Builder's Cabinet Supply

Builder's Cabinet Supply is the manufacturer and distributor of Orchard Hill Cabinetry. They have a very impressive showroom and offer a full range of custom cabinetry at very attractive pricing. While planning my kitchen renovation, I had had four previous quotes from cabinet designers/distributors and, after obtaining the BCS quote, it is very clear exactly how much needless mark-up is baked into cabinetry distributed in traditional means. BCS prices were unbeatable and everything is custom ... you can get exactly what you want in any size or configuration which, at this price point, is impossible to get elsewhere. The overall quality was also quite good. I actually got a full walnut kitchen for less than I would have paid for non-custom alder or maple elsewhere so it is tough to complain too much.
Overall, though, I did have issues. Actually, lots of them. Some cabinets were ordered in the wrong size. I was disappointed with the outcome of my glazing (I didn't get to see a sample of the actual cabinet with the glaze I selected and it was not what I expected ... the glazing applied was EXACTLY the same color as the cabinet ... it was completely invisible). One section of the kitchen which was indeed ordered as I specified was just awkward (a large pantry was too deep - not enough walk space and the depth interfered with a window ... a rookie mistake on my part). My beautiful new kitchen is now installed and, every day, I notice all the things I would have done differently and quot;if I had only knownand quot;. With regard to the and quot;issuesand quot; I had .... this company was absolutely remarkable ... fabulous ... in making things right. They truly bent over backwards to get replacements quickly, even in the cases where the items delivered were items approved by me (meaning not really their mistakes). They definitely did strive for customer satisfaction.
Here's the summary, in my personal opinion: this place is called and quot;Builders Cabinet Supplyand quot; for a reason. If you are a builder or designer and you know exactly what you want and how you want it, this is your place! But, if you are an average homeowner confronted with a major purchase and wants somebody to hold your hand, help you make selections, patiently guide you through the design, stop you from making poor design decisions (which is SO easy to do when you are trying to get the biggest band for your buck and incorporate some of the dream-features you found on Houzz!), then this may not be the place. My sense was that this was a high volume distributor and, though they would help with design, they really don't have a whole lot of time to spend on it. If you do visit this company, then you need to be very, very cautious of who you select in the showroom to be your designer.

I like it that they offered a designer to help me work out the cabinet arrangement. They were very responsive and came to my house; they were not late and I will use them again in the future. This work is still in progress.

Went well. Do put order in as soon as you know what you want if installer (not BCS) is on a tight schedule because it takes two to three weeks for order to arrive. It is then immediately delivered to your home at cost included in the estimate.

they sent one person out to install a complete kitchen. the install person damaged most of the cabinets.and i had to hire so one else to correct all the problems with the install. this company refused to be responsible for any of problems. they told me that they do not install cabinets after they took my money and caused all the problems.

I visited and received estimates from the obvious sources, a number of home improvement stores. I really didn't feel any click with or concern from those "assisting" me in my kitchen design and was becoming overwhelmed with the whole process and how quickly the costs were adding up. Still in search of the right style and price, Dave, who did my kitchen remodel, suggested to me checking out Builder's Supply Cabinet, a shop he thought was worth a look and had the cabinet style I was looking for and in my price range - a big plus. Up until that point, it didn't even occur to me to look for a "cabinet" store. I headed over to the shop and again discussed my kitchen ideas with Joe. He was interested, he had some concerns about the placement of some cabinets, especially the possible conflict of the corner/lazy susan cabinet with the plumbing of my almost 50-year-old house and he also wanted to measure (probably twice). Joe came out to see the kitchen, measured, talked to K D Remodeling about his concerns, and also offered a suggestion for the installment of one of the wall cabinets. After all input was discussed and all concerns were addressed, I ordered my very beautiful cabinets from Joe. He even stopped by during the remodel to see the "new" kitchen. Since my remodel is finished, I get to enjoy the cabinets every day. They add so much to the refreshing feel of my kitchen, my favorite room of the house.
