We are very pleased with our new Marvin windows, installed by Landmark Exteriors. Our salesperson was very helpful, and he invited us to the showroom in Long Grove to see the product before we ordered the windows. The windows arrived when expected, and the crew that installed and painted the windows, were all very professional and efficient. We love the new windows, and give a rating of 5 stars!!

Aside from delays due to circumstances beyond their control ( Weather and Illness) it went great. I am glad to contracted with LandMark. They did an excellent job installing everything and exceeded our expectations. Their window installers (Mario & Lucas) were very professional and kept everything clean. With a big project we had replacing everything was like building a new house which is what we have now. If you are looking to upgrade to James Hardie siding I would strongly recommend LandMark because they know how to properly install it. The siding installers ( Mereck & Mereck) did an awesome job installing our siding. Their sales rep (Mike Kerr) is very knowledgeable about their products. They will work with your budget. They are not Storm Chasers. When we first talked with them, we weren't sure if we were going to file a claim with our insurance company and they were very accommodating by giving us estimates first where other contractors didn't even want to give us an estimate without us first filing a claim with our insurance company. We went through so many different options, i.e.; Siding - Hardie or Vinyl, Windows - Vinyl or Fiberglass and Andersen or Marvin Windows.

The crews were excellent to work with and very professional. When they arrived, they were diligent in their work and the end product looks great. The only negative is that they originally told me it would take about 7 weeks to get the siding and be ready for installation. After repeated calls and e-mails, they finally showed up about 12 weeks after we made an initial down payment for the materials. I feel that we paid too much for a down payment (25%) and their was little incentive after that to expedite our installation. I was disappointed in the time it took overall to get the job done even though the crew was very prompt.

We are very pleased with the whole experience and the looks of our new entryway. More light was needed in our foyer area since we had a solid door and 1/2 sidelights. Jeff C. was our representative and he (and everyone else at the Libertyville sight) took the time to answer questions and provide more information. Everyone who came to the house were courteous, knowledgeable and did a great job. Hector needed to do a custom stain match for the interior of the door and he did a fantastic job? We were able to go to the shop to see the door before completion to make sure that we were happy with the stain. The installation went very smoothly and we are so pleased with the job. It was a bit more expensive than we had originally thought but well worth the investment!

The entire process from start to finish was excellent. Mike was the sales rep and was responsive and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all our questions promptly. Also the installation team led by Robert did an outstanding job. They worked very efficiently to get this job done in a timely fashion and the quality of their installation was excellent. The entire team at Landmark was friendly, responsive and a pleasure to work with.

The Landmark crews were very professional and true craftsmen. The arrived on time, cleaned up every afternoon and kept me updated on the project. The completed job of the 3 season porch and the bay window were absolutely amazing. They looked better and were built better than when they were first built 28 years earlier.

Everything was expertly done and for a great price too. Received quotes from six different vendors and Landmark was the best and had the best proposal for the repair work on the exterior of one of our bedrooms. The installers worked quickly, efficiently, and with high quality. No pressure during sales pitch, only straightforward, honest answers and information. Would definitely hire again and will definitely be calling them first when I have to replace the other half of my windows.

The work was done perfectly. The workers were constantly in and out of people's apartments and I worried about the possibilities of theft by workers. There was NONE. The coordination and communication was very, very smooth. Workmanship was excellent. Building residents pay their own electric heat and this project has helped them save money and provided greater comfort. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!!

I have found Landmark to be a great company, personally involved in evaluating the needs of the client and providing for a professional installation and product.  They replaced the roof, gutters, siding and windows in a manner of professionalism and personal care.  The workers were courteous and followed through on all tasks.  I recommend Landmark very highly as a company worth consideration.

We were so pleased with Landmark! Once we finally chose the Anderson Eagle windows, Mike did the initial measuring, then we got to meet the owners when they came out to do their final measuring. We had concerns about the brick siding, trim work and the actual installation, and they spent lots of time with us and answered every question we had. When the time for the actual installation came, Richie and his crew did an amazing job! The detail in their work was amazing....They were there on time, cleaned up after themselves and again, answered every question that we had. After the installation, Mike came right away to see everything for himself and make sure we were satisfied. They came back the following week to address an issue we had about one of the windows, but took care of it right away and we couldn't be happier. We plan on using them again and would recommend them to anyone looking to replace windows or have any other work done in their home. Wonderful care from a great local business!

Landmark did a great job on our windows and siding. This is the second time we had them do work for us. Mike, the salesman, was very knowledgeable and low key. The first time, they just replaced the windows in the front of the house. We were very happy with the work and called them back to replace the windows in the back and to replace the siding. We went with Hardie siding and it is well worth it. We purchased wood windows which they stained and varnished. They matched the kitchen windows to our cabinets so it really looks nice. They paid attention to every detail and did quality work. They put finishing trim around the outlet outside, the dryer and kitchen vent, the compressor hose and around our lights so every thing has a nice finished look. Mike came out every day to see how the job was going. The installers were experienced and work diligently the whole time. They also cleaned up really well. The house looks amazing and seems warmer and quieter now. I would definitely recommend Landmark and would use them again if we needed anything else done.

