PROTON COMPUTER

Lenovo 61p with windows xp was blue screening and tripping into hibernation. Preliminary diagnosis was a bad battery, which was replaced with a $30 used battery, but blue screening persisted. Diagnosis was a deteriorating hard drive. I passed on further repair. Another service provider remedied by correcting improper settings for hard drive and eliminating redundant security software.

Service was great from the first telephone call to the final handshake. Matt interviewed me on the phone, then explained perfectly what he expected would be needed. A courteous young techie came to pick up our tower. Service was completed faster than expected! Matt explained again what was done and choices that had been made. We've gone to these guys for years and they just get better with time.

The installation went flawlessly. Rick the tech set up the Router I had purchased from Comcast and then connected the Roku streaming video to my TV. In short order I was able to watch Netflicks movies on my TV. I hate comcast and they wanted $144.00 to set up the wireless home network not including the Roku box.
I am glad I went with Proton and I recommend them for on-site computer services.

We paid a $100 deposit to cover the effort. I am not sure what was found to be the problem but the computer was returned to a properly functioning condition. They were able to do this without losing any data and on top of it they installed an antivirus program and all the effort was covered by the deposit. We are very happy with the outcome.

After a telephone contact, I took my sick computer to their shop. I wss quickly serviced and a very compete evaluation and estimate were done. The estimate was very reasonable and was the price I paid. They were very willing to discuss other computer related topics and were very willing to quote charges for services. The computer repairs were completed on time even though some of the efforts were somewhat time consuming to recover my C: drive data and applications. One of their people helped me over the phone when I stumbled with a unique email account setup problem.

I felt that these guys knew what they were doing. They provided a number of extra services that were beyond what I asked for. Non nonsense, competent and fair.

The timings they have mentioned in their advertisements I not quite right. I went to them by 6 in the evening and they took care of me anyway. They finished the work by next day and I was able to pick up my computer quickly.

I took my desktop into Proton Computers at 1130am on Saturday and before I even got home they called to tell me what the problem was and what exactly it would cost. They had to order a part so I thought it would take awhile but they called Monday afternoon to say it was ready. When I picked it up they went over everything they did, plugged it in, made sure everything was working and gave me some tips on how to maintain the performance. They couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Rob called about 10:00AM to verify that the service was still required at 11:00AM. Rob arrived at 11:00AM which was the time scheduled for the service. Rob disconnected the PC and took it out on the deck to clean. When done with the cleaning, Rob installed the router which we had previously purchased, established security for the router and made sure that the Internet was now available on our laptop. I also had problems with my desltop not being able to find the Windows Installer. Rob was able to download the Software. Rob was done in just under an hour which kept the bill to the minimum charge, Rob was very pleasant and professional and we would definately use Proton Computers again.

They were excellent. I dropped it off on a Wednesday and they said it would be done on the following Monday and they actually called me on Friday and said it was done. They were very prompt and they actually got it done before they said they would. I hope I don't have to use them again but, if I do I will use them again.

He was much cheaper than the first guy who put in the modem. He was right to the point and made sure everything was running and he was very good. He was very thorough. I sent him an e-mail and they got back to me right away. I rate them highly and the price was reasonable too.

I have been doing businsess with them for about five years. It looks like a hole in the wall place, and there are new and used computers everywhere. It is a very friendly place. They call you out by name when you walk in. Their sales staff if very consultative. They will try to really find out what you actually need. If they do not have it in stock, they will order it and have it shipped directly to you. I have had them do computer repairs for me in the past, both the hardware and the software. They also repair Macs.

Got name off Angie's list. Highly rated, so I called and they said they had someone they could send over in next 20 minutes. A young man came (under 20 years old) in jean shorts and a t-shirt, looked at our computer and said he would need to take it in. Also needed a check for $125.00 for the house call, although nothing was done to computer. We called 4 days later, computer was ready, we were told it would be $160.00. We questioned it, as we had already paid the check which the man on the phone did not seem to know about and we said yes, we gave the kid a check, he paused and then said well yes, it is still $160.00 because it was 2 hours of work. We picked computer up and we go it home, and ALL l of my documents were lost as they had failed to realize we had to two users on computer and they only saved the documents of my husbands. We had to told the kid that came originally we had two users. We told the man that on the phone that when we called to complain, hoping they had saved a back up disk, (they did not) and he apologized (also tried to help me see if they had saved them someplace else on computer, which they did not), and said it was human error and offered to give money back. I explained again we had paid by check and credit card and he said he would credit us for the credit card but he did not mention returning check. I told him I was very unhappy as had gotten his name off of Angie's list. All of my documents and photos are lost forever.

They are very pleasant to work with. They were able to help me over the phone. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. The price was reasonable.

Our PC computer wouldn't boot up. It's crucial to business and we needed to either get it fixed fast or replace it, immediately. I checked the list for someone close and found Proton. We brought it in and said we needed an immediate answer on at least what was wrong. That would cost extra. How much? Fifteen Dollars. Sold!! We expected a call the next morning. Half an hour later we got a call that it was a simple case of the power button sticking and it was replaced. We could pick it up in the morning. Total cost: $65.00. Peace of Mind Priceless. The list comes to the rescue.

The computer was promptly repaired and the staff were courteous and helpful.

Overall I was extremely pleased with the expertise, professionalism, and efficiency with which my visit was handled. I would recommend Proton to anyone and would definitely use their services again.

My laptop computer stopped charging the battery. I brought it in and Justin worked on it the next day. He tried to solder it, thinking that it was just a loose connection. When that did not work, he tested the motherboard and found a short. Justin presented me with the option to repair and told me about various computers they had for sale, both new and used. He also offered to give me a credit toward purchase based on their use of the parts from my old computer. I checked prices from other companies and Proton's was very good. After purchasing the computer, Justin helped with several installation problems I had. He and the other staff were always friendly and helpful and their prices were very reasonable.

Exceptionally polite and courteous people. Actually offered pop/water while waiting. The additional assistance the next morning was above and beyond what I expected. Would I use this company again? Yes!

This is one of the best customer service experiencces I've ever had. I cannot recommend this firm too much. I will be going back any time I have a home computer or printer problem. These people are great. There should be a new grade for this company--A++++
