"We are happy to hear you had a positive experience with LandMark and its installers. Thank you for taking the time to write the review and please let us know how we can help with any future projects."
You don't want to watch the installer's every move but we noticed they were not applying a water shield under the window units. When questioned, we were told they could. However, two window units had already been fastened and caulked. A call to Andersen windows confirmed that without the shield it would void the warranty.
The company was contacted and they said once the window caulk dried they would send a team back to remove and reinstall the window units in question. That info was shared with the installer, who decided to correct the problem immediately. Good or bad? They removed the caulk from the window units and manipulated the water shield under the units and resealed. They should have known to do this without being prompted.
After install, there were some cosmetic issues with the window frames that were inspected and photographed by Landmark. We were to await a call back. Three months went by and we had to call to find out when those issues would be addressed. And finally, they were resolved almost 4 months after install by the manufacturer (no issues there).
Bottom line, a call back from the Landmark to see if everything was okay after install or if we had any questions would have been good customer service.
"Scheduling is always a task, but our process is quite simple and we state this at the beginning and at the final measure. We do not contact the customer to set an installation date until we have a confirmed delivery date of the windows from the manufacturer. This alleviates rescheduling issues. The removal process can be unsightly on the exterior, but we have since taken additional steps to make this portion of the project more organized. The seal he is referring to was not listed in the contract and our crew overlooked this detail. Once I talked with the customer on his concern, I said we would correct this immediately but wanted to check with the crew on the difficulty if the caulk was still wet. The crew rectified the concern immediately and apologized for the mishap. Our crews are very conscientious and we are constantly reviewing the entire installation process for ways of improvement. As for the cosmetic concerns, we are unfortunately kept out of the loop once the manufacturer service team gets involved. They handle the issue at this point until it is closed. We will work on the aspect with our suppliers to keep better informed on these type of issues."
"We are glad to hear that you were happy with LandMark's products and services. Thanks for the review and please keep us in mind for future projects."
Of particular concern was to replace the arched window at the top. It was a tricky fit, since it needed to go within the brick opening, which required some finessing. But they managed beautifully and were very creative with fashioning the semicircular trim on the inside.Based on that window (the double hung with the arched window above) is now the focal point of a lovely new sitting room, which had been a catch-all room before.
I will also mention in this review the original job that brought Landmark to our attention. About 7 years ago we needed to replace the bay window that had been fabricated by the builder and was now sagging to the point that the windows could no longer be closed properly. Landmark was the only company out of several that I had quoted that had experience with that type of job. They completely rebuilt the box that formed the base of the bay with reinforced framing. Seven years later, it's still tight and square. (I don't think an earthquake will shift it.)
A final word on the quality of their work: every time that we've had the building inspector come over to close out the permit after the work had been completed, all we needed to do is tell the inspector what company had done the job, which was enough to satisfy him that the work was well done. (He actually did an inspection, but told us that Landmark has a sterling reputation in the community.) For me, 'nuf said.
"Thanks so much for your great review. LandMark strives to provide the best products and service."
