The best words to describe the experience we had with McEntire Roofing are UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL. Bryson, the manager, never once answered his phone when we called and it got to the point that we felt like we were begging them to do our roof. They'd been referred to us by our attorney, so we went into this thinking we were dealing with professionals. Nothing could be further from the truth. We've lost track of the number of times we called to find out if the workers were coming only to get voice mail and to have to call them back again. They ruined an entire weekend by beginning work on a Friday that had to be finished on Saturday. We'll be there at 8 am, they said. FIVE HOURS later two guys show up to work on the roof. Nobody called us to tell us they'd be late. We had to call them and the runaround we got when we did call both Bryson and Melanie, the President, was astounding. We're not heartless people. We can understand people running behind, but the lack of respect shown for our time was what killed us. The same thing happened on Sunday. The job was finally completed on Monday. The workers did not do a thorough clean-up. Nails, pieces of shingle, trash, and sharp tabs were found all around the house. We collected an entire bag full of debris. On Wednesday Bryson made an appointment to come to the house to do a final walk-through and collect a check. The appointment was for 4:00. Nothing in our experience with Bryson or anyone at McEntire led us to believe that he'd be on time, but we were ready nonetheless. He never showed up. HE MADE THE APPOINTMENT and never showed up. I called Melanie at 4:45 to say that Bryson was no longer welcome at our home and that we'd put a check in the mail. Thus began another chapter in the saga of unprofessionalism and disrespect. Five days after we'd put the check in the mail, Melanie called us to say she hadn't received it. We assured her we'd sent it; we weren't trying to stiff them. Two days later she called again and left a voicemail threatening to put a lien on our house because it'd been a full week and they still didn't have the check. When we called the next day to ask her what she meant by that, she couldn't answer. She didn't even know what it meant to put a lien on our house, but she'd threatened it because she hadn't gotten our check after a week! Then she tells us that they'd been having problems getting their mail. Seriously. They're threatening us while knowing full well that they'd been having trouble with their mail delivery. Unbelievable. Stay away. They may do quality work (we're hoping), but the people you'll have to deal with in order to get that work done will make you wish you'd done more research.
