Buss Flower Shop

Called to place order for homecoming dance 4 days prior to dance. Spoke with Jan who took order and advised us to pick up after 1 pm on the Saturday of homecoming. When we went to pick up the flowers we were told they weren't ready and to come back after 3 pm. We returned after 3 pm and still no flowers. Shop was filled with parents trying to pick up flowers. It was a chaotic scene. One of the female works (have no idea if she is also owner) starting swearing. She also started crying. Clearly the shop had overextended itself and her stress level had peaked. She announced that there were @ least 65 orders that wouldn't be filled that day. There was a worker in the basement trying to make orders as needed. Although I appreciate his efforts, the end product was pathetic and quickly fell apart. Will never use again.

I went into the store 2 weeks before Mother's Day and talked to a woman about what I was looking for. I had another family member pick the flowers up, and it looked like it had been pulled out of the garbage. The colors were faded, and they were limp and some were even brown.  I was visiting from out of town and helping my mother who was in the nursing home. I would have rejected it if I had been there myself to pick it up! I will never use them again.

The women at Buss Flowers were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were able to help me pick out some great flowers based on the ideas and colors I told them I was looking for, plus my budget. I needed to make a dozen arrangements. The amount of flowers they ordered for me came out just about right. When I got home and started arranging the vases, I ran a bit short on the green filler stems, and when I went back, they gave me a little extra at no further cost. They are also able to do quick arrangements for you in a vase with a bow when you stop in. They don't have a huge selection in store because it is a small shop, but what they have is usually in season and pretty. They're a bit overpriced, but so is everything in Libertyville. If you'd like a tasteful and lovely floral arrangement, I recommend stopping into this delightful local shop.
