I had AdvantaClean recommended to me by my insurance agent after we had problems with our original restoration company overcharging for drying and their extremely slow and sloppy effort. Unfortunately, our problems did not go away. The most important thing to us was getting the main floor of the house livable (flooring, kitchen back together, and toilet) as quickly as possible- our family of 5 had been living in a hotel for a month at this point! We made it quite clear that speed was first priority! They did clean the mess left by the first company quickly. But, after that, it was delay after delay! We had to find and pay painters ourselves because their painters weren’t available for a week. We ordered the flooring prior to hiring them. And, in spite of having a confirmed delivery date and a promise from the contractor that someone would be able to install them as soon as they were cured, no one was available until a week later. After several extra days of constant nagging, the contractor found someone (not one of his preferred guys) to “do us a favor” and install after hours. This exact scenario happened again with the kitchen cabinets. We even did all the unboxing of the cabinets ourselves in order to help them “fit us in.” Each time “his guys” weren’t available, despite having several weeks to schedule it. We were made to feel like we were rushing him into doing an inferior job, and he was always doing us a favor by getting someone else to do it. Everything we had ordered arrived on time and they had weeks to schedule! And, again, my family had been living in a hotel for almost 2 months by that point… our dogs were being boarded! Every day was costing us more and more money and stress! We also wound up hiring an electrician friend and our own plumber since his guys weren’t available until after we needed them to come (and, there was a significant price difference). Ultimately, we decided to not have AdvantaClean continue on to finish restoring our basement playroom and office. BUT, somehow, the bill we received was almost $4,000 MORE than was originally agreed upon by the insurance adjuster and the contractor. Both the adjuster and I have repeatedly asked AdvantaClean for a more broken down invoice to see where the discrepancy is, but neither of us has gotten anywhere. Instead, AdvantaClean had a lawyer send us a letter threatening to put a lien on the house if we don’t just pay what they say we owe them. Ultimately, I was given the impression that they feel like they lost money on our job because we didn’t use “their guys” and it was “rushed.” The contractor, Dave, was actually a really nice guy- but, AdvantaClean is really raking us over the coals. Do yourself a favor and look for someone else!

Jerry was incredible. He spent quite a bit of time walking around, inside, and all throughout our home listening to our concerns and inspecting all of the areas for any signs of mold. In the end, he determined that there was little to no concern for mold and recommended against formal testing, offered some simple solutions to get rid of a couple spots in our garage, and charged nothing since he didn't actually test or service anything even though he provided an insanely helpful service! We will definitely recommend him to everyone and we will definitely use him again in the future should we need his services!

Poorly. The owner of the company is totally dishonest. He lied to me twice. He told me the job would take four hours. It only took one hour. His crew arrived at 9:30 in the morning and finished at 10:30. Second, he told me that I would get two discounts: 5% for using Angie's List and 3% for being a veteran. I got charged the full price which was $799.00 for one hour of work. I would never use this service again.

Clean, on time, professional and friendly. No chemicals were used, and they left our house in a clean condition. The owner Jerry is a great guy to work with. Highly recommended!

Gary Brummel from AdvantaClean arrived. He asked about the problem and stared inspection. He is such a nice person and went to Attic to find out the root cause for the problem. Though it was very hard to go around the crawling places in the attic, Gary performed the work with a very happy tone. After completion of the inspection, he indicated that there is no major concern. All I need to do is get a bigger size bathroom exhaust fan and clean the existing mold with Moldex cleaning solution. When asked, Gary said that it is not worth to get a professional for cleaning such a small area and he practically shown me how to take care of this. Thanks a lot to Gary and his company.

Very well. My husband won the service thru a golf outing. Marie who set up the schedule was extremely nice and courteous. Two young men came out to do the job. Both were very conscious of putting shoe covers on when entering the house. They worked fast and efficient. Would hire them back again.

