They did pretty well.

I shopped around for carpeting for my basement. I worked with Mark and he is the owner of the store. They have three stores in the Chicago land area. He was very nice and offered the lowest price per foot. I know that many carpet stores give a low price and then over measure so there is a lot of carpet left. Mark assured me this was not the case for his store. He said that he uses a third party to measure and any carpet that is left over will get credited back to me as long as its at least 1ft. x 12 ft. in size. After the installation was complete, there was a lot of carpet left over. There was a piece that was 5 ft. x 13 ft. I called Mark to ask for the credit back and he said that because it was cut length wise instead of width wise he can't give me a credit back. He never mentioned this to me when I purchased the carpet. He only said it had to be a minimum of 1 ft. x12 ft. Basically he sold me over $200 worth of carpet that I didn't need and he refused to give me back that money. I would not recommend him.

I had used Wholesale Carpet Design about 10 years ago in my previous home. At that time, we visited every carpet store in the area and WCD by far had the best prices. In addition, they sold you the best product for your needs and didn't try to upsell. When I needed carpet in my current house, I checked Angie's list to see if WCD was still is good as I remember them, because I didn't want to have to shop around if I already knew the best place to go. I am happy to report that nothing has changed at WCD. Prices are still fair, with no hidden fees. Sales people are knowledgeable and not high-pressure. Installation was rapid and the installers were very friendly and polite. All in all another great experience.

We were very satisfied with them. We don't know how much we spent on their services because it was done in little parts. The experience with them was very good. They answered when we had questions and also answered our calls. We went there and they were able to help us pick up the most appropriate thing. The people that came to lay the carpeting were very efficient. They didn't get in the way and they cleaned up after themselves.

We went to Wholesale Carpet Design for carpet installation. They provided a fair price for everything up front (removal, furniture moving, install, etc.) The price included a nice thick carpet pad and a lifetime guarantee. I would recommend them.
