Overall, I felt it went very well. He didn't unclog the sink, but I felt he kept in mind our budget. He said he could have sat there for a couple hours and used the heater to unfreeze the pipe, but it would have been costly for that much time and work. It wasn't too fun for my husband to sit there with a hairdryer for two or so hours, but I'd rather have him do it for free than paying a lot of money for the plumber to it. Overall, I thought the quality of the work was good, he was upfront with me the entire time about what he was doing, and I would hire Ray again.
Description of Work: My kitchen sink was clogged for two days when I called Rays. He was timely and professional. He power rodded the kitchen sink waste line with three different rods. He couldn't find a clog, and came to the conclusion that the pipe must be frozen. It was 21 degrees below zero that day. He brought in a small pipe and a commercial heater that looked like a hairdryer on steroids. He sat and blew hot air through the small pipe and in to the sink pipeline. He used the small pipe in case it became so hot and it melted the pipe, it would melt the small pipe and not the kitchen pipe. He rodded again a couple times and came back with nothing. He told me the pipe could be frozen five or six feet back. He showed me how to warm the pipe by using a hairdryer. He also showed my how to warm the pipe by covering the vent next to it, and leaving the sink cabinets open. He left us the small pipe to prevent melting the sink pipe. He also showed me how to assemble the sink trap pipes. Later that night my husband used the hairdryer on the pipe, but after a long day, he didn't sit very long. The next morning the weather had "warmed" up to 31 degrees. My husband sat for a couple hours with the hairdryer and melted all the ice. He then assembled the trap pipes and now the pipe works great.