I contacted Advantaclean of DuPage after seeing the many favorable reviews on Angie's List. Gary Brummel stopped by to assess the situation; I even showed him the photos I had taken of the wall in question before I had done some of my own cleaning of it. Gary assured me I had nothing to worry about after checking the moisture of some other walls I was concerned about. He recommended, based on the humidity level that he measured, that I purchase a dehumidifier, even though my central air has one. He said paying for an air quality test would be a waste of money since, clearly, I had some mold. However, there was not enough to bother with having them clean it up, and he said he would contact a drywall person that they have worked with in the past, and he would follow-up with an email to me. So basically, all I needed was to have the drywall replaced that had mold and previous moisture. I was highly impressed with the fact that Gary was honest about the fact that there really was no cause for alarm, and that he did not perform any unnecessary air quality tests. He spent time explaining my situation, but the bottom line is that there was no charge for the service. (Estimates, by the way, are free in any event, but this consultation was more than an estimate.)

They performed a test and helped us resOlvera the problem to the best of their ability.

They were very efficient, pleasant, and professional. They made sure to keep everything covered and clean. They did a really wonderful job.

To make a long story short we had black mold in the basement of my parents house that needed to get on the market. Not only did the owner come out to inspect and view the original estimate of the house, he came out to do the heavy duty demolition of the finished basement. Both the owner and project manager as well as the guys doing the cleaning took the time to go over what was involved. What made me choose this company was not only their advice and knowledge but they were the ONLY company (I had 3 mold companies out for estimates) who asked to see the attic. I was very confused as why they wanted to see an attic when they were here for a basement. After viewing the attic it was determined the mold was there as well. It never dawned on me to have the attic checked but they thought of it. Such a thorough, honest, hard working, reliable, knowledgeable company. I would recommend them 100 times over! I can't begin to thank them enough for all of their hard work!

Gary was prompt, honest, courteous, and saved us hundreds of dollars compared to a competitor's bid (turns out this competitor was trying to take us to the cleaners!!). Working with contractors can just be a nightmare, but these guys are AWESOME!!!! Everyone from this company is just so professional and kind. They go out of their way to make each encounter excellent. I have worked with both ServiceMaster and another contractor, and AdvantaClean just seems to come from a totally different world. Quality, cleanliness, care of my home....I just can't say enough good things about them!

Owner Randy Moon came out to review the mold issue we had found in a bathroom and a few other possible areas. His quote for the job combined with excellent reviews led us to choose AdvantaClean of DuPage for our remediation. The crew that came out was exceptional in every area, from properly prepping each area so no mold escaped, to the actual cleaning and/or removal of affected areas, to final clean-up of materials and refuse. They also answered the questions we had as they progressed through the job (I am a very curious one and like to know what is going on). We have already recommended AdvantaClean to family and friends, and will continue to do so. They were all a pleasure to work with.

Ron was detailed and thorough in planning and explaining the process for dealing with the mold problem. When we decided to get new sheathing instead of cleaning the existing material, he still made sure we had adequate access to the attic. This is a true professional.

Insulators discovered a mold problem in our Cape Cod house that stopped their work. Jay from AdvantaClean came out that same day and quickly assessed the problem. He had originally thought they would need to cut into the ceiling to alleviate the mold, but on the day of the mold removable job they found the problem was not as excessive as first thought and worked out a way to take care of the problem without damaging the ceiling. Their attitude of what you need, not what we can charge saved considerable time and money. The crew impressed us with their process, efficiently making sure all surfaces were protected and keeping me informed every step of the way. A very professional crew. Work was finished in one day and they made sure my insulator contractor was kept informed and even giving them an opportunity to take a look at the area that would eventually be insulated which greatly facilitated our next step. An exemplary company I can recommend highly.

Called twice. Each time they told me they were too busy to come out. The second time I called (a week later) they recommended that I call someone else. After this initial review, Randy from Advantaclean reached out to me to further follow up on my situation. I already had the work completed by this time, but he was receptive to my feedback. I'm disappointed it didn't work out, but I respect that he cared enough to reach out to me to resolve.

Randy Moon, the owner, was the one who did our quote. He was knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the process. The team was courteous and friendly and took care to cover our entryway and carpet on the stairs and hall. They cleaned up everything before they left. I looked at the attic and the wood appears clean and free of mold.
