 + -1 moreI discovered a rotten spot on the cedar board covering the porch roof beam. Evidently the gutter leaked and over time caused it to rot where it was attached to the house. Removing the cedar I found carpenter ants. I cleaned out (killed) the ants and removed all the bad wood. The job suddenly became larger than expected. So I called Chris. Chris was very nice and helpful in accessing the situation and explaining what needed to be done. Because he wasn't feeling well and he had a backlog of work, it was going to be a few weeks before he could get to it. That's when we decided I could do the job myself. I replaced the wood beam. Replaced the cedar, caulked and repainted.
Description of Work: Unknown to me, Chris was sick and had taken the day off. However, he kept his appointment and arrived on time. He looked the situation over and explained step-by-step what needed to be done. We agreed that I could do this job on my own.
