Our deck needed some repairs and restaining, and it looks much better now because it was done the RIGHT way.

James was very polite and did a great job. Easy to work with and the quality of work was spot on. He powerwashed and stained two decks for me and they both look great. I would definitely recommend his company to family and friends!

As shady as they come. Remodeled part of my home and James was hired by my general contractor to do the interior painting. Our relationship started out great and we got along really well. He talked a big game, said all the right things and talked repeatedly about how great his work is and how he is one of the few good guys; out there. I really thought he was at first and things were looking promising. I then hired James directly to handle some additional painting that was considered out of scope for my GC. Fast forward a couple months and James had gotten very upset with my general contractor. His attitude declined and everything became doom and gloom. Cussing and swearing all day long. THEN he starts complaining to me about money and I need to get paid. Then he gives me some sob stories and all these reasons why he needs the money, one of which was paying his son is student loans. He asks me for an advance on the part I hired him to do. I reluctantly pay him around 75% of what he quoted me. I learned this later, but around the same time, my GC had also paid him 75% of what he was due from them. Within a matter of days of being paid, James packed up his tools without saying a word to anyone and walked off the job, never to be seen again. What is even crazier, the morning of the day he walked out, he looked me in the eye with a smile on his face and said oh, hey, good morning...how is it going?...yeah, good, blah blah blah Then was gone forever a couple hours later. I was nothing except nice and professional to this guy and he bails and leaves me and my GC hanging. It gets better - one day not too long before he walked out, he decides to bring a 12 pack of beer to the jobsite (my home) and has the audacity to ask me if he can keep his 12 pack in my refrigerator. WHAT?! The guy had started drinking at like noon. I wish I was making this up. Should have canned the guy right then and there, but me being the sucker that I am, gave him the benefit of a doubt, chalked it up to a lapse in judgement and just told him not to do it again. In hindsight, I am just dumbfounded. Save yourself a lot of drama and disappointment and stay away from this guy.

Jim powerwashed and resanded my patio last year. The polymeric sand used got washed away from many areas even though it should have stayed in place. Jim came back to try to fix it but the sand still did not stay in place. Maybe the sand was inferior - not sure. Jim said he would "make it right" so we talked and he said he would come back the following year. I called him in June (2018) and he remembered me. I thanked him for remembering me and our conversation from last year and told him how appreciative I was that he was keeping his word to redo the patio. We made an appointment for the end of July as he said he was very busy. I understood and waited patiently. I said I wanted to help pay for the new sand going down too. He never showed on the day he said he would come out and now is not returning my calls. Why make an appointment and then not show up? Last year he missed a few appointment dates, so when he did not show for the July appointment date I called and left a message asking if he was still coming out. I have called 2 more times since then and he has not returned any of my phone calls. This is very unprofessional and not the proper way to do business, especially when I was always professional with him.

He was prompt. His work was outstanding -our deck looks great and it is 30 years old. He is very thorough and neat. Next time we will definitely hire him again. We would recommend him to anybody.

James was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Great work ethic. Kept me informed all along the way. My deck was a mess and now looks fabulous. He used the best product to restore the wood and carefully repaired, stained and sealed. I'll use him again for painting and repairs!

Very professional. Arrived when he said and did what he promised. The deck looks amazing. Very pleased with Jim's work. Maybe more expensive than other bids, but solid work and we are pleased.

Jim appeared to be quite qualified and honest, however; I would have done better hiring another. He had to return to complete the job due to weather and ending up making a mess of what had already been done. He started with sidewalks and then did the fiberglass top of my porch. My landscape is lined with a trim of white rock which are now filthy from blasting the dirt off the sidewalks. The dirt from the porch top got all over the sidewalks and flagstone below and he denied this saying the stone was dirty before. The roof should have been done first and then the sidewalks and trim and ownership should have been taken for moving dirt from one place to another. The cash deal sounded attractive at first but is that really the way to operate a business???? Is that done so those that hire have no recourse for situations like mine?

Family Home Painting accepted a job to stain my deck in September; as of today November 21, NO SHOW!

Jim was right on target with what I wanted. He did an excellent job and kept in touch when the weather was uncooperative. He did an excellent job.

I am very pleased with the work that we had done on our deck!! I would recommend Family Home Painting to anyone. They were professional, trustworthy and very patient with our indecisiveness in picking out colors!! They were very prompt and just nice guys.

WARNING!! I had Jim paint my cabinet doors cream. They came back sticky, finger printed, and all scratched up. He delivered them in the bed of a pickup truck unwrapped or protected, so you could imagine the damage. I paid cash and regret it. I've called 3 times and texted photos of the damage. He will not answer nor return a call. BEWARE! I was also told these would be finished over a weekend and it took close to three weeks. Very unreliable.

On 4/12/16, I hired Jim to power wash my deck as part of old stain removal process. Using his own high-pressure power washer machine, Jim damaged corners and edges of no fewer than 20 boards on my deck. These boards are 2" x 6" x 7' long California Red Cedar. On 4/13/16, I talked to Jim on the phone and told him I was extremely dis-satisfied with the job he had done. Jim responded by saying he would refund my money. That was the last time I heard from Jim. He just ignores my calls/texts in attempt to resolve this matter. I am a very unhappy customer.

Had several rooms painted and drywall repaired, owner went above and beyond and did an excellent job!!

Professional,very friendly did an excellent job! Hired Jim to paint my grand daughter's bedroom. Would hire him again for sure!
