I called them in distress as my cleaning person could not figure out how to open the drain and turn the water completely off. They came to our home quickly.
The drain problem was a simple matter of turning a handle. As long as the plumber was there, I asked if he could look at the dripping faucet.
The plumber was able to salvage the faucet by turning off the water in the basement, grinding the faucet seats and changing the washers to improve the seal. It is a tricky job, but one that I have the tools to do as well. So I was a bit dismayed by the $450 charge and the fact that they didn't re caulk around the faucet rosettes. But, I was also glad this was a problem I could cross off my list so I paid the bill and moved on.
I do understand the best plumbers cost a bit more and I've reconciled that it is worth it in most cases.
