a last minute start date and lined everything up in just a matter of days. They showed up every day on time or early and everyone on his team was fantastic. James even coordinated the carpenter to do the all of the woodwork for me. Everyone was very patient and professional even when I was worried about the color I picked and that it was not going to turn out. However, all of the colors turned out absolutely beautiful! James and his team worked extra hours to ensure the job did not run over their estimated time frame. I really cannot say thank you enough to James and his team, I really feel like it is a brand new house. James has also been great about communicating with me regarding some touch up work.

Regal is a great company to work with. They worked with us on short notice, provided a competitive estimate and were able to squeeze in between other contractor schedules. We originally were just going to have the bedrooms painted, but their pricing was so competitive and they were so professional that we expanded the scope of work to include the living room. The paint job they did looks fantastic and really helped to update the look of our home. They were also flexible and willing to come back and do touch up work after the movers came in case they damaged anything during the move. . We will be painting our basement next year and will definitely be calling them!

Nice guys - responsive but had to have back a second time to address wall patching issues which should have been taken care of the first time. After coming back a second time and patching walls, painters should have fully repainted walls again but painters only painted patched areas so can see difference between original painted wall and touched up areas.

John was excellent, pleasant, professional and a joy to work with.  He responded immediately and set up an appointment for an estimate and recommended some one for the installation of the crown molding.  I had to delay the work because of personal circumstances and they were understanding and stayed in touch with me until I could reschedule.  John helped with paint color selection and made good suggestions.  John and his assistant showed up on the day of the job and got right to work.  They moved items out of the bedroom and covered the floors.  They worked quickly and thoroughly and were done within a few hours.  I would definitely use them again.

Will definitely use again the next time we need some painting done.

Upon our request, the work was done in two phases.  They were very accommodating and agreed to the request.  It was helpful to see the quality of work done in the upstairs before we agreed to have them continue in the basement area.  My husband and I were pleased with the overall job.  After the initial call, they were very responsive and it didn't take long before I had a written quote and a scheduled date to start the job.  John and James were available when we had questions and needed advice.  Joe, who did most of the painting, arrived promptly, did a great job in painting and repairing the walls and cleaned up at the end of the day.

I have used them twice. The job was excellent. The owner always came out to check if the workers are doing a good job and come back after the work is done to check if the work is done right. They were very prompt and very competent. They were excellent on clean up. They were professional and very particular about how the work was finished and finished it just right. I spent $2500 on that work.

Regal Custom painting did a great job. James made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. If there was a problem area it was corrected immediately. My family was home during the entire process and the crew was professional and respectful. The job was actually completed before the deadline. I definitely recommend Regal Custom painting and will use them again in the future.

It went very well. Arrived 8:30 on the 13th with 3 men. Started removing the wallpaper & patching walls. primed the dining room walls where the wallpaper was. On the 14th, arrived about the same time and started painting the living room and continued removing wallpaper. also started painting the ceiling in the living-dining room, and hall. Also painted hallway. On the 15th primed kitchen, painted kitchen ceiling, painted kitchen. Removed all tape, replaced all outlet covers except ones I requested left off. I am very happy with the results.

James was very responsive and highly motivated. Also very upfront about everything and answered my questions in a very straightforward manner. He built a very good rapport. James and his crew arrived on the agreed upon day 30 minutes before the agreed upon start time and was patient enough to wait until we were ready. They were very professional and thorough and got all the work done on time and at the time promised. The communication was excellent. I was always aware of everything going on. All in all, I am very satisfied with their work.

During this time our daughter and very severe asthma during painting and they suggested no VOC paint. In addition, they adjusted their schedule so she would be at camp for the duration of the painting.
