It was a very good experience, Danny and his crew are the best, my floor looks wonderful l love it and so do all twelve of my family members, and most of all my husband is happy thank you again Danny.

Danny did a great job, above and beyond the contract. He picked up the materials from the store and delivered them to the site. He moved all the heavy appliances in order to install flooring underneath. He installed the flooring in difficult places (e.g., up against a round pillar).

Owner/Operator Danny came to give estimate and give suggestions on work to be done. He gave options on things to be done or not done. When all the work to be done was agreed upon Danny sent in a great crew of guys who knew what they were doing. When they were done my floors looked like a million dollars. Therefore, I give them the highest recommendation and I would definitely hire them again. Great work guys.

EXCELLENT! Danny was extremely flexible, even though I had to postpone the original installation date at the last minute. He is very communicative and very professional. The job was done perfectly, on time (actually sooner than expected) and everything was totally cleaned up afterward. Danny's crew is very polite and work very hard. Definitely would hire again in a heartbeat!

The short version of the story is: Danny and his crew were simply tremendous. My floors look OUTSTANDING and they were so patient and flexible with us during the whole process. I was especially impressed by how responsive Danny was: it was very easy to get him on the phone to schedule and to answer all questions. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The longer version of the story might be of interest to some, so I’ll tell the whole story here: My wife and I were having a very hard time rehabbing our older condo in Hyde Park. Everything seemed to go wrong. Before we found Danny and Modern Flooring, we initially hired another company to refinish our floors. That other company did half our floors, but we could not get them to schedule the second half. After waiting months, we decided to drop them and hire a new company to finish the job; that’s when we called Modern Flooring. And we are so glad we did so. Modern Flooring had to match the exact color of the first half of my house that the original company already completed. We told Modern Flooring the exact technique, color stain, and finish that the first company said they did (we pulled the instructions directly from their estimate). Modern Flooring did exactly what we asked them, but the color did not match. Let me stress that this was NOT Modern Flooring’s fault. They did exactly what we asked them to do; the issue was the first company did not perform the work in the manner the said they would in their estimate. You can imagine how stressful this was to me and my wife. We had a limited budget and now our floors did not match. Danny and his crew were so very patient and understanding with us. Danny himself came back out the following morning to assess the situation and go over our options. My wife and I were sleep deprived and stressed; we weren’t at our best. But Danny was incredibly patient and understanding. He went over our options to fix the situation and made everything crystal clear. When he realized that we were so stressed because re-doing the floors would put us over budget, he kindly and generously agreed to fix the first company’s mistake at a reasonable cost. Let me restate that: the problem we faced was entirely the fault of another company, but Danny of Modern Flooring generously came down on his price so we could make it work. Long story short: Modern Flooring was patient, understanding, responsive, and performed amazing work. We’re so happy with the outcome. Thank you Danny and thank you Modern Flooring!

This project went AMAZINGLY. I had previously hired Danny to do a small repair job that he did so well that I knew I would use him again. I recently bought a house that needed all new floors. First, my closing date was ever changing. I must have changed the start date 6 times on these guys. When we did finally get the house, Danny showed up that same day to scout the job and his crew was doing demo by 8am the next morning. The team has worked together for such a long time. They had a great rhythm to efficiently tackle the work. It was like a well choreographed dance. I literally do not have a bad thing to say. The guys were friendly as well. As a born and raised Chicago girl, I keep a list of "guys" to call. Danny is my "floor guy" now. I will always call him first and I will tell my friends looking for a floor guy to do the same. I will also mention that my plumber, electrician, painters, and handy men that have been through the house doing work and ALL have commented on how well the floors were done and have taken Danny's info in case they need him. If you want it done right and want it to last, these are your guys.

The people from Modern Quality were great. They were responsive to our request for an estimate, gave a detailed breakdown of the estimate, gave us information on the type of finish that they recommended. They were able to do the work in the time frame that we needed it done. They were on time, the guys moved the 2 pieces of furniture that we were not able to remove, and did a great job on the floor. It looks wonderful! They communicated well during the process, and moved the furniture back again after completing the job.

Had refinishing my first floor with Modern Quality Flooring. The whole process from getting a quote to finishing the project was super smooth and can't be better. Danny and his crew were responsive, on time and work hard. What else I can ask? Refinishing floor could mean lots of dust everywhere but they cover all important area and minimize dust during the process and they cleaned the floor everyday before they left my house. I LOVE the result and definitely work with Danny for my second floor soon!

Danny and his crew did an excellent job. He helped us select flooring that would match what we already had in place. The crew was on-time, courteous, efficient, and professional in their installation. The finished job was amazing -- much better than we had expected. We got other estimates and their price was very reasonable. These guys are "keepers!"

Modern Quality Flooring did a fantastic job on our floors. They arrived on time both days, were pleasant to work with, and completed the project on time. The owner was on site both days to speak with me and work with the team, who were also very polite and as quiet as they could be with sanding floors. :) No mess, virtually no dust. Their price was very competitive. I would recommend them to others and if needed, I would use them again myself.

Great experience start to finish. Danny came out to give us a quote within a day. They were flexible in scheduling the work. Showed up on time and were very professional. Sanded an area and applied stains for us to pick from, that was great. Even applied the finish so we could see the finished product. They worked clean and fast. We had a door that needed to be trimmed and Danny did it for us, no charge. We are having a lot of work done at our place and no one even came close to being as good as Modern Quality Flooring. Danny and his team did a great job from the start, explaining our options for finishing and repair. The work was done on time, at a good value for money, and looks really fantastic. They did a careful, excellent job. Dust was no issue. Danny explained floor care practices to us, provided some useful tips for dealing with movers, and helped us work with our insurance company. They took COVID concerns seriously. I recommend Modern Quality Flooring and plan to use them again.

Fixed a break in oak flooring.

Danny and his team did an outstanding job of redoing the floors in my home. They refinished and stained our living room, dining room, three bedrooms, hallway, and stairs. I highly recommend them! We had a small project on a tight time frame, and Danny and his team were great and accommodated us. He was able to come out the same day to give me a quote, and by the following morning I was scheduled for just a few days later. Within less than one week of inquiring, our project was finished! Talk about service. We had them refinish hardwood floors that someone had previously tiled on top of (so there was mortar all over them) and the floors now look gorgeous. Fast, friendly, professional, reasonably priced, and the work looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

This is the third time we have worked with Modern Quality Flooring and they continue to exceed my expectations! We have an older home that needs a lot of work and updating, like most we don't have an endless supply of money and therefore need to plan, budget and update in stages. Danny has been great! He has been consultative along the way to ensure that the overall look I want is achieved and helps us plan for the future. This last job he quoted well over a year a go, gave us a cost breakdown if we did a room at a time, all at once and knowing we were on a budget offered a suggestion to help us get "best bang for our buck". This round we had a custom outlet placed in the floor of my office, wood floor vent installed, flooring installed around curved stairway and a jagged stone wall that they needed to etch around and it came out beautifully (as expected). The team is fast, friendly and do fabulous work! I will continue to use them for future projects and refer them to all my friends and family.

Danny and his team did an incredible job! We had the hardwood throughout our condo stained darker and sealed. The finished product blew us away - the detail and quality is incredible. The team was able to start and finish ahead of schedule as well. We will absolutely hire Danny again for any future jobs.