April 2016 I wish that I could give LandMark Exteriors and our sales rep, Mike Kerr, six stars. The entire experience went so very smoothly, and Mike's attentiveness and helpfulness were outstanding. We had new windows put in almost our entire house, so it was a large job. At the start of the process when we were shopping around, Mike showed us several different options with various window companies and told us frankly the pros and cons of each different kind of window so that we could make an informed decision. We never felt any of the usual "salesman pressure" from Mike whatsoever; in fact, he even steered us away from one type of window that was lovely but really would not have been a good fit with our house's style, even though it was expensive and would have been a larger sale for him. The installation and final staining process was very smooth, clean, and easy. The work was done well and neatly. The windows we selected have now been in for about a month or two. They look great with our house, and we have noticed no problems with them yet. The extraordinary follow-up attention we've continued to receive from Mike makes us fully confident that should any problems arise, they would be solved quickly and with no questions asked. Mike even advised and assisted us after the windows were in, when we put a room AC unit in one of the new windows. He has unquestionably gone above and beyond in customer service. Quite simply, the entire experience has been awesome. We would definitely use LandMark again and highly recommend them and Mike.

Salesperson was professional and explained different options.  Windows arrived in approximately the timeframe expected. Installers were on time and professional, completed the job quickly, and cleaned up after themselves.  Price was a little on the high side, but the windows look great and my basement is definitely better insulated.

Consult, return for measure and wait for windows took approximately 6-8 weeks.  Had to call to get update on install date.  Day of install had enough workers to install and finish in one day.  The workers were careful with interior work, respectful of not creating a mess for clean-up.  However, the tossing of the old window material onto a tarp in the lawn was less than desired.  Would have been nice if one of the workers waiting could have been picking up vs waiting till all old window units were on the ground.
You don't want to watch the installer's every move but we noticed they were not applying a water shield under the window units.   When questioned, we were told they could.  However, two window units had already been fastened and caulked.  A call to Andersen windows confirmed that without the shield it would void the warranty.
The company was contacted and they said once the window caulk dried they would send a team back to remove and reinstall the window units in question.   That info was shared with the installer, who decided to correct the problem immediately.  Good or bad?  They removed the caulk from the window units and manipulated the water shield under the units and resealed.  They should have known to do this without being prompted.
After install, there were some cosmetic issues with the window frames that were inspected and photographed by Landmark.  We were to await a call back.  Three months went by and we had to call to find out when those issues would be addressed. And finally,  they were resolved almost 4 months after install by the manufacturer (no issues there).
Bottom line, a call back from the Landmark to see if everything was okay after install or if we had any questions would have been good customer service.
Response from LandMark Exteriors
"Scheduling is always a task, but our process is quite simple and we state this at the beginning and at the final measure. We do not contact the customer to set an installation date until we have a confirmed delivery date of the windows from the manufacturer. This alleviates rescheduling issues. The removal process can be unsightly on the exterior, but we have since taken additional steps to make this portion of the project more organized. The seal he is referring to was not listed in the contract and our crew overlooked this detail. Once I talked with the customer on his concern, I said we would correct this immediately but wanted to check with the crew on the difficulty if the caulk was still wet. The crew rectified the concern immediately and apologized for the mishap. Our crews are very conscientious and we are constantly reviewing the entire installation process for ways of improvement. As for the cosmetic concerns, we are unfortunately kept out of the loop once the manufacturer service team gets involved. They handle the issue at this point until it is closed. We will work on the aspect with our suppliers to keep better informed on these type of issues."

I had 7 windows that were rotted and needed replacing.  The entire process with Landmark Exteriors was exceptional.  Everyone involved from the showroom thru installation was professional and personable.  They provided a detailed proposal.  I decided to go with the Marvin Infinity fiberglass windows since they are low maintenance, can be stained on the interior, and look great.  Landmark made sure everything was covered during installation and left the area 100% clean.  They custom matched the interior trim and windows perfectly.  No detail was too small.  Price was better than I expected for upscale windows, the high level of customization I chose (including top-of-the-line low-E glass, high transparency screens, etc.) and full service provided.  I will be using them on future projects.

This is the 3rd job we've given to Landmark over the last 7 years. This year's job was completing the replacement of the windows on the front of the house that had started last year (I just didn't feel like spending that much money all at once.) As per usual, they did a great job. Our house is from the mid-1980's which means all the trim and the windows are stained rather than painted. I didn't want to change the look of the interior, so I went with a similar pre-stained look. When we did the downstairs last year we went with wood windows, but for upstairs we chose fiberglass, which was able to be stained to match the wood trim exactly (These guys are wizards!) One of the reasons we go with Landmark is that they will do the staining in advance in their workshop, so that the installation, complete with 2 coats of polyurethane, is done in one day. As I said, the colors between the stained wood oak trim and the stained fiberglass windows is so close you couldn't tell that the windows aren't wood.
Of particular concern was to replace the arched window at the top. It was a tricky fit, since it needed to go within the brick opening, which required some finessing. But they managed beautifully and were very creative with fashioning the semicircular trim on the inside.Based on that window (the double hung with the arched window above) is now the focal point of a lovely new sitting room, which had been a catch-all room before.
I will also mention in this review the original job that brought Landmark to our attention. About 7 years ago we needed to replace the bay window that had been fabricated by the builder and was now sagging to the point that the windows could no longer be closed properly. Landmark was the only company out of several that I had quoted that had experience with that type of job. They completely rebuilt the box that formed the base of the bay with reinforced framing. Seven years later, it's still tight and square. (I don't think an earthquake will shift it.)
A final word on the quality of their work: every time that we've had the building inspector come over to close out the permit after the work had been completed, all we needed to do is tell the inspector what company had done the job, which was enough to satisfy him that the work was well done. (He actually did an inspection, but told us that Landmark has a sterling reputation in the community.) For me, 'nuf said.
