I would never recommend nor hire Chelle Design Group. In anticipation of selling my home, I decided to remodel my master bath, and other misc items (new carpet, kitchen lighting, ceiling fans, etc). I needed a designer to not only help develop a plan, but shop for the end-products, and I needed to leverage their contractors that they use. I had no time for shopping nor any contacts for contractors. Through the Chamber of Commerce, I found Chelle Design Group, interviewed them, and I liked two bathroom designs. I decided to hire Chelle. There were several problems with the project. The contractors that demo'd the bathroom dumped garbage under my bushes. I had to contact Chelle to get them to clean their mess so that I didn't get billed from my association. The incorrect bathroom sink was ordered. The plumber had to be called twice to reconnect the new showerhead as it was spraying water from the top. The new marble vanity top had to be selected twice because the vendor ran out of the first selection. But this is only the beginning of the problems. The biggest problem, that continues today, is the master bath tile installation. The shower stall floor had to be reinstalled twice, as grout problems persisted, and sealant was never applied. But the main problem overall, was the entire masterbath floor. The grout continued to erode. I complained several times, and Chelle sent several contractors to review the problem. One assessment indicated the wrong grout was used; another assessment indicated the subfloor was installed uneven; another assessment indicated the mixture of the grout was applied incorrectly. No one seemed to know exactly what was happening, but all I knew was that I had zero grout issues for all 12 years before Chelle started their project. First, they offered to have a contractor come in and re-grout the problems area. The grout began to erode again, and they regrouted again, and decided with the change of seasons, we would wait until winter/spring passed with the shifting. They decided to reorder the tile in case the first floor had to be ripped out and redone all over...but all of us agreed this is not what we wanted to do. The grout continued to erode, and we decided that since there was no guarantee that ripping the floor completely out and starting all over would fix the problem, Chelle agreed to come back when I were to list my place and they/Chelle would regrout my entire floor. About a year later when I called as I was going to list my townhome, I called Chelle Design. A new owner had come into Chelle, and after I introduced myself, "Angela" said she was well aware of who I was was and Angela's exact words to me were, "When I bought Chelle, I bought only the good projects, not the problem clients." She offered to send someone to assess the floor but refused any further help with my floor nor expense to perform any work. She continued to bring up her personal problems, and I stated that we all have personal problems, but how was Chelle Design Group going to fix their own project? She told me that I had hired the previous owner not Chelle Design, and I said that was completely incorrect as my contract and all invoices were with Chelle Design. I have since contacted other tile contractors to assess the floor. To redo my floor in its entirety, will be several thousand dollars. Re-grouting the floor may solve the problem, but no contractor will guarantee anything because they don't like what they see. I have no desire to work with Chelle Design. Some contractors indicated they knew of issues at Chelle. I look for no remedy from Chelle nor do I want any contact from Chelle. I was extremely patient with them while they "figured out" what could have been wrong with my floor. I gave the benefit of the doubt and agreed to wait during season changes. I liked my project manager and loved the design. All they had to do was fix and regrout what they said they would. But they did not stand behind their word. As mentioned, I would never use nor recommend Chelle Design Group. My mistake, was allowing them to take so long to resolve the issue. My wish is only that no one have to endure the problem that I had with Chelle Design.
