They did an incredible job, far more then I had expected. We were going to have a vinyl laminate installed but we decided to have Modern refinish and repair existing. In the end we saved $1000 and it looks like brand new hardwood flooring

We worked with Modern Quality to install new hardwood floors in 3 rooms, and refinish existing floors in adjacent rooms. Danny was very responsive right from the initial contact, he talked to us about what we wanted, discussed options (he had some great suggestions), and came up with a plan to suit our needs. The work started and finished on time. Danny walked us through the process, further discussed the finer details, and gave us options on final stains (he stained a small section of our floor to show us how it would look prior to deciding on final stain). The end result was amazing, exactly what we wanted and you could not tell our old floors vs. the newly installed floors. Danny also talked us through how to take care of our floors at the end. So, they did a truly great job on the floors, but they did more than that. Prior to staining they went and closed all of our upstairs doors to limit the fumes going to those rooms, but one room door would not stay closed, they fixed that (wow!). Also, we have an old bar for our back door, they noticed that it was not in great shape, and they cut out a new one for us from the remaining floor materials. They did not need to do any of that, nor were they asked to, but they just did. Just awesome that they cared enough about the house they were working on to go above and beyond expectations. Great crew and would not hesitate to work with them again.

Danny and his crew were prompt, professional and very knowledge in every aspect of the work we wanted done with installing treads and risers. They took the time to cover the floor with tarps and cover our furniture & appliances to minimize the dust that the work would create. Frankly I expected more dust, but they use modern equipment that collected majority of the dust created. I wish I knew of him on previous properties we owned! I would hire him again in a heart beat!

They did a beautiful job refinishing hardwood floors that had been carpeted. Other companies on this site recommended against trying to refinish because of the grooves Danny said it could be done and would turn out fine. He was right and the floors are great. We're glad to have chosen Modern Quality Flooring to refinish stairs and several rooms of hardwood flooring. Danny and his crew couldn't have done a better job. Their guidance on stain, finish and cleaning tips were fantastic. They were very professional, timely, trustworthy, easy to work with and at a fair price too. I would highly recommend Danny and his team. They removed carpeting and refinished the hardwood floors in the house that my wife and I bought. Danny and his team showed up early on the day work started, put down a few sample stains so that I could choose one, were very responsive throughout the process, and finished on time. And he is honest. I was considering replacing a few floor boards in one of the bedrooms because there were some gaps in the wood. Danny said he would replace them if I wanted to, which would have increased the price of the project a fair amount with the price of wood. But he recommended against it, saying he thought he could use wood filler and it wouldn’t be noticeable, and he was right. How’s that for trustworthiness? Turning down extra profit and saving us money, while still producing a great result. Would enthusiastically recommend Danny and his team to anyone who needs hardwood floor refinishing.

We contacted Modern Quality Flooring and a couple of other providers that we found on Angie's List. After getting proposals from all 3 providers, we decided to have Modern Quality Flooring refinish our kitchen floors based on the owner, Danny's, professionalism and experience. Work was scheduled and began and ended on time with no negative surprises. On the positive side, Danny's workers diligently sanded the floor with dust free sanders and covered everything in plastic leaving no cleanup for me after completion - either in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house. Plus, our kitchen floor looks GREAT! The whole process from start to finish was surprisingly easy for me, too. Thank you Danny for a job well done!

Danny and his crew do great work. We had them redo our condo years ago and more recently our home after water damage from a winter storm, and the results were excellent both times. Danny is very responsive to all communication, and we've appreciated the way he walks through their approach and the options you have. Their work is about as dustless as you can get considering the work, and with low VOC water-based finishes we were able to move back in quickly. Highly recommended! This time around we had two floors (2000ft2) and three stairwells refinished, which took about 6 days of work in total to remove/install part of the floor and sand and refinish the rest.

Danny met me at our new condo in Oak Park right after our closing, and gave us several great options for our new bedroom floors. He took extra effort to give me 4 different estimates for each of the options. While he was measuring the rooms, he also pointed out an electrical outlet issue that I hadn't seen! His team did a fantastic job throughout! They neatly and efficiently removed all the old nasty carpeting, installed the soundproofing layer, the engineered oak flooring, and all the baseboards and thresholds. They were so patient and considerate while I had 2 electricians working on the same day (not exactly ideal, but couldn't be avoided). The most impressive thing to me was their attention to detail and quality work. Even the baseboards were neatly cut to fit around the old radiator covers perfectly. They also do kitchens and other jobs, and I plan to call Danny again for future work.
